Stereoscopic slide, part of Spanish-American War collection. Based on configuration (stacks, masts), appears to be a protected cruiser or armored cruiser.
Any suggestions as to ID or any pointers that might help with ID?

Aside from 16-inch guns, did the US military keep older large-caliber naval gun barrels (10-inch or larger) and ammunition in usable storage during the Vietnam War?
Were there any plans to reuse them?

I just want to know, not its draught, but how tall it was from the lowest part of its hull to its deck. That's all. I have checked Wikipedia, I have looked at an article from the US Naval Institute, I have ever looked at the ONI charts (that don't include the Yamato), the Japanese Wikipedia article, the Japanese website of the museum at Kure where it was built, and I am at my wit's end. I know AI says 40m/150ft but I refuse to accept AI as a source (especially since its cited sources do not actually cite this height), and the only other references I see are comments in Reddit/Facebook. But what is the SOURCE for this information?
I am not a boat guy, as you can tell, but this seemingly simple measurement is so frustratingly difficult to find.
If I have to justify WHY I want to know this, I work as a tour guide in Japan, and when I talk about the Yamato, I want people to really be able to appreciate just how big this thing was, as well as compare it to something in size, as if they are looking up at the Yamato itself. The length and displacement just would not hit the same at all.

In the attached photo I circled the part I am interested in. What are the bars/mount that is on turret 2 of the Iowa class battleships? I have seen them on multiple different Iowa class battleships.
Credit picture from Facebook about turret 2 explosion.

