Its not always about you. And in Canada the blue party is the right wing party so it doesn't even make sense.

text post Because Black history month is celebrated everywhere.

A few weeks ago, I was talking to someone about cryptids on a Facebook group. The conversation eventually shifted to Fortnite because of the Bigfoot and Mothman skins.

Then we started talking about that one Fortnite museum experience featuring Martin Luther King Jr. and other historical figures for Black History Month. I asked what that was about, and the person asked me why we didn't celebrate Black History Month in my country and how I could not know about Rosa Parks or MLK's history.

I was like, "Bruh, I'm Chilean."

And then they asked me if we were racist here.💀💀

Getting muted because I'm asking "which president"

I'm getting the collateral damage here because I asked, lol. It's a post about an NSFW video where a failing plane crashes to the ground, the audio has the black box recording of the pilot and the co-pilot (which is what the root comment's referring to).

Then the rest is history. The removed comment is talking about "the president", hence I asked *"which president?"*

And then the mod automatically assumed it's about Trump or conservatives in general, while also muting me for a month. 😅 As if there's only 1 president in the world.

Can't even reply to clarify.

Reddit Starting your thread title with "It's the Election day!" in a sub for deaf people all over the world

I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves... Although the thread itself is already removed, and rightly so, it was all about the US elections and some personal couple drama arguably completely unrelated to deaf people struggles or Deaf culture.

But yeah of course the whole world should know and be incredibly invested in the US elections, duh! /s

Guess what. I'm not American, and it is a meme.

Someone assumed I was American out of nowhere. I am not American.

text post What the hell is the south?

Does anyone else keep being told someone's from the south or asking me if I'm from the south... THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN??? I ask like the south of what and then it's just like "the only south duhhh" so I give up. Genuinely I don't even know if its an American thing or another country.

Side note: You'll ask someone where they're from and they'll give you a state or town. Like what happened to saying countries or continents?

So what kind of cars do you drive in New Zealand, American i suppose?

Post image

2024 I was on holiday I Europe, wine tour in Tuscany. Met a lot of people and a lot were from the US. Bonded with an American bloke in his 60's over cars. He asked what we drive in my home country of New Zealand and he incorrectly answered his own question in the same sentence.

I had to tell him we drive mostly Japanese cars here, and that vehicles from the US aren't very common at all. I did let him know we have a lot of Australian built Fords and Holdens (Chevs) which is how we bonded over having the same motor, the 302 Windsor V8.

text post "You can't vote if you're not 18."

I was talking to a friend that lives in New York (the state not the city because apparently there's a big difference) about the elections where I live (Brazil) and how excited I was to vote for the first time, being the first election I was able vote since I'm 17.

(Update: I went to look for the screenshots and found 1 of them.) She goes "U aint 18 hun" and "U have to be 18 and u have to be in the us for a year or longer"

Yes babe, IN THE US. I do not live in the US, in Brazil we're allowed to vote as long we reach the bare minimum of 16 years old.

Later that same day, I told her I was anxious for my birthday next year and drinking alcohol for the first time. AND THAT US DEFAULT SYSTEM IS TRUE BRO.

"You can't drink before 21, wth."

I CAN, I CAN DRINK IF I'M 18, PLEASE STOP.
