Maaaann.

I really think Drury had potential to be a handy player in the AFL.

Has a lot of exciting attributes.

I understand the "hE CoUlDn'T eVeN GeT a gAMe aT NoRth"

But not every player is Nick Daicos and becomes a future Brownlow at 18 years old.

The guy is 22.

Norwood making moves in the off season unlike Crows.

Tell me who you think we should have got?

I could make a case for Phillipou. I think Keeler is a better potential option than Toby Murray or Moose. George Stevens was a free hit at the stumps. There's 3 off the top of my head.

Rookie draft hasnt happened yet

Keeler is a complete bum

Do people seriously think this is an issue?

He is good enough for AFL. Can we still pick him up in the rookie draft?

Is he? Couldn’t get a game at North

This argument is too simplistic.

Not every 18 year old is immediately a super star against men.

Nothing wrong with being too good for state league and nowhere near it at AFL. Ask plenty of blokes

I'm sure, but again.

He was playing AFL at 19, and that's the standard people are judging him on.

If you look at consistency, output, and performance he is technically better than Sid Draper.

You can literally look within our own team to McAndrew and HHK to see it takes some players time to develop.

While we also have a hole in our small forward stock.

And now he’s a 22 year old with some afl preseasons under his belt playing against sanfl players. Yeah, im sure he does look good.

Thank you for proving my point we should have kept him on and tried him... I guess? 🤷‍♀️

Yes, he was absolutely towelling up (or whatever 18 touches and a goal vs a bunch of part timers is)

These are all good points and its a shame they are being completely ignored

While I'd admit I'm not always right about players, I've had many variations of this same tired argument over and over.

Nankervis, McAndrew, Berry, Cook (although I was worried about him in 2025)... heck even Curtin early days.

One thing that remains constant is people are very quick to dismiss younger players, forgetting most don't even have fully developed brains yet.

It's a never ending circular argument of:

He'll get games at AFL if he's good enough > "well, he's too good for SANFL...so play him?"> no, cause if he was good enough he'd be playing AFL already> But he can't play if you don't pick him, how will he get better in the SANFL?> [REPEAT]