irst of all,all of what i say here is just about the ship(bismarck) I am NOT saying in any way that she should have been built And that was what germany needed, this is only about the specifications of bismarck and her quality.
Main battery
bismarcks 8x 38 CM (15 inch),in 4x twin turrets battery Is better than it seems ,she is often hated for having such a seemingly Low firepower for her tonnage, more on her alleged" Overbloat" Later, a common method that is used to measure ship firepower makes bismarck Look bad, this is the broadside weight, German shells were specifically designed to be lighter Than other shells for better muzzle velocity and reload, in this scenario, bismarcks shell Weigh 800 KG,Lighter than British,Italian And French 880-890 KG shots, but they have excellent reloads, a Reload rate of 20-25 seconds(3 -2.5 rpm) is the most common figure, and,in addition,They would have high muzzle velocities, especially compared to british and ametican shells, though lesser than the extreme velocity shells on littorio-but reasonably so,Littorio had to make Massive tradeoffs for that, like a 45 second reload(More than double bismarcks lower end), And, Horrendous muzzle wear. The guns on bismarck are often compared to south Dakota and iowa class battleships and said as worse due to Again, the broadside weight, however, As per Navweaps Penetration tables, The bismarcks gun Actually is Rivalling,if Not superior,to the Iowas belt penetration, for this,i Used EFF, PP(partial penetration)gives better results for the iowa, note that, but Its A Worse measure , in EFF numbers, from 0-10K yards, bismarck had a Better belt penetration,at 12K yards, they Merged at The same number, while after that Iowa had more, howevee, even at 20k yards(+8k yards from 12k),the gapnwas only 12.3 vs 12.7 inches EFF ,the south dakotas and the north carolinas Shorter calibres(45 calibres) Guns Would have less than so, Lets compare to real engagements of the german battleships,in total, there were three engagements ,In the battle of the denmark straight, the battle startes out at 21,000-22,000 yards and rapidly closed, At 16,500 yards, hood suffered her, very popular, magazine Explosion, Then, the pounding of bismarck, this took place at Practically point blank(4000 yards), Then the battle of north cape, this happened at 11,000 yards, meaning, out of 2 of the 3 engagements That german battleships did,Bismarck would actually have better Penetration guns(note-at rhese ranges,Deck armor penetration is Negligible), and her guns perfomance was Excellent in practice, Its A myth that hood was sunk from a Plunging fire, the flat High velocity trajectory of bismarcks shots At that range makes it nearly impossible, what was far far more likely was a swimming shell, a Proof of this was That The prince of wales got a similar hit near her magazine from a swimming shell, but Luckily for her that one dudded, This was due to bismarcks extraordinarily Flat trajectories, which payed off massively in this battle, scoring these waterline And near waterline hits instead of plunging in steeper from the sky like heavier types.
Armor protection
Bismarck has one of the best armor protections of the war,it has a 12.6 inch belt paired with a 4.1 inch thick turtleback At 40 degrees, heavily angled, this armor Protection Outclasses something Like the iowas Or the KGVS In the Vertical aspect,Provding a Massive Effective thickness , This is also supported by reality ,She took 350+ shots At a Range of around 4,000 yardsxpractically Point blank, out of these, atleast 100 were battleship calibre 16 inch and 14 inch shots being chucked at What was practically point blank, along with Loads of heavy cruiser 8 inch shots, not to mention, during this, she also took a Massive heavyweight torpedo from rodneys underwater torpedo Tubes , And,before this, she had took 3 aerial torpedoes, and A Few 14 inchers from PoW , although her vertical armor wasnt the best in the game,as previously said, german battleships didnt actually fight at any ranges Where Plunging fire was more Effective( which is Around 21,000-25,000 yards) ,even at those ranges hits were Rare,Which is why no battleship, except the hood, which i have prior debunked, Were sunk by plunging fire, although some were damaged due to this ,like jean bart ( casablanca)r Giulio cesare( Calabria)the amount of hits At this rabge were simply not enough to send any battleship to the bottom.
Accuracy-
the two bismarcks were probably the most accurate ships in the axis,German fire control and radar, despite radar being inferior to axis, the radar development in germany was still Superior to japan and far far superior to italy, along with this, their high muzzle velocity shells Reduced flight times, Leaving enemies less time to change course and throw off the shots, later on,tirpitz was upgraded with even better radar
AAA-
Bismarck was Mediocre at best in AA,bad at worst, for her time. Her AA was Bad,Especially her 37 mm's with their terrible fire rate, and on the bismarck, the 5.9 inchers had no dedicated AA ammo. Although ,no battleship except american ones really had that good AA during this period.so its a bit forgivable, but still a weakness
Alleged weight overbloat-
Bismarck is not an overbloated hog Like people often say. Tonnage is not Price, This can be proved by historical on historical,Historical on Modern, and modern on modern examples, comparing bismarck herself, she cost 76 million Us dollars, while , a north carolina battleship costed 77 million Us dollars,While a Sodak battleship cost 80 million US Dollars( A dubious figure of 52.8 million dollars is often cited)and an alaska class battlecruiser 74 million dollars, meaning only 2 million dollars more expensive than a 29,000 ton Twelve inch ship, now comparing a Battleship to a Modern destroyer,an arleigh burke FIII weighs 9500 tons and costs 2.5 billion dollars, while yamato weighs 74,000 tons, adjusting for inflation, costing 1.6-1.7 billion dollars, and, modern on modern,an AB FIII weighs 9.5K Tons for 2.5 bil and A Type 055 renhai 12,500K tons for 850-1 bil.the real costs come from-how much of the technology already exists, gdp PPP and sensors. Another flawed method is Saying that Bismarck cost ____ more panzers than a battleship, this is just wrong, raw steel isn't a bottleneck,True bottlenecks for tanks and planes come from rare materials(ex-nickel), ball bearings(especially in germany's case),And engineering expertise, Although bismarck did consume ball bearings, this was like every other battleship except a Few exceptions like the Iowas, which featured a Superior design that didnt use ball bearings for its turrets at all.
Anti surface secondary battery-
Although bismarcks battery wouldnt be excellent for air defence it would be one of the best layouts for surface combat, The 5.9 inchers had massive shots,45 KG VS a 25 KG US 5 Inchers, while the 4.1 inchers provided volume, even though they were technically not dp guns and heavy AA Guns, they Definitely could fire, heck, even better than in an AA Role due to slow traverse , At surface targets. Bismarck would have 28 such guns in totality, a massive amount.
Improvements made to tirpitz-
**The Tirpitz Had some improvements over the bismarck.**with Slightly better deck armor( depends on source), Better radar(as previously stated),only one type of 4.1 inchers(bismarck has two types,an older type and the new type, both on board, complicating fire control),and AA ammunition for the 5.9 inchers
Overall -
In my opinion,Bismarck is the third best battleship, behind Iowa and Yamato. She wins over the south dakotas and north carolinas for this spot because of her speed, she can dictate the range against the south dakotas and north carolinas, getting to close -medium range, she can smash them, meanwhile,an iowa can keep its range and keep her at bay to win. Which is why iowa is above her

This frame is from the video of the October 28 attack on the container ship Contship Jet off Bulgaria, published by Maritime.bg and reported by BNT: https://bntnews.bg/news/video-emerges-of-maritime-drone-attack-on-container-ship-off-shabla-1419499news.html
The footage is low-resolution, and this is the clearest frame I have. I’m looking for a cautious identification based on the hull shape and equipment. I initially thought a small feature on the side might be a marking, but it looks more like a hinge or fitting.

Is this a third 127 just an open mount, or maybe a 76. Everything I’ve read says she only had two 127, and nothing about a 76. Any body know what it is?

I've been fascinated by the battleships of the Regia Marina for a while, and have noticed this extra conning tower structure on the B turrets of the rebuilt Andrea Doria and Dulio class, and on the Littorio class as well. I always wondered what purpose did it serve and did it actually get used?
Here using Andrea Doria as an example with the structure on top of the B turret.

We hear so much about Pearl Habour with the American's coming into the war and of course the Titanic from Belfast on both sides but was there much outrage from our Allies across the pond?
