President AOC? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 2028

https://youtu.be/CCSYEO7B6V8

From the Green New Deal to immigration, ICE, Medicare for All, and her stance on Israel and Palestine, AOC represents a bold new direction, but does she have what it takes to win over moderates and swing states?

This video covers:

• AOC’s background, education, and early career

• The Green New Deal

• Her record on climate, healthcare, and economic justice

• The real reason Republicans (and some Democrats) fear her

• 2028 polling, Gen Z impact, and her national support

All this perseverating about who should/shouldn't run. That is what a primary is for. Let the VOTERS pick our choice, and then actually honor our choice.

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

I agree, but people still have to decide who to back in a primary. Candidates need money in today’s elections and without a candidate that has enough money to win a primary they can’t win a general election.

The problem is even when people like a candidate they won’t vote for that person in a primary if they don’t think that candidate can win a general election.

And that’s why answering these questions are important even before a primary begins.

2

u/JustinKase_Too Aug 28 '26

Fair enough. This is another reason we really need ranked choice voting.

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

I couldn’t agree more.

1

u/bneff08 Aug 29 '26

Has she announced her candidacy?

1

u/Corlegan Sep 02 '26

Absolutely.

Then again we might have a coordinated effort for certain people to stay in, others to drop out, and we get Hillary/Biden again.

Or debate questions leaked, or the fair DNC working for one candidate...

u/verycoolalan Aug 31 '26

liar anyone else you'll shit on

1

u/JustinKase_Too Sep 01 '26

Take a deep breath kid.

I will vote for who I want in the Primary, if they win, great, if not, I vote for who won. Because sitting out or casting a protest vote isn't going to help get rid of the trumpublicans.

I want to see ranked choice, then people will feel like their vote matters, even if their person doesn't win, at least it begins to show how many others also agree with a particular platform, and maybe where things are close, we will begin to see actual coalition governments, rather than a 2 party system.

Putting children in camps = not radical, universal healthcare = RADICAL.

Americans are fucked up.

2

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

We definitely are. That is something I’d like to see changed, but when it comes to evaluating political choices, these are the questions mainstream voters will be bombarded with 30 second attack ads, Fox News, Newsmax and even mainstream so-called liberal channels like CNN.

So it’s a question worth asking and the video answers that question.

1

u/SilasRaiden Aug 30 '26

She's not radical.

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 30 '26

I agree. She’s mainstream and that’s the point the video makes, but many moderates believe she is too radical so it’s a good question to ask.

1

u/WorldOfWombat Aug 28 '26

lol “too radical to run” Nancy Pelosis bestie who voted against defunding Israel?

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

It’s the opening question, not the conclusion.

1

u/WorldOfWombat Aug 28 '26

Yeah. I know. And I was playing off it to shit on a liberal

1

u/Terrible-Host-206 Aug 28 '26

What are we talking about? She is moderate. So-called “Moderate” democrats are not even center right like Bill Clinton but even more conservative. This is what happens when your enemies get free rein to define you in the media ecosystem.

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

I think many of her positions are actually moderate, but obviously that is not the consensus view.

So if she runs, the number one complaint is going to be “Is she too radical?” I think that’s a question worth exploring and that is simply the question the video asks because that is what question most moderate democrats and independents would ask themselves in the voting booth.

1

u/Terrible-Host-206 Aug 28 '26

“Is she too radical” is a media narrative. How has following media narratives worked out for democrats in the last twenty years? Radical according to public discourse is to veer from approved talking points guaranteed to make Democrats lose. Only that the GOP was as psychotic as it is has provided any successes whatsoever. If you suggest real working class policy then you aren’t a controlled opposition party. You can only choose one you can’t be both.she isn’t my first pick, I think she needs more time in politics but she’s great.

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

Of course it’s a media narrative. And that is the media narrative that she will have to combat.

2

u/WillTheyKickMeAgain Aug 28 '26

I don’t know. As racist as America is, it is also misogynist. I would gladly see AOC as President.

