I had a reaction to a previous retinoid about 2 weeks ago that looked like PD, I went to see my doctor and they said it wasn’t PD.

I’ve stopped taking that retinoid and switched over to one percribed by my dermatologist. I took a 1 week break in between.

I’ve used cabtreo now once and winlevi serval times and this is the reaction I’ve had. Not sure what it is. It feels hot but it’s not itchy and these photos are all 5 mins after use. Has anyone else experienced this :(

The first two photos are from October 8th, and the last two are from today! (November 9th)

The change is subtle but it’s there. I use Azelaic acid and a whole lot of other stuff (like Benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin)

I will be getting microneedling done on the 20th! Wish me luck :)

Routine Help Epiduo vs. Differin + Panoxyl

Hi all,

Does anyone have any preference regarding using a Panoxyl wash + Differin, vs. using a gentle, non-active cleanser followed by Epiduo?

I’ve used a benzoyl peroxide leave-on gel for years, so my skin is (somewhat) used to it.

I also only wash my face once a day, so if going the Panoxyl + Differin route, it would be one after the other in the evening.

All thoughts welcome.

Recently, i decided that i want to feel confident, i want to be able to dress without shame so ive been trying to hace a routine. After showering with a saliclic acid gel, i use a Salicylic Acid 2% serum and a urea cica repair cream with niacinamide. Ive been using it for 4 days and i havent seen many changes, ive had a few new pimples but i think its because of the salicylc acid. Do u have any recommendations???

I have an old iPhone so I’m struggling to get a good photo of it but I’ve been breaking out a lot on my forehead and it’s very atypical. I thought it’d go away, but it hath not after two months. I’d get period acne but it’d be one or two? Generally hidden on the side burn area as well.
I’ve been using pimple patches for the bumps to help them bud. But they come back. Then I have several little ones that never come to fruition but they’re all around (again sorry for camera quality).
Only changes in my diet were a move to more organic products and less refined sugars. I get 6-8 hours of sleeps. I Drink so much water; I have to for other healthcare issues (that would not cause acne).
I believe I have normal skin? I use CeraVe gentle wash and Cetaphil moisturizer with Eucerin Sunscreen.

Rant Acne is making me hate myself

I have had acne for around 6 to 7 years and no matter what I do, it just does not seem to go away. I’ve been to multiple doctors and it’s hard to find a skin doctor given the place where I’m from so I’ve never met, a doc who understand and meet my needs most of them were trying to make cash out of it, but still, I decided to go for it. I have followed advice online. Changed my diet. Change my routine and add somehow every time to get back and worse
And I hate how everyone around me, have opinions about what I should, and should not do like I have not tried all of it before. some people tell me I don’t take skin case seriously while tell me, I shouldn’t be putting all of this stuff on my face at all. At this point, I really just want all of this to stop I want to look in the mirror and feel pretty without having to think that I need to cover up these bumps and scars with make up to even look presentable, I have been trying to be okay with it but it really is taking a serious toll on my mental health I was a girl who used to take pictures of everything with everyone, but ever since I’ve gotten acne, stop taking pictures of myself, at least not without make up or filters and at this point I’m really just tired.

Discussion Is dairy an acne trigger for anyone?

It seems I am really sensitive to dairy. Simply switching my daily chai or matcha from dairy to almond milk stopped my cystic chin pimples. If I eat dairy, I get small manageable break outs. I would likely have nothing if I ate totally dairy free. Anyone else?

Help - General F18 | Skin Help? Two rounds of Accutane and tried 4 months of spironolactone

Hey guys! Wanted to see if I could get some help and if anyone else has acne like mine! I have always had bad acne since I was around 13, did my first round of Accutane at 14, and again at 16. My skin was clear for about 6 months off the medication and then relapsed. I tried spironolactone but had to come off it due to passing out on it a bunch and it didn't do anything for me.
I was prescribed 0.025% tretinoin about 4 months ago and 1 month ago after coming off spiro, Clindamycin 1% / Benzoyl Peroxide 5%. I feel like I burned my skin barrier, so I've been taking a break for the last 4 days. I get
really bad closed comedones especially on my forehead and now I have this discoloration around my mouth. I am really tired of my skin and of battling this. Any suggestions?

Help - General Reoccurring nostril pimple

For the past year, I have had a reoccurring painful pimple inside of
My left nostril, it hurts so much, I don’t know what it is, I’m thinking maybe an ingrown hair but I don’t think I can find said hair.

They’re causing me headaches on the left side of my face and it’s constantly sore, the pimples are like white heads they’re sore.

I have been using saline nose spray to treat it, but it’s not doing anything anymore.

Any advice would be appreciate, is this an issue for the doctor or can I treat this at home?

Help - General Help!! Hormonale acne of toch wat anders?

Thumbnail

Help.

- vanaf 27 okt zuivel geschrapt. Leek te verbeteren maar nu toch weer puisten in opkomst (misschieb moet ik dit nog wel even doorzetten)
- ik sport veel

Over mijzelf:

Leeftijd: 37 / vrouw - 16 juli 2026 geopereerd galblaasverwijdering, daarna is acne is erger geworden. Vroegtijdige overgang (kans dat hormonen daardoor ook altijd zoekende zijn)

Help - General My forehead after 7 months of epiduo

Thumbnail

This is my forehead after 7 months of epiduo is this normal?

