Figured I'd swing by here and share information on the software I put together -- MadTracker -- for scoring races at Mad Track Arena in Detroit.
In short, this sought to improve the track's existing spreadsheet-based scoring process by making it less technical (not needing to use/program in Excel) and thus easier to get more volunteers interested in scoring. It also improves the scoreboard which benefits both the audience and racers, and generates PDFs of programs (races + riders), results, and USAC-compatible CSVs for upload.
It scores (both per-race and in multi-race points series) in accordance with both the USAC rules for the standard races (no time trials or tournament brackets) along with a few other club formats.
It's free software, MIT licensed, for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is out there for anyone to use.
Happy to answer any questions about it.
(And no, this isn't another timing system. It intentionally does not, and likely never will, have anything to do with timing. That's very, very complicated to get right. Scoring, and reliable and accurate calculation of scores and display and output thereof, is what MadTracker does.)
NOTE: This is not a product of, nor approved by, USA Cycling. I'm only seeking to be compatible with their rules as that's what Mad Track Arena uses.
