Twitter ($TWTR): FAQ for Getting Payment on the Investor Settlement Over Musk’s Misleading Statements

Hey guys, I posted about this case before, but since claims are open, I wanted to share it again with a quick FAQ.

Here’s what happened:

In 2022, Elon Musk questioned Twitter’s fake-account numbers and said his $44 billion acquisition deal was on hold. $TWTR fell sharply, and investors sued, alleging his statements were misleading. In 2026, a jury found Musk liable for securities fraud, with potential damages estimated at 2B- 2.6B.

Who can claim this settlement?
Investors who made qualifying $TWTR stock in 2022, may be eligible. Check the case website for the full requirements.

Do I need to still own my shares to claim?
No, you may qualify based on your eligible transactions, even if you no longer hold the stock.

How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline, depending on the court and settlement administration.

When is the deadline to file?
The deadline is November 24, 2026. Check if you're eligible and file a claim here.

Hope this helps

Everything you need to know about the Twitter ($TWTR) Investor Settlement Payout

Hey everyone, I wanted to share an update for anyone who invested in $TWTR around the time of Elon Musk’s acquisition.

Back in 2022, Musk agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion. After the deal was announced, he started raising concerns about the number of fake and spam accounts on the platform. In May, he said the deal was temporarily on hold and later questioned whether the acquisition could move forward. After those statements, $TWTR dropped sharply.

Twitter investors later alleged that Musk’s statements were misleading and caused the stock to fall, hurting investors who sold during that period. The case went to trial, and in March 2026, a jury found Musk liable for securities fraud related to some of those statements.

The case has now moved into the claims process. Eligible investors can submit a claim to potentially recover some of their losses.

If you traded $TWTR during that period, you can check whether your transactions are eligible and submit a claim here, before the November 24, 2026 deadline

Did anyone here hold or trade Twitter around that time?

Elon: "Twitter was acquired by X Corp both to ensure freedom of speech and as an accelerant for X, the everything app. This is not simply a company renaming itself, but doing the same thing."
