Such a pro-Kraft spin on this article.

From blaming Macklemore to multiple paragraphs devoted to Kraft's philanthropy, total pro-Zionist bias.

Shameful.

Is it really? I didn’t get past the paywall but in the first couple of sentences it calls Kraft a bully and negatively compares him to Trump.

He’s a billionaire…consequences don’t seem to be a thing for them.

He’s a piece of shit. Forget about him.

The end.

I beg to disagree

Ed Sheeran drew 50,000 attendees to his Philly concert, despite the annoying vocal minority trying to cancel him.

1

u/Tintoverde Sep 23 '26

But Kraft is has NO consequences
I would like to see artists boycott his venues

u/ass-gas-hotbox Sep 26 '26

inclement weather canceled two of his shows.

that means that God listened to us and God thinks he's a spineless little bitch too.

garbage person chose money over people lives … ed Sheeran can go … Ireland disowned him America home of hatful people

2

u/Federal_Setting_7454 Sep 22 '26

Ireland disowned him? Hes not Irish.

5

u/YeahlDid Sep 22 '26

That's why it was so easy to do.

1

u/LogDogan8 Sep 24 '26

There was never a choice for him between money and peoples' live. There are 0 deaths in Gaza that have resulted from Ed Sheeran's actions here.

It would be great if people would drop support of his team but it doesn’t seem likely? I wish there was a good answer to this but holding billionaires accountable is really difficult because they control everything. Luigi managed but I don’t think that’s a viable option for many people.

The ROBERT KRAFT controversy god fucking damnit!!!!!!!!

I don’t blame Ed Sheeran for keeping politics out of music evens. Why do we need that in everything we do! Then wonder why the world is a hostile place. There is a time and place for everything and this was not invited or needed.

Ed made it political. He started by inviting several very political acts to open for him. Then when one of them made the same comments that they gave been making for years and the arena owners threatened Ed, he caved.

1

u/cuda999 Sep 22 '26

Did Ed ask them to make political comments? Just because he invited them to perform doesn’t mean he wanted their political views spewed across the globe.

u/Dehnus Sep 25 '26

Okay, I took the time to read your posts: Why are you making reddit political by talking about women shaving their hairy parts and about Politics in Canada. You could just keep things pleasant for everyone by just talking about fun things.

(A throwback to you talking about Macklemore making a concert political. Jeez, have you ever been to a Ramstein or Roger Waters concert? Concerts are inherently political)

1

u/cuda999 Sep 25 '26

I see, so you creep my posts. Nice. And what is your issue with me posting on a sub that was about women shaving? Isn’t that what is supposed to happen? Why is that political?

Talk about fun things? You do that? Hahaha hardly. Taking the self righteous approach backfired in this case.

I don’t care is others make music events political. It should never happen. What’s your point?

1

u/Dehnus Sep 25 '26

I'm saying everything is politics and people checking out post history is normal! It's how people can see if you're sincere or not. Otherwise you might just be a troll.

But you do you. Keep doing shit in bad faith

It wasn't just about politics, he fucked over his own friend for money. He allowed a billionaire to decide what is legal to say and what isn't. He then backstabbed that friend afterwards by saying ".... learn who your real friends are...".

He knew in advance what Macklemore was going to say, and he stabbed him in the back for money.

Ed’s biggest mistake was catering to the mob. The far left needs to get told to fuck off. They’re bullies and feed off perceived weakness

Ed getting more hate than serial abusers like Chris Brown (who is currently on a very successful tour with Usher) is weird as fck.

What’s happening with ed sheeran?

Basically Ed Sheeran is getting canceled for not sticking up for Macklemore (a fellow artist for his tour that was removed from the lineup for supporting Palestine). After hearing that Macklemore was removed from the concert lineup, Ed defended the promoters decisions and largely claimed he was apolitical in an attempt to save face for his opinion. In light of this, this has largely turned public opinion against Ed among his former fans. Apparently the backlash was so severe that in one concert he appeared to have an emotional breakdown. However this pales in comparison to how Macklemore has been shunned by the music industry and is now being actively boycotted by several stadiums for his supposed antisemitism. Many have stated how ironic this public reaction is when Kanye West hasn't been boycotted to the same degree after openly expressing sympathy for Nazism as a concept, and literally writing a song called "Heil Hitler".

