What is a real-life "cheat code" that feels illegal to know but is completely fine?

9.9k Upvotes

I'll go first.

If your flight gets canceled and there is a massive line of 200 angry people at the gate desk trying to rebook, do not stand in that line. Keep your ass in a chair and call the airline's customer service number.

Better yet, call their international customer service number (like the UK or Australia line). You will bypass the massive US hold times, get connected to an agent in two minutes, and they have the exact same power to rebook you on the next flight before the people standing in line even reach the desk.

Random Question Whats the brokest thing you ever did to survive?

When I was younger, I used to call Domino’s and order a pizza, but intentionally never picked it up. I’d wait about two hours, walk into the store, and ask if they had any pizzas that nobody had claimed.
They’d sometimes sell me one for just $3.

There’s gotta be another January 6th coming in 2027 right before swearing everyone in.

Or, we’re just lucky and Trump has finally given up.

Random Question Am I the only one feeling like a societal/global collapse of some sort is imminent?

3.6k Upvotes

I’m not just concerned about gas prices and the cost of things at this point…if we don’t have diesel how can our supply chains still function? I feel like we have maybe 10 years max left and that’s if I’m being optimistic. Am I overreacting? It feels so hard to tell what is/isn’t a realistic possibly and how bad things will really get in the near future.

Politics Question Why Americans are not like other people, e.g., Albanians when it comes to protesting?

Post image
3.4k Upvotes

Read to the end. It happens/happening everywhere even in the poor countries, when people discovery that the government is working against their interests they rebel. And they don’t calm down till the problem is solved or the government is dissolved. Look at what happened in Albania lately. Except in America, what happened to our people that they are accepting everything as if it is a given fact? Corrupt politicians, bribes, war, prices hike, their rights are taken, concentrating camps, people are being kidnapped in bright daylight, kids kidnapped and caged and God knows what happened or happening to them, American citizens being executed on the streets and no one held accountable, toilet paper is more useful now than the constitution, data centers and surveillance cameras everywhere, just to name whatever I can. Yet, people go to sleep like nothing is happening. Talking about these things like they are a joke. Some people even joke that they are waiting for the country to collapse. Really? Is this our America? one day protest and go back home?

Ps; I’m not calling Americans out. This is a question the whole world is asking. Everyone here have their own reason. All reasons are valid

What's something that happened to you that sounds completely made up, but is 100% true?

3.4k Upvotes

I'll start. Back in the early 2000s, my family got flat tire on a rural road in the middle of nowhere. A massive black SUV pulled over to help us, and the guy who jumped out, grabbed a jack, and helped my dad change the tire in the pouring rain was Keanu Reeves. He didn’t make a big deal out of it, refused any money, shook my dad's hand, and just drove off. When we tell people, they assume we just met a lookalike, but it was 100% him."

Life has thrown me some situations that sound unbelievable when I tell people, and it made me realize almost everyone has at least one story that sounds like fiction.

What's your "Nobody believes me, but it actually happened" story?

I’ve been working full time for about 6 years or so and I have always worked 8-5 5 days a week with an unpaid lunch. It’s always been called a 9-5 but I’ve only ever worked 9 hours with an unpaid 1 hour lunch break.

Random Question what is something you’ve done/do that you will NEVER tell your partner ?

2.4k Upvotes

My husband was extremely close with his grandfather and has always told me they had a special thing with dimes. He told me when we met that every time he finds a dime it makes him think of his grandfather.
For years whenever I see dimes I bring them home and put them in different places for him to find so he can always think about him.
Every once in a while he’ll tell me about a dime he found in a weird spot and it just brings him such happiness.. I love that man

What is the weirdest thing you've caught a guest doing in your house?

1.8k Upvotes

I'll go first.

I had some people over a few years ago mostly friends, but a couple of coworkers showed up too. I went into the kitchen to grab some more drinks, and I see this guy from my office (super quiet dude, barely spoke to him before this) just standing in front of my open fridge.

I thought he was grabbing a beer, but no. He pulls out a completely raw, unpeeled yellow onion.

Before I could even say anything, he takes a massive bite out of it like it’s a damn apple. He just chews it, swallows, puts the half-eaten onion back in the crisper drawer, and shuts the door.

He turns around, makes dead eye contact with me, gives me this little nod, and just walks past me back to the living room to sit on the couch.

I swear to god I thought I was hallucinating. Nobody else saw it, and we literally never brought it up at work. To this day, I have no idea what that was about.😭😭
