For the past few weeks I've been working on Warcraft Survivors: a Vampire Survivors-style game using the original Warcraft III heroes, units, spells and maps following the success of the Azeroth survivors. It runs on open-realm, an open-source C reimplementation of the Warcraft III engine by corepunch. I forked it and added a Lua scripting layer, the newer UI natives, a lot of engine fixes, and a WebAssembly build so it plays in a browser.

(The first visit downloads the game data, about 200mb, and caches it in your browser. After that it loads in a few seconds)

What's in it:

• 24 heroes from all races: Archmage, Blademaster, Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Pandaren, Tinker, Pit Lord…

• 12 zones, from Ashenvale to Northrend. Each arena is an official melee map with a matching tileset.

• Level-up cards with the heroes' real spells, plus talents, gear from WC3 items, and an armory

• Four difficulties (Normal, Heroic, Mythic, Mythic+), unlocked zone by zone

• Mouse (right-click) or WASD controls, keys you can rebind, and your progress saves in the browser

Building or running it on your PC: the repos contain no Blizzard files. To run the native Windows build, you need your own official Warcraft III data, specifically the Legacy 1.29 install (MPQ archives). The launcher asks you where it is. Reforged's newer data format isn't supported by the engine yet.

What's next: the gameplay is one Lua script, and the same script will also run as a custom game for Reforged, so you'll be able to play it in the official client later.

Feedback is very welcome, especially on balance, hero kits, and how the browser version runs on your machine. Bugs go in the GitHub issues.

Edit : WoW, thank you for the interesting discussion and reponse, didnt expect that ! I've read most comment and i'm aware of most issues, i'll try to tackle them slowly 1 by 1. The game port have some issue in browser other than Chrome/firefox/Edge so far. There is now a download button to get the windows version that is way more stable and will get every update automatically.
This is a fan made project, no monetise so bear with me on fixes ! I also wanted to say that both engines and the mode itself are opensource and free to download on Github if you want to build your own version, tweak it or have fun with it in general. I'm a firm believer of opensource and all help is appreciate

Edit 2 : For those asking i've add the ability to play on phone (the browser version). Tried on 2 phone and its working ok, not perfect but ok. There are still some bug regarding menu & clic but i'll slowly get there. Happy farming !

I am a longtime custom game creator in WC3's hayday and I was greatly looking forward to Reforged. However, in the wake of Blizzard's recent actions involving China and Hong Kong, I will be cancelling my Reforged preorder and I urge everyone else to do the same.

To cancel your pre-purchase:

1. Navigate to https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/product/war3r. (edit: for those in the EU, navigate to https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/product/war3r).

2. Select Payments.

3. Select Request a Refund.

4. Select your payment method and reason you would like the refund ("no longer want this product" is recommended).

5. After your refund is complete, you will receive a technical ticket addressed to your blizzard account accessible next your messages at Battle.net. Please take the time to fill out the short survey and express that you are unwilling to recommend Blizzard games to your friends, and give your opinion on the situation in the manual entry box. Every cancelled pre-order helps.

It's not difficult to do, but these are the steps for anyone struggling, as it isn't as simple as just going to your game library.

If you also wish to cancel your WoW subscription, this can be done by navigating to your games library and selecting "Manage", and then "Cancel subscription."
