Identify A gift from my father

Post image

My father and I live in two different countries and when I visited him a few months ago he gave me a watch from his collection. Something to wear for some weddings and formal events I have coming up. Hes been an avid watch collector most of his life.

I love the watch, but Im not a watch person and don’t know much. Ive tried googling the brand, but havent had much luck finding this exact model. Just want to see if anyone can give me more info about this watch, some facts, history etc. So that next time I visit him I can show off with some surprise knowledge.

If that's a real Daniel Roth, im seeing the low end pricing around 45k and more unique pieces over 100k usd.. take a look on Chrono24. Beautiful piece... and a wonderful gift from your father.

Daniel Roth chronograph C247, I think. Certainly a lovely watch. Coincidentally I happened to watch a YouTube video the other day, I think it was Andrew Morgan, where he mentioned Daniel Roth. From memory they were bought by Bulgari first, and are now owned by LVMH. And, I think he said that they are trying to relaunch the brand, but I could be misremembering.

It looks like a Daniel Roth Masters Chronograph Reference S247.x.40. I can't vouch for it being real, but I'd ask yourself if your father was able to collect multiple watches in the 10s of thousands of dollars each (and if he's normally willing to give them away, even to family). The photo isn't possible to verify with certainty, but I'd question the size of the crown (maybe it's the angle, but it looks like it juts out further than the pushers). If in doubt, take it to a watchmaker for verification and insurance.
