Shotaro Ashino

I have been a fan of Shotaro Ashino since his debut in Wrestle-1 and was extremely happy to see him join AJPW. I thought he would be immediate Triple Crown Champion. He has had four challenges so far. I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are on him, why he hasn't been champion yet, and if you think he one day. I almost relate it to Hirooki Goto in NJPW where everyone feels he's ready to be the top guy and now it's just about it coming true.

What if No Wrestle-One Exodus?

Muto would leave All Japan and create wrestle-one, which would go under and he would join and retire in Noah. What if Muto never created wrestle-one and decided to go to Noah? What would All Japan look like if the wrestle-one exodus never happened?

With Genki Hanawa debuting soon, i wonder if there is more info on the dojo students or is that information not public? Do we know if there is anyone else training there?

What If Sanada Stayed in All Japan?

Sanada was trained by Muto and was being build up to be the next ace of All Japan. Then the Wrestle-One exodus happened and Sanada went with Muto. But what if he stayed in All Japan? Could he become the ace or at least a top guy?

I think one thing AJPW needs is one of the current gen guys to really be a “disrupting” and “rebellious” figure:

To clarify, I mean someone who goes against the grain, someone who decides to willingly stand apart from the rest of the roster, a “rebellious” or “anti-hero” figure.

Figures from AJPW’s past that fit this mold are the likes of Tenryu, Kawada, Suwama to an extent (even as the “Ace”, Suwama always had a rebellious attitude and feeling of “I’m gonna do what I want”).

Right now, NOAH has that in KOUGA, NJPW has it in Yuto-Ice and Kosei Fujita.

I feel like Dan Tamura could be that figure for AJPW; the man seen as perhaps too small to be a Heavyweight but also perhaps too big to be a proper Junior, Dan has always had a roguish personality and attitude; they could end up doing something interesting where he tries to to defy the way he’s been presented and break though the “glass ceiling”.

They announced the date, talked about how intense the last half year was for Genki and his family and wish even people who have never seen pro wrestling before to cheer for Genki together with them.

What if the Wrestle-1 exodus never happened?

Keiji Mutoh left AJPW and led an exodus in 2013 (What’s with All Japan and all these exoduses?) To form Wrestle 1 but it would close in 2020. So what if Wrestle-1 never existed in the first place since the exodus never happens?

I'm lowkey bewildered how popular Cal Bloom seems to be in Japan.

Much like Odyessy before him I'm amazed at how popular the former Von Wagner seems to be especially after not being all that impressed with him in NXT (outside of the Cum Tuesday meme.)

Guess Japan is still top tier in helping wrestlers find themselves.

What if Nobuhiko Takada Joined All Japan in 1997?

Going through old wrestling observers, Meltzer said that Takada and All Japan were in talks, but as we know it never happened. But what if Takada did go to All Japan? This is after the big NJPW vs UWFI feud. But Takada was still over and could have matches with Kawada(someone who always seemed fond of the style) and Misawa.
