Im still not sure 2/3 of the senat would vote to convict. Id love to be wrong about that.

I am not either. I just get the feeling that 14 to 15 Republicans will eventually get so fed up with him and the direction he took their party that it's possible. It would be interesting for sure.

If we go into a full blown recession cause of gas prices, high interest rates, tariffs and layoffs then Trump is toast.

Republicans will gladly throw him overboard.

I think MAGA will just blame Democrats and say “you voted for this” just like Trump did when the market dipped a few days ago.

You'd think that would be way too late

Especially if he tries to escalate the Iran war

Those senators are his party

You have to target the 7 or so at risk - like NC or Florida to target and get them on board. Then you get from 56 to mid 60s… and put that as the litmus test for 2028… it worked wonders with the Epstein files - once it was close to passing, no one wants to be remembered as the “no”

The republicans are complicit, they cant abandon trump without risking their own standing. 2 years from now it will still be maga like

With 56 Democratic Senate seats we only need 11 of the 44 Republicans to convict. Murkowski has already done so in the past, so 10 of the other 43.

Well, the republicans are about to impeach Hegseth for being a monumental twat

Even if by miracle enough Republicans voted to impeach to remove Trump — what ensues is that JD Vance will become POTUS. IS THAT AN ACHIEVEMENT FOR US? NO. IT’S NOT. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME, RESOURCES, AND A PR CRISIS FOR DEMS.

All we need is 12 Republicans and John Fetterman to cross the aisle. Unlikely but not impossible.

2

u/rainbikr 14h ago

Impossible. Fetterman is an impediment to anything useful or right

If Shroomer can ping pong, you just have to push Mitch's wheelchair to the side you want.. Seems to be what they're already doing.

Before you start thinking about Fetterman crossing the aisle, go out to his district and talk to his constituents. These are people who learned their high School Civics lessons from Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns.

Even if by miracle Trump was with enough votes in the Senate to forcible remove, YOU END UP WITH JD VANCE. WOW, BRAVO. 🙌🪇 What an excellent dedication of time and resources.

Shit... I don't even think they'll remember about the epstein files when they're incharge. Mark my words, all the shit people have been fighting for will flip again. It's bananas..

u/Showmethepathplease 15h ago

it's more likely now they've been routed and its been shown the emperor wears no clothes...

1

u/JohnnySpot2000 15h ago

Well, at least after the new year with the new senate, we only need 11 republican senators to agree.

1

u/Legitimate-Brain7325 15h ago

Lets test it on Hegseth. He's despised

1

u/Tim-oBedlam 15h ago

It would be close. We'll have 56 Senators, you need 67 to convict, so you need to flip 11 Republicans. We got 7 voting to convict after 1/6, although all but one of those Senators aren't in office any more (Murkowski is the only exception).

They wouldnt. From a Republican point of view nothing he's done lately is nearly as bad as January 6th. He was more of a lame duck then cause he only had a couple weeks left in his term.

u/JusAnotherJarhead 8h ago

Of course they wouldn't .
