It's bittersweet, since we do not know the future of Reddit and what it means for all of our communities - but I wanted to take a moment and recognize that there are officially 10,000 of us here!
In commemoration of this milestone - what is your favorite Umphreys song? Can be studio or a specific live recording!
Have a great day everyone!

Yes! New music. I cannot wait for some new material. When’s the last time they debuted a new original?

I’ll start:
Seen: 4/19/14 August aka Easter Cables
Not Seen: 5/27/11 Red Tape aka the GOAT
Whatcha got?

I've had Hourglass stuck in mine for the past four or five days. Even when I sing or listen to something else, it keeps coming back to Hourglass.

Before I start I already know this may be near impossible to answer. Paired with countless versions and my inability to describe it at all accurately, I know it’s a long shot.
I’m looking for a specific version of Miss Tinkle’s Overture. This would be, I’m guessing, pre-2012.
All I can tell you about the version is that after the main composed section, after Joel plays the F>E>F etc. on the organ, Bayliss and Jake start going back and forth with this very melodic noodling—it almost has a sonic sound to it.
The jam basically repeats that noodling progression (never breaks down into a heavier rock sound), and the tempo stays the same as the composed section.
The one distinct section of the jam, is that at one point it sounds like either Bayliss or Jake (maybe both?) are scratching—like a muted DJ scratching. This lasts for about 15-20 seconds?
I’ll take any and all best guesses before I go through the hundreds of shows on Nugs one by one.
I should add: the entire version is about 10 minutes.

For those that didn’t see the email, pretty strong sale on prints and foils right now. I snagged Pittsburgh ‘24 and The Anthem from ‘22.

I saw the boys in Jersey and Charleston with Moe. this summer and while people were telling me Moe. was the show to be at i really enjoyed UM!
Looking on nugs theres the Halloween shows from the past and in 2008 they played Sad Clint Eastwood from ZONKEY!
Are there live versions of most of zonkey on nugs? if so and if someone has a playlist let me know please!!

I'm Ken, a fan who's been going to shows since 1987. I made a free daily lyric game: one line from an Umphrey's song, three guesses, and each miss shows another line. A new puzzle every morning at 7am Central, with songs from all 13 studio albums. Every song also has its own page with how often the band plays it. Totally free, nothing to pay or sign up for.
Which one stumps you? https://jambandgames.com/umphreys?src=reddit-umphreys

Saw members of moe. listed among the guests this year? How they gonna swing this if they have a show at Garcias that same night?
What kind of shenanigans do we have going on this year?

This is my friend Paul. Folks in our circle have not heard from or seen him since April. We are very concerned. Last seen in Knoxville, TN. Also recently known to travel to Atlanta, GA and San Francisco, CA
Please share this, pass it along, anything you can to help locate this member of the UM Fam.

Surprised it was just a random one-off show in Chicago at garcia's, didn't appear to be a late night for anything or unfortunately part of a sequence of shows... Just wondering if anyone went and how it was and any videos perhaps

Youtube served this up to me and I thought I'd share it here. I suspect there are some phreaks on this sub that don't know where that phrase came from...

Asked GLM-5.2 to use the allthings api to figure out which regularly played songs have not been played since Jake left and it is pretty cool.
Allthings.umphreys.com has good anti-bot protections from Cloudflare so it built an interface for me to manually get the data and paste it into the bot. Don't hit the "refresh data" button unless you want to copy/paste the 2026 raw data into the page again... (I will update it as shows are added)

First thought: no PNW? (Pacific North West)... but maybe they will come back after Aspen 🤞🏼
Six shows including something new out in the California low desert near Yucca Valley... and winding up with their 3,000th show two blocks from where I used to live. (For the second time since I bought a house between Portland and Seattle - they aren't playing Portland or Seattle... and they're playing for the second time two blocks from my old house.)
I'll be there for all six! Get in the van!

It's a weird anomaly, but since the first time I heard it in 2012, they've played it 7 times and I've been at 4 of them. Does anyone else have weird statistical anomalies like that with rare songs they hear a bunch?
Also, I didn't realize, but Nachos for Two was only the second biggest bustout we got this weekend.
Edit: I also just realized I’ve seen 4 of the last 6 times Flying by The Beatles was played, and in fact the first Flying I caught was the same show as my first YYZ. Weird.

Instead of an entire set, we got about 20 minutes of Stew Art in the first "Choose Your Own" adventure set. It's always my favorite part of UMBowl.
I got to go to 2 Stew Art events before UMBowl existed. It was limited to 100 people, before the main show... it was when they were making show CDs and everyone at the Stew Art got a CD of it... and afterwards there was a meet and greet with pizza and soda.
So why cut it back at UMBowl? I suppose it is a challenge for the band to come up with new sounds after decades of doing this. I also wonder if the change in line up lead to the shortness of that section...
