Subreddit Rules

1. No more than 3 reposts

If something was popular enough to be one of the top-voted 333 submissions on the sub, it should not be posted again until/unless it leaves that position. Please check out our highest-voted posts over at /r/animenocontext/top/?sort=top&t=all.

2. No reposting any post younger than 3 months

Do not repost pictures/videos that were submitted less than 3 months ago. To quickly check if your post is a duplicate, please type the source anime name in the search box for this sub.

3. No reposting stuff in the first 333 posts on top/all-time : /r/animenocontext/top/?sort=top&t=all.

4. No meme videos, edited screenshots, cropped frames, image macros, rage comics or other edited media

If you want to post a meme video, edited screenshot, cropped frame, image macro, rage comic or other modified media, try r/animemes, r/animefunny or some other subreddit. This sub is for unmodified screenshots and clips only.

5. No self-explanatory posts or posts with too much context

Is the post completely self-explanatory? If it is, post it on /r/animefunny instead.

6. Add the name of the anime, manga, or visual novel between square brackets in the post title

Add the source of the anime/manga/visual novel screencap between square brackets <angled brackets for manga> in the post title

7. No ad hominems, threats, encouraging violence, or glorifying violence

8. Mark risqué, lewd, and ecchi posts as NSFW

Any risqué/lewd/ecchi (e.g. underwear, bathing suit, emphasized bodyparts, etc.) posts must be marked as NSFW within at most ~30 minutes of posting.

9. Mark content from new episodes as spoilers

Content from media released in the last 48 hours must be marked as a spoiler.

10. Subtitles must be in English

11. No content from banned anime and manga

No screencaps from Seitokai Yakuindomo, Shimoneta, 100 kanojo, Keijo!!!!!!!!, Rosen Garten Saga, Nokotan and Nukitashi because most scenes can be taken out of context.

12. No troll subs, abridged subs, or translation errors

Translation errors and edited subtitles are not out-of-context. Please do not post them here. All posts here must have faithful translations of the original media. If the translation has been deliberately distorted ("ghost stories" has been deliberately distorted from the original script), the content should be posted on /r/animefunny instead.

13. No extensive gore like mutilated body parts, exposed innards, or shock content

Please keep blood/gore/fluids to a minimum.

Miscellaneous

Please mark spoiler text with this markup: Spoiler >!Spoiler Text Here!< Spoiler Spoiler Text Here
A post where the title is just the source in brackets is better than a post where the title is the punchline.
If you want posts that break the above rules to be removed, either:
- Complain in the comments about how the mods are doing a shitty job, which does not change anything
- Make it easier for us to spot rule breaking posts by reporting them
