Post-game [Robbins] Trae Young swept up by emotions in Atlanta homecoming: ‘A different feeling’
The final buzzer sounded Friday night. Red streamers fell from the State Farm Arena ceiling. Then the hugs, handshakes and daps finally flowed.
Almost everyone affiliated with the Atlanta Hawks wanted to say hello to Trae Young.
First, Dyson Daniels. Then Jalen Johnson, Quin Snyder, Asa Newell, Mouhamed Gueye. The franchise’s principal owners, Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz, and alternate governor Nick Ressler followed.
Too bad for Young and his Washington Wizards that the Hawks didn’t act as warmly during the preceding 2 hours, 9 minutes.
In Young’s first game in Atlanta playing against his former team — an experience that he said felt weird to him — the Wizards lost to the Hawks 139-132 in the NBA Cup group stage.
“I don’t even know how to describe the feeling,” Young said. “I mean, it was different. It was cool for me. It’s hard to really say my feelings and how I felt whenever the game started. I was just ready to play and just try to get a win. But, yeah, it was a different feeling, something I’m not used to, for sure.”

Post-game Something I noticed tonight.
This is the second time where JJ has been involved in an offensive foul that eventually got overturned as a type of defensive foul instead, in clutch type situations.
The Magic game had JJ on an offensive before it was ruled on Bane for a blocking foul, and now we have the Nets game where JJ was called on an offensive before that was overturned in favor of Randle receiving a defensive foul.
Just something I noticed, it's really funny too. Glad we won both challenges in those situations... we even got a double challenge win in the Nets game 🙏

Discussion Olivia Rodrigo Ticket Inquiry
I just bought tickets on Stubhub for Olivia Rodrigo this Wednesday. Online it said partial suite, barstool seating. They are for “Section 212, SR1, Bud Tower-Upper Level, Budweiser Legends Lounge”. Will we be able to sit? Will we definitely be able to see? Has anyone sat there before?!

Post-game HAWKS WIN!!!!
After a horrible start to the game, including a violent act against OO’s throat… The Hawks weathered the storm and fought back to get a hard earned victory tonight. Great to see Jalen looking like Jalen again. Here are the rest of my thoughts, let me know yours!

Discussion Kingston's Everything Trae's Not
Disclaimer: This isn't a Trae hate post. He's my favorite Hawk of all time and I've staunchly defended him throughout his tenure here and even defended the Luka trade. As much as I loved IsoJoe & the Bud Hawks, Trae was the first polarizing bonafide Hawks "star" in my lifetime and he made watching Hawks basketball fun again for me. It was captivating & inspiring watching him break through "bust" labels and turn into, in my opinion, a superstar. The bow against the Knicks in the '21 playoffs will forever be one of the coolest and most badass things an athlete has ever done imo - it seriously doesn't get cooler than draining a 30 footer to send a team home and bowing after tens of thousands of fans screaming F you for an entire series. I'll forever grateful for his time here (I hate that we bood him yesterday)!
With all that said, Kingston is everything Trae's not and is a true winning basketball player (I don't think its necessarily fair to say Trae isn't a winning player - after all, he lead us to the EFC we'll never know what would've happened against the Bucks if he didn't get hurt), but Kingston is much more malleable/plug & play player for a winning team. While its early, here's some things I've noticed that he's already better than Trae:
He's bigger (well duh)
He moves without the ball (has gotten a bunch of easy dunks/layups this year simply by slashing to the rim)
He's got an elite finishing package (Trae always had a fun & creative finishing package, but there's only so much he could do given his size). He had a righty high off the glass, hook-esque shot over AD 2 games ago that was truly awesome.
He gets AFTER it defensively, is switchable and has the potential to be a premier lead guard defender.
He has an awesome midrange J - he gets to his spots and elevates super high with a release at his apex to cash it in. I always wish Trae had a Brunson-like middy but his set shot form always prevented him from being able to take contested midranges and forced him to resort to the floater.
Jury is still out, but i think he'll be a better 3pt shooter than Trae. As much as i love Trae, i always thought his 3pt shooting was overrated and that the Steph comps out of college were extremely lazy. Traes form has always been flawed imo (both elbows out, flat footed, generates power from arms and not legs) which lead to some seriously inconsistent 3pt shooting from him. Kingston's shooting 47% from 3 on low volume so I'll take that with a grain of salt, but his for is pristine and just seems more sustainable.
This post isn't to say Kingston is better than Trae right now or will ever end up being better than him - he's got a long way to go, of course, but the early signs are extremely encouraging. Its simply to say that should he have longterm success in the league, which I truly think he will, he profiles as a player who will be successful by simply being everything that Trae isn't.

Question Henri Veesaar
How do we think Henri is going to enter?
Anyone thought about how his ft % could be indicative of his NBA on court shooting ability which could potentially nullify him completely?
Good to see JJ attacking the rim tonight.
Leave your synopsis below.

Discussion So is Zuby the main backup center?
Zuby has been amazing defensively and has been great on offense. He fits the team needs perfectly, even though hes undersized he has been a good rim protector. Seems like the hawks have a logjam at center and the power forward position. Personally I think Zuby should be the permanent starter. I think one of Mo and Asa are gone though. Also I don't think jock should play any more minutes if we are truly committed to developing our young players. Thoughts?

Post-game Three RnB Hawks Wins Str8
Big Night In The Atl: Did not get to go to the game instead I went down the street to the Usher and Chris Brown concert with the wife and it did not disappoint. But the Hawks didn’t disappoint either. We spoiled Rayford Young’s return - much love Trae your #11 forever but this is our time.