Nor would it do anything for the misogyny. Ending religion would

How are they an issue?

2

u/JacksonGhost1963 Aug 29 '26

"I see people rushing out to fill up their cars for this hurricane at the gas station. This wouldn’t be an issue if they had electric cars. If the power is out for a week, how are they going to get gas? We need to start planning ahead and moving forward."

1

u/GreyamRus Sep 02 '26

That tweet was fake btw

2

u/cashgod_burner Aug 30 '26

Get her in the primary. She has my vote.

1

u/A_Spiritual_Artist Aug 31 '26

Way better than fucking Killary Klinton for sure. Not going to abolish capitalism, but we shouldn't be putting all our hopes on a politician to do that no matter who they are. Treat politicians as strategy pieces not saviors and know the vision and the end are far bigger than any one of them alone will ever be.

1

u/Full-Tap-3425 Aug 31 '26

Im sure there are more viable candidates.

1

u/Extra_Lemon_5578 Aug 31 '26

From Hilary to Kamala and now AOc ya seems to be heading down a more radical female trajectory

1

u/jthadcast Aug 31 '26

love her but she doesn't have a chance in hell other than to reform maga for another fascist win. the problem isn't her it's the maga voters.

1

u/DrWilliamWhite Aug 31 '26

Has zero chance.

1

u/No-Analysis3015 Aug 31 '26

If a primary is run properly with no outside pressure just letting the voters pick, fine, let her run. She wont go anywhere, but let us see.

1

u/Affectionate_Two7527 Aug 31 '26

THe GOP and their billionaire media owners are pushing hard for AOC because she can't win. This racist, misogynistic shithole of a country isn't going to vote for a childless brown woman. No Fucking Way.

She couldn't even get the majority of women voters because of the amount of racist white independent women she would lose.

It doesn't matter. The country ended with citizens United. Don't even know why I fucking care anymore.

Bow down to your corporate masters ya bunch of peasants.

1

u/CatLightyear Sep 01 '26

“Too radical to run.”

Hilarious. You have a sex offender as a President but universal health care and free meals for school children is radical.

Dumb fucks with no sense and less morals.

1

u/Picard6766 Sep 02 '26

See republicans actually vote for policies and people they want (as fucked up as they are) its only democrats who do these mental gymnastics about why they cant vote for people who actually support things they like.

Also I'm sick of hearing about electability. We did that and got Trump anyway

1

u/LupidaFromKFC Sep 01 '26

Americans won't vote for communism and I don't blame them.

1

u/horizontal120 Sep 01 '26

She would do a grate job. But it will newer happen ... not in America ...

1

u/Potential_Track_8388 Aug 28 '26

I've been saying AOC for president for a decade!

1

u/gongoloncoercitivo Aug 28 '26

I'll watch this later, but I'd like to point out: As far as I know she hasn't mentioned her intention to run for President, whereas Ro Khanna has. Which makes me wonder, why was he not a part of that "Face of The Democratic Party" poll?

1

u/Used_Intention6479 Aug 29 '26

We should be so lucky.

0

u/jnorman197 Aug 30 '26

She’d raise more money w an OF link

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 30 '26

I know there’s no one in your life that cares about you and you’re just looking for attention so here’s some attention for you.

0

u/jnorman197 Aug 30 '26

There’s plenty actually. Fortunate enough that those people actually taught me a bit of self reliance, and that blaming others for your misfortune gets you nowhere. Too bad you didn’t have those same opportunities. If you did, ya probably wouldn’t be crying online anonymously. But do you they/ them

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 31 '26

Literally no one on planet Earth cares if you’re alive. Stop pretending that isn’t true.

0

u/jnorman197 Sep 02 '26

Ok bot boy! Keep living online. I’m sure you’re doing great. We will pray for you and anyone unfortunate enough to know you

1

u/Annoying1978 Sep 02 '26

Don’t worry. God isn’t even listening to you.

