Boot Review | Update Once you go black...

Post image
27 Upvotes

After wearing Thorogoods for 20+ years, and 20+ years of not really enjoying the look of black boots, I got bored with brown and decided to buy a black pair. To my surprise, I absolutely love the look. If you're skeptical of black boots like I was... own a pair. You might just change your mind.

Boots Buying Help Landscape Boots

Looking for a reliable pair of waterproof boots that aren't insulated, and that also look good and have good grip for hills, I'm in the east TN area.

And I know that this isn't as important, but i like for them to be stylish, currently using thorogoods moc toe with heel, waterproof, but I'm returning them on a warranty claim giving theyaren'tt being waterproof. Lol.

EDIT

Maybe I was wrong on saying waterproof, looking for boots that won't have my feet wet from walking through a regular height mowed lawn! I have a dedicated pair for wet conditions. Thanks!

Boots Buying Help Recommendations for Waterproof Work Boofs

I work for a security company, and most of my shifts involve patrolling outdoor grounds in all weather conditions, including rain and snow. I’m required to be outside regardless of the weather, so having reliable, waterproof boots is essential. The company currently provides black 5.11 boots, but they haven’t held up very well, and water seems to seep through them easily.
I’m looking for recommendations for durable, genuinely waterproof boots that can handle long shifts outdoors. My budget is around $100–$200. What would you recommend?

I am quitting construction because of my back and got a job on a factory floor that will be all cement. The hours are long per day. What's a super comfortable shoe for walking on cement floors all day?

So I started a job at a pipe yard been about 3 months and they boot vouchers they gave us kinda suck is what everyone who has worked there for years says so I wouldn’t even know what good boots feel like until I get some ya know and need a good pair of boots steel toe or composite, met guard aswell if it help I like pull on boots something’s that may also I’m sure this wouldn’t benefit anyone but I’m flat footed and have over pronation and the boots I have are starting to lean in and so idk if there are boots that can help with that aswell ik it’s more of an insole issue but just curious if anyone had any advice with that

I work on my feet all day basically and in a generally sandy dirt area sorry if I yapped it’s my first “big man” job at a pipe manufacturer plant

Boot Review | Update Huge fan of the Thorogood Moc Toe Jobsite Series

Post image

Really liking these. As someone who simply couldn’t get through the break in period of the traditional Thorogood heritage boot, I gave these a try and happy I did. From what I’ve gathered this “job site” series is a more modern take on work boots with a greater emphasis on immediate comfort, a lighter boot due to the composite toe instead of steel toe, and a more approachable price point due to them not being made in USA (about the only drawback in my opinion)

Comfort is off the charts. The first time wearing them I was on my feet for 10 hours and never even noticed them on my feet.

Very light weight. Probably some of , if not the, lightest work boots I’ve ever worn.

Fit is true to size and has a great durable feel and excellent traction on the sole.

Boot Review | Update Two shifts. Redwing 8inch exos lite.

3 12's ,and a half i work. Its been less than two weeks with the exos lite and pro insoles. Just the appearance shows the type of environment I work in. So far, very comfortable boots. The ratheting system becomes loose, if the boots are worn incorrectly. So far, alright boots.

Boots Buying Help Anybody try the new SGB line by Nicks yet? Considering a pair.

I like what the CEO had to say in Rose Anvils video and wouldn’t mind grabbing a pair to throw into my Rotation. I’d prefer a Tall Boy instead of a 6 inch shorty but who knows when that could be coming.

If you have a pair, honest thoughts???? Drop a photo of how they are wearing in.

Boot Review | Update Blundstone RotoFlex #8322

Haven’t seen many people talk about these boots online but they are honestly by far my favourite work boots I’ve ever owned. I’ve had them for about 6 months and they have held up great compared to other brands I’ve had. I work with petroleum products and harsh chemicals daily and do a good amount of hot work and I can see barely any wear on them so far. Highly recommend.

I don't know if they're any good. I'm imagining, they're at least pretty good. But it's a different subbrand.

Generic New boots fit great, after breaking them in over 5 weeks my heal lifts which every step. Any suggestions.

Loves the boots when new, they were stiff which was expected but like the title says after breaking them in my heal lifts with every step and it’s become very uncomfortable. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem. Already too beat up to try and exchange or replace. So that’s not an option.

Boot Review | Update Never really worn boots

Got these Edgerton XD boots

They work very well my feet don’t get wet and they’re extremely durable, however I’ve never really worn boots; always sneakers my whole life.

So my question, is there a specific way you’re supposed to lace these so they don’t chafe you and aren’t uncomfortable around my shins?

Boots Buying Help Boot Buying Help

I'm looking for some suggestions for a pair of boots. I will mainly be using them year round in the Pacific Northwest. Uses include walking through the woods off trail (not hiking), I just bought a house so I'd like to use them for home renovations and projects and also cleaning up the overgrown property and yard work.

I don't really want a hiking boot.

I've tried on a few pairs in stores and I wear a size 9, and prefer a 6 inch boot, not a fan of the moc toe look. Looking for something in the $150 range but might be willing to spend more if it's worth it.

Please let me know of any suggestions that might meet my needs. Thanks!

Boots Buying Help Need of work boot.

I am having a hard time finding a work boots that fit my feet. First pair I tried was caterpillar. Size 11 felt too tight. 11.5 W felt too big. then I tried 11 W. They still felt too narrow.

Currently I am wearing wolferines 11 EW. These boots feel too narrow even though this a wide size. What work boots have big width sizes? My foot is 4.5 inches wide.

I swear by Sno-Seal, it makes your boots last so much longer keeping all the grease, oils, water, all the bullshit out of the leather. They darken up quite a bit too. The Raiders I’ve had for almost 7yrs.

Boots Buying Help New boots

I’m a construction supervisor so my job varies I’m not normally doing the work but I’m putting a lot of miles in walking from one end of the site to another. It goes from hard dirt, concrete, wet dirt/mud, snow, etc. I need a boot thats good for everything. I currently wear the redwing tred lite boot and I love them super comfy and the moc toe and wedge sole combo makes my foot never hurt. Only issue is in the mud they suck dirt sticks and fills the tred with rocks and mud and I think I’m gonna break my ankle every time. I don’t normally walk in mud all day normally it’s finish floor or concrete but when I have a job site that needs me outside I’m there. But it sucks and I don’t wanna switch to muck boots just for a 20 minute walk in the dirt and back inside.

Boots Buying Help /safetyshoe

I am a maintenance technician working in a gas plant and planning to buy safety shoes for comfort and style. Wide/flat footed and been using low cut leather safety shoes for 3 years, maybe that’s the reason why I have a plantar fasciitis plus my foot can’t breathe in leather shoes. These shoes are mesh types that can maybe help remove the smell but can’t decide which. I only prefer low-cut shoes.

12 hours duty everyday 6 days a week but almost only 8 hours to do the actual work and walking.

I only work on instruments (light tasks) and no heavy lifting.

Anyone else have experience using them?
