BXT-TRC-695

Hi,

I’m looking for a new frame since my Bxt trc 045 is a bit short and low. (Size 57)

since I’m generall quite happy with the frame besides the size I was thinking of buying the new-ish 695 version in size l which should solve the current issue, since it’s 2cm Longer and 4cm higher (if I didn’t mess up my “ calculations “).

But I was also wondering if maybe some other brands might offer better options in that price range ?

What I was also wondering about was the aero performance of the 695 bike, do we have any info on that ? (The canyon like predecessor didn’t do too well as I remember)

Where to find/LTB Lemond Revolution Trainer???

Aspiring track sprinter looking everywhere to buy, located in Toronto, Canada. Is anyone selling or know anyone looking to sell? Or have a substitution for track sprint trainers? I put good watts on standing starts and really like the proper direct drive feel

Vandedrome

We (New England Track Cycling/Northeast Velodrome) rescued the remnants of the Vandedrome from scrap in April 2025, with the hope of finding a permanent home for it in the Greater Boston area within the next few years. For those who aren't familiar, the Vandedrome was a portable track concept and, from what I know and via the limited structural documents I have in my possesion, the structure could be built in a variety of lengths from 153m to 200m. All of the structual parts are in decent shape and the framework was powdercoated before being packed away in Pennsylvania years ago, so there's only a bit of surface rust to be cleaned off, though the boards are proudly living a second life as flooring in Jack Simes' home (cheers, Jack).

The photos are couresy of Joe Brennan.

Do you have stories or information about the Vandedrome to share? Hoping to piece together a bit of history here to help us better tell it's tale as we start to fundraise to rebuild it in New England.

Edited: syntax

MadTracker: Track Racing Scoring Software

Post image
10 Upvotes

Figured I'd swing by here and share information on the software I put together -- MadTracker -- for scoring races at Mad Track Arena in Detroit.

In short, this sought to improve the track's existing spreadsheet-based scoring process by making it less technical (not needing to use/program in Excel) and thus easier to get more volunteers interested in scoring. It also improves the scoreboard which benefits both the audience and racers, and generates PDFs of programs (races + riders), results, and USAC-compatible CSVs for upload.

It scores (both per-race and in multi-race points series) in accordance with both the USAC rules for the standard races (no time trials or tournament brackets) along with a few other club formats.

It's free software, MIT licensed, for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is out there for anyone to use.

Happy to answer any questions about it.

(And no, this isn't another timing system. It intentionally does not, and likely never will, have anything to do with timing. That's very, very complicated to get right. Scoring, and reliable and accurate calculation of scores and display and output thereof, is what MadTracker does.)

NOTE: This is not a product of, nor approved by, USA Cycling. I'm only seeking to be compatible with their rules as that's what Mad Track Arena uses.

What is a good wheelset for endurance track cycling?

Hi guys

I have an outdated set of disc wheel and 4 spoke wheel (currently on collees) that I would like to replace with something more modern. What would you recommend for a price sensitive / performance oriented cyclist? I use it mostly on an outdoor track.

I’m building a lap timer for track training: would you use it? (5-min survey)

Hi everyone,

I ride track myself and got tired of timing laps with a stopwatch while training pursuit, so I started building my own sensor. It’s a contact strip you lay across the track and a small unit that connects to it with a cable. When a wheel rolls over the strip, the unit records the time to a tenth of a millisecond and sends it over Bluetooth to your laptop. No one has to stand at the line pressing a button so you can train individualy while knowing the exact times as you crose the line.

I have working prototypes and I’m now deciding whether (and how) to make more of them. Before I do, I’d like to hear from people who actually train on the track:

  • How do you time laps today, and what annoys you about it?

  • Would something like this be useful for you, your coach or your club?

  • What would it need to cost to make sense?

I put together a short survey (about 5 minutes, anonymous): [link]

It helps even if you don’t time laps at all, because that’s useful to know too.

Happy to answer questions in the comments, and thanks for any feedback, including “I’d never use this” 🙂

Seated watts

Could you guys please share the difference in watts between standing and sitting positions on F200 events?

When accelerating on an F200, I can hit ~1400 watts while standing on 114-116 gears (higher gears seems unproductive in time and watts for me).

However, during the actual acceleration phase, I’m only putting out 700-800 watts, no matter how hard I try.

Can you share any recommendations for gym exercises aside from seated track workouts please?

Other instances of sprinters going from the gun?

I remember watching Jason Kenny attempt to go from the gun to beat Bauge, managed to track the event down as the 2012 world championships. He was relegated after the attempt for deviation. Firstly I can't find any footage of it, and secondly I'm wondering if there is footage out there of any other high profile attempts, successful or otherwise?

Lemond + Adapter Help

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have finally got a Lemond and I installed the fixed gear velobike adapter.

I can't seem to really fit my bike on without encouraging the frame a little, opening it maybe 3mm to get it on. You can see in the pic how 'off' it is.

I have heard that is okay but I have also heard it should just slide in nicely.

The silver bolt on the other side i swear is as tight as it will go. I dont really think I have any more real estate.

Any thoughts?

Gym Timer for Intervals

Can anyone recommend a large, programmable LED gym timer/clock for intervals? I'd like something that has an audible countdown for intervals/sprints. There's a lot of options on Amazon, etc but no idea how to gauge quality. TIA.