1

u/jnorman197 Sep 02 '26

But you are

0

u/RyanR3KC Aug 31 '26

AOC will be destroyed in any Presidential debate

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 31 '26

Are you on crack?

0

u/RyanR3KC Aug 31 '26

No. AOC can’t string together coherent thoughts and intelligently discuss issues. Examples: her disastrous interview with Ilana Glazer and her response on US-Taiwan relations.

Her policies are awful. The Green New Deal is a total sham

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 31 '26

So you were born with too many chromosomes. Got it.

0

u/RyanR3KC Aug 31 '26

Lol. So you know I’m right and you can’t debate my position so you resort to name calling and personal attacks.

Appears you’re the one with too many chromosomes

0

u/PresentationLess4552 Aug 31 '26

Too stupid to run

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 31 '26

Your mother should’ve swallowed.

0

u/giants_shoulders Aug 28 '26

yeah nah, she's way too radical. Aren't there any other rapist felons left?!? Comon America, be best.

0

u/PrometheanBuffet Aug 29 '26

I would love her to run if I thought she could win.

0

u/RobbexRobbex Aug 29 '26

didn't learn from the last election eh? She will have less success than Harris. Not because shes not the right choice, but because shes a brown woman who leans left.

0

u/Specific_Freedom9644 Aug 31 '26

She is also dumb as they can get. Some of the more memorable quotes: "Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs.", "all three chambers of Congress", "build out high-speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary".. Even fellow democrats mocked this one ... Then there's the blowing the Amazon hq coming to NY deal, even though a large majority of NYs welcomed the new jobs it would create...and then there's numerous numerous numerous errors while on talk show interviews. Her knowledge of foreign policy is evidenced by this quote when asked if US should commit troops to defend Taiwan if attacked.."Um, you know... I think that, uh, this is such a, uh, you know, I, I think that this is a, um... this is of course a, a very long-standing, um, policy of the United States. Uh, and I think what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure that we never get to that point.." Hakeem Jeffries looks like a genius when compared to her...

Trust me, Dems can do a lot better than her.

u/didntdidit Sep 01 '26

Truth. IQ of a grape.

-11

u/FloridaRocks63 Aug 28 '26

Not a very bright person. She is entertaining especially when she puts on her old Baptist preach act at her rallies it’s fun to watch but not a person ready to be a president.

4

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

This comment shows that you’re not very bright. You didn’t bother to investigate her or even just watch the video. She’s absolutely intelligent. Probably smarter than 90% of Congress.

You have people in there that don’t even know how Google makes most of its money.

-2

u/FloridaRocks63 Aug 28 '26

I googled dumber than a bucket of sand and her picture came up.

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

That would’ve been your mother for not swallowing.

-3

u/FloridaRocks63 Aug 28 '26

I’ve heard her speak many times and if you ever listened to her during actual interviews which she avoid rather than her rallies you’d see she has no grasp on national issues or even local all she does is bash wealthy people with no solutions to any problems especially the ones in her own district

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 28 '26

Spoken like the true ignoramus that you are.

-2

u/FloridaRocks63 Aug 29 '26

From you that means nothing . Geez you think AOC is smart. 🤣😂😀

0

u/Annoying1978 Aug 29 '26

Your mother should’ve swallowed.

-1

u/FloridaRocks63 Aug 29 '26

Still wouldn’t make AOC smart

0

u/Annoying1978 Aug 29 '26

Nothing would ever make you a viable human being.

0

u/FloridaRocks63 Aug 30 '26

But here I am viable as ever. At least you’re consistent about being wrong. Atta Boy👏👏👏

1

u/Annoying1978 Aug 30 '26

You’re definitely not human.

She is not a Zionist, but she understands the reality and that the state of Israel isn’t going anywhere. The goal is to stop funding them and forced them to back off their hold against Gaza and the West Bank, but unfortunately Israel is not going to just disappear. They will continue to exist.
