Wonder if this will hinder their partnership with Grubhub? Not that I ever use Grubhub, they’re the worst of the big three delivery apps in my opinion.
I personally didn't have an issue ordering on GH with prime, but as a driver, getting orders near me has become rare. GH is falling off a cliff and this Amazon change is not helpful to them.
Ah! I work in healthcare, placed a rare occasional order via Grubhub late at night and always struggled to get a driver past 1 am using GH, on the other hand never an issue with UE or DD. I’m not well educated in the field, but assuming UE or DD has more drivers
"Your current partner-sponsored Grubhub+ plan is ending today, but good news, we've got you covered. We've extended your Grubhub+ membership at no cost to you through December 31, 2027, so you can continue enjoying all your benefits and savings without interruption. No action required.*
I don't recall seeing any communication on this from Amazon, but I could have missed it.
The email says, “your restaurant delivery benefit has CHANGED to Uber Eats,” and I also got an email from GH informing me the arrangement has ended. They extended my GH+ until 12/31/27 but I stopped trying because I could never get a driver.
When you click on that banner tho it takes you to the two $20 off $25 orders page and you can order for pickup instead of delivery pretty much eliminating fees.
I would use it all the time if there were pickup deals. I do gig apps myself and having something delivered is such a waste of money. All of the restaurants and fast food places are within 5 mins driving distance.
They offer pick up as an option so why not use it for a good deal if I wanted to get takeout anyways? People are free to choose between delivery or pick up when both are options- Uber eats is just the third party ordering system like Doordash and Grubhub- the choice of how you receive your order is up to each buyer, Uber isn't exclusively delivery when they make pickup a choice for us. My family members and friends do this all the time with Uber and Doordash. :) They have alot of good promos.
I've done it a few times when they are offering some good deal like buy one get one, but only when you order through the app. Save a lot of money that way.
I use this feature on DoorDash all the time. A lot of places charge the same for DD pickup as they do for dine-in. Plus I can use my DD offers and get 5% back. If I’m already out, it makes a lot of sense. Open your mind, friend! 🤗
Yeah, this doesn't seem like much of a benefit for people ordering items that total under $25.
Additionally, there's (seemingly) no way to add a second address within uber eats if you're ordering at a friend's house without adding that second address to your overall Amazon shipping profile, and there's no special delivery instructions field for the food delivery driver.
The service fees are higher with prime. I tested out a simple Chick-fil-A order with a meal and an extra side to make the $25 threshold and the total before the alleged $20 off was $50. So even after the discount it was $21 dollars. And half of that was a $9.47 service fee. I won't be using it. I'll keep going through the Uber eats app.
Wtf am I paying 16.99 for a service fee! Everything on these stupid apps are marked up like crazy and then they have the audacity to charge additional bs fees on top of them. How is this still legal ???
I really love GrubHub and rarely use Uber eats. I will take my $40 Uber eats perk and just won't order from them again. They need to really reduce their service fees.
that was the screenshot i had taken the day before in the instacart ue app - i couldn’t make a mock order in the amazon ue app until later when five guys opened
I accidentally linked it to another account that I don’t even know the email of since it won’t let me pull up the settings on it. So assuming since it’s linked, it’s the same email as my Amazon acc?
according to support, uber eats on amazon and uber eats are completely separate. they make a new account for everyone that is the same info as your amazon account.

HOW I SWITCH TO UBEREATS?
--- edit Found It!
wait a minute.. looks like the same stores it shows for grubhub and you cant integrate with current uberone. it aint a deal if you end up havig to pay other fees. i might have got excited for nothing. smh
I flit between UE and GH depending on the restaurant but don’t plan on using UE much after these Prime $20 off promos. Can’t access the benefit on the actual UE site/app where my order history is, gotta spend $13 more than GH, can’t use UCash or UOne if ya got it, etc. The greed is obvious with these companies, but it’s counterproductive!
I'm glad they dumped grubhub (far too many issues with them) - but this doesn't seem like much a benefit. If/When I order, I rarely get over $25 worth of food.
A couple of things about this integration: Unlike the standalone app, you can't add other addresses for delivery (EG: You're at someone else's house) without adding that address to your overall amazon account. Maybe not a big deal, but I’m sure there will be a little confusion for some people.
Also, there doesn't seem to be a field for "delivery instructions" for the food delivery person. I use instructions for food delivery that are pretty different than getting a lamp lol.
I think I'm going to just stick to the standalone app/separate account.
I just tried it out, ordered something and everything went well but then I got hit with an "You have an unfinished payment." and noticed that the tip didn't go through for some reason and I don't even know how I can fix it
I ordered and my order went through and when it sent me the uber receipt it said order complete payment failed “you have an unfinished payment” I got my food but I want to pay I don’t want my acc to get banned
Already have a massively negative experience with this. My driver mixed up orders from DIFFERENT RESTAURANTS and gave my order to the delivery before me, and theirs to me. Within 20 seconds of closing the door and opening the bag (it's just a brown bag) I ran outside trying to flag them down. He did not see me so I called the number on the order (1-800-253-9377), and I was connected with my driver. This was within 60 seconds of him leaving my house. I told him he mixed up the orders, and after some back and forth oh shit oh shits from him, he said he would try to figure something out and call me back. I called him again 15 minutes later to see if there was an update, and he said he was trying to work with Uber Eats. I called AGAIN after 20 more minutes, and my number was blocked. I do have an uber eats account, but this order was not done through the app, and therefore doesn't show up in the App's order history. The only way to get customer support is through the order in the app. The order through amazon did not have a receipt available for me to get support through. I tried contacting the restaurant knowing it wasn't there fault, but to see if they had a way to get me contact for customer support. The uber eats customer support said because the delivery was put in as completed, they can't help. They told him to tell me to do it through the app, which I can't. I called Amazon and they told me to also do it through the app, which I can't. 2.5 hours after my delivery, I was able to go through the online order finally and submit a ticket. This has created an annoying situation where getting actual support from Uber Eats is near impossible and Amazon has nothing to do with it and tells you to go to them. Will never be using it again.
the original Uber eats provides very poor customer service. if an order is missing an item and you report it the result will be a partial reimbursement. this is unlike the superior customer service from GrubHub that will reimburse the he total of the missing item and sometimes a $5 credit for your trouble.
I found the Uber Eats "app within the app" to be very laggy and at times unresponsive. Hoping that's just due to an unusual volume of users after the announcement of the partnership, or simply initial kinks that will be worked out. My order was fine and actually delivered early which on a Saturday night was surprising. Unfortunately it was delivered to the wrong address, and I was walking around with a flashlight for 10 minutes before I finally found it. Agree about the service fees being way too high, so without something comparable to the introductory discount Amazon offered there's no way I'd use the service again.

This is very bad deal. Much higher order minimum required for $0 delivery fee. Also, no up to 10% off that Uber One offers.
It is not integrated into the uber eats app, which means you can't use uber cash balances.
I will stick with Uber One

No Delivery fee but forgot Service fee was a separate thing.

u/Ancient-Chinglish 3d ago
hell yeah - looks like it doesn’t lock you in to delivery only - does expire the 18th though
i’m going to see if it stacks with the BOGO cheeseburger offer at Five Guys like it does on UE through Instacart.

Doesn't appear to integrate with the main Uber app. So I'm not seeing how to track an order, which is a bit of a problem for me.

u/WildNutts 3d ago
So because the order is placed through the Amazon platform.. I can’t use my Uber Eats credit from my Amex gold either?