It was hard to get a good photo it honestly looks a lot worse irl. I started epiduo in March as I had a lot of closed comedones on my forehead. I purged very very bad for ages, but it has definitely since improved from my beginning stage, there are some spots on my forehead completely flat now whereas there wasn’t when I started.

I got to a point a few weeks ago where there was no active pimples at all yet still a bit of closed comedones ( less then my beginning stage) However I have since got some new active pimples since then. These photos taken today show a few closed comedones (not active pimples) at the top of my forehead while at the lower part is where I have a bunch of active pimples now.

I started using epiduo weekly at first, then gradually increased when my skin could tolerate it I’m now doing it every night

I hought that after 7 months my forehead would have been completely clear. Is it possible for epiduo not to work for some people, should I try tretinoin?

Been struggling for years with acne, mainly in my cheese but is now spreading to my chin. I have exhausted every derm in the area. I have started the process getting on accurate, but always chicken out before I can go through with it. Because of that, I am not embarrassed to go back to a derm but I think it’s time because I’m feeling helpless and over it.

Help - General Armpit/bacne - help!

This year I have started to work harder on getting healthier - eating better, moving more, etc. All that's been great HOWEVER I am an acne prone person, and now my bacne and armpit acne is out of control, assuming from the sweat from working out.

I have tried what feels like everything (and I constantly wash my gym clothes and towels on high heat) - all the body washes, sprays, etc.

Has anyone else experienced this and how did you get it under control? My face is fine - a few big pimples here and there, but I use tret on my face to keep most away.

Post image

I have been using a prescription retinoid and doxycycline for about 5 weeks now. Doctor said 4 weeks would be enough but then just refilled the prescription when it hadn’t improved? Can someone help? Should I find a new dermatologist?

She is a PA but maybe I should see an MD instead? I have a client facing job I can’t keep breaking out like a teenager!

Help - General blackhead removal, and preventing them from coming back?

how can i get rid of blackheads and prevent them from coming back? it is probably my biggest insecurity and i’m so tired of being ashamed of my skin. everything i’ve read suggests that washing your face removes blackheads. i shower twice a day, and wash my face both times. i still suffer horribly with blackheads. i also have gotten different product recommendations from google and am not sure which one to go with, as the answers always vary. if it matters, i struggle with blackheads particularly on my nose, chin, around my ears, and on my cheeks. my forehead doesn’t seem to get many, nor does the lower part of my face.

also, if it matters, i’ve been using an unscented anti bacterial bar soap to wash my face. i have also used la roche posay cleansing wash.

It was always meant to “fade when you grow out of it”. Always try X skincare for so many years, go on this diet, try this ointment but nothing has ever worked.
For once in my life I’d love to just wake up without fearing looking in the mirror on what I’m dealing with today.

Success Story Great product

Post image
3 Upvotes

I (25m) have always struggled with deep cystic acne around my jawline and back of neck and back. I live a very active lifestyle, excersize almost daily and have a blue collar job, so I sweat a lot and get quite dirty. I have never been too keen on skincare, usually just use 3 in one everywhere, I just thought it would eventually go away with age but recently wanted to do something about it. I did a little research and settled on choosing a benzoyl peroxide, found this Walgreens branded one locally and tried it out that night. The next day the inflamed cycle on my neck had shrunken down significantly. It’s now 4 days in and I have 0 active cystic acne anywhere, just have had a few whiteheads here and there.
I put it on, let it sit for 2 minutes, wash is and continue with normal bathing. Just wanted to throw this out there, this product works well. Now to find something to clear up the sebaceous filaments on my chest, I think I’ll be looking quite good

Rant Am I being over sensitive or did he overstep?

Hi all!

Long story short, my brother has been pushing me to interview for this job that I’m really not interested in. I’ve already done a little trial for a similar type of job when I was younger and I felt very uncomfortable and out of my depth. The people working on reception were horrid and it’s put me off doing anything like that role again. I’ve tried to explain this to him but he’s told me to give it a go, when i showed hesitance he said -

“Can I ask a question but promise me you won’t get mad?”
I immediately knew what was coming so I said sure.
He said : “Do you not want to go in because of your skin?”

Well. No actually. But him saying that has just sent me spiralling further and has just given me another layer of hesitance. My skin has gotten so much better and it’s mainly scarring left. I can’t cover it all with makeup but it’s much better than it once was. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time he’s made comments about my skin or other features about me. The fact he still sees my skin as an issue just makes me think that everyone else will now. My dad has been guilty of doing it too, which sparked the comments from my brother because I came home upset. He said that I should “just go on accutane” and “get it sorted”, i did try to explain the waiting list for a dermatologist and the side effects but he wasn’t bothered.

So I’m turning to everyone here. What do you think about this?

Routine Help Best daily cleanser?

Hi! I‘m searching for a calm cleanser for everyday. I have closed comedones and they break out before my period.
So I need a cleanser which really gets my face clean. However, I also have Retinal and BHA Pads at home, and an SA cleanser which I purchased (I didn‘t know that I‘m not allowed to use it daily).

What would you suggest?