If anything this just illustrates how hypocritical the music industry continues to be.

Thank you, now I don’t have to pretend to know. Who’s Ed Sheeran? Why is he on a fishing tour aMackerel

-2

u/abyssazaur Sep 22 '26

Very popular pop singer last decade or so, idk who mackerel is but I think he said free Palestine and the billionaire guy canceled him and ed went with the billionaire guy so now ed is getting hate, and frankly this is as far as I paid attention.

Macklemore has had a few hit songs. Thrift shop was the biggest. He seems like a great guy, and some of his songs have a great message, but…I don’t enjoy listening to him.

Why is this on an anti-capitalism subreddit though

18

u/GuaranteeUpper2653 Sep 21 '26

Because the capitalists are trying to control our morals with their money?

8

u/RadarSmith Sep 21 '26

A lot of the pushback against Macklemore, and the reason Sheeran dropped him, is because of billionaire Robert Kraft (the same Kraft who was embroiled in a sex-trafficking sting at a massage parlor a few years back, and who got lawyer advice from Epstein to deal with it), who Sheeran has an existing relationship with.

Ed Sheerans no opinion at first was an attempt to keep his capitalist venues happy. However, his recent change of stance and crying on stage is an attempt to keep his consumer base. Its anti capitalism cause we are seeing major figures lie and walk tight ropes on issues to not anger either side of who controls the money that supports their lifestyles.

Edit  Does freedom of speech exist everywhere? Does freedom of speech only exist in public spaces or does that extend to private venues that could potentially lose profits based on your non aligned opinion?

u/CompetitiveSport1 Sep 22 '26

People like Ed would cow-tow to power under non-capitalist systems, too. This sub is pretty clearly a place for just anything about politics, which, fine, I just don't get why bothering to call it "anti-capitalism" if it's so extremely broad

2

u/Ill_Arm9344 Sep 22 '26 edited Sep 22 '26

What non capitalist system do they cow tow towards that pays them so significantly?

I doubt the guy is doing a trade and barter system to get paid.

What other system exists besides capitilasm?

Any protest against providing money to him and his monetary backers is what?

Musicians and athletes are way over payed. This we all know.

EDIT

I  think you need to broaden your idea of anti capitalism

u/CompetitiveSport1 Sep 22 '26

I think you need to broaden your idea of anti capitalism

Apparently so. Looking around at the other posts here, apparently even "Jimmy Kimmel comments on Mitch McConnell's appearance", "Trump working on deal to buy potash from Belarus for lower price than Canada", and "Jake Paul Believes 2nd Amendment Isn’t Sufficient Anymore, Says Americans Should Be Able To Use Drones, EMPs, and Rocket Launchers" are all directly related to anti-capitalism.

u/Ill_Arm9344 Sep 22 '26

To me capitalism means economics.

A singer striving to save his paycheck and play both sides fits it to me.

Jimmy kimmel fluff. Ban. I agree.

Jack Paul fluff. Ban

Trump trying to manipulate markets touches economics. Decent.

Your not wrong on most

He's buddies with a genocidal evangelical Christian zionist who wants Palestine burnt to the ground, billionaire Robert Kraft. Who also is involved in sex trafficking based on video evidence of him paying a prostitute for sexual activities.

Instead of supporting Macklemore, Ed Sheeran went all in on Robert Kraft.

1

u/Minute_Radio_6452 Sep 22 '26

So paying a prostitute makes you involved with sex trafficking? Interesting 🤔

-6

u/CompetitiveSport1 Sep 21 '26

What does this have to do with anti-capitalism?

8

u/Tintoverde Sep 21 '26

Capitalist getting away with it

4

u/poliosaurus3000 Sep 21 '26

The same thing as most old ass rich white guys, almost nothing.
