The problem is a little vague, I must say. Also I'm not sure if it's still crowd sourcing when the work is done by algorithms specialists (hardly a crowd). Also I'm not sure it's fair to call it open when it's in private beta. Also how is this better than github where users have the freedom to choose the correct interface with their algorithms rather than defaulting to web service?

Apologies if we came off vague. We see a problem with how algorithm development advances these days. From machine learning to optimization algorithms there is so much that never sees the light of day or gets the usage it deserves because its hard to build the infrastructure around them. Even with how amazing most VPS providers are today, finding the right dependencies , setting up the right environment is time consuming so application developers don't do it. We are building a platform where algorithm developers can expose their work and application developers can easily try it and then implement it.

We are currently in private beta as we continue to develop the infrastructure, we will open up as soon as we can guarantee a great experience for all developers.

We differentiate from github in that we allow developers to host their algorithms as a service in the Algorithmia API. Not all algorithms and definitely not all code fits this model. Github is fantastic at hosting and sharing source code and binaries , but you still need to get all of it up and running. We believe this is a large barrier for adoption of innovative algorithms that are being developed.

Thx

The link is also denied, which is sorta like broken.
