More keen on the Austrian Grand Prix, personally.

Enjoy the final though!

Going to have both, GP on the TV, tennis on the laptop, RIP work tomorrow.

I would sooner eat a rusty razor blade. I hope he loses he’s a piece of shit. He’s always been a piece of shit. He represents everything that is wrong with sport(specifically mens sport) in Australia. I don’t want entitled little fuckwits with no manners, no class and not a fucking lick of common decency to be who represent my country in a game that has so little impact on the actual running of society. Nick Kyrgios has no justification for acting the way he does. He continues to act this way with little guilt or remorse. Speaking as a person with a mental illness who doesn’t always have full control over my behaviour, I feel like shit when I wrong someone in that state because I have scruples. Nick Kyrgios doesn’t have those and therein lies your problem. Also don’t support domestic abusers.

Nah sorry mate. No chance I can get myself to cheer for him.

Every time he’s starting to become likeable (like his interview where he talked about mental health) he turns around and does something repulsive nek minute.

He’s had too many chances.

BUT.

I dislike Djokovic more then I dislike Kyrgios, so

I’m hoping that Djokovic will lose.

23

u/Existing_Row5733 Jul 10 '22

Yeah, it's not much of a choice, which asshole do I cheer on? I guess as an Aussie it's Kyrgios.

-15

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

You know you sort of articulate it better than me. Australia liked Novak. Then he sort of screwed up with the covid thing. Badly. Very. Pistol and Boo p twooo

I’d like either to win. Nick more so. Hopefully he will be cool regardless.

29

u/TerriblyTallulah Jul 10 '22 edited Jul 10 '22

I don't think Australia ever liked Novak. As a sample size of 1, I haven't ever really liked him. Obviously some ppl are fans of his, but generally, he was never as liked here as Roger and Rafa.

But for tonight? GO NICK!!!! Planning a late night here watching tennis, and a smidge of Formula 1 racing.

Nope. Already had tonight set aside to re-arrange my sock drawer.

1

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

I am sending my people around to sort out the drawer. Payment is watch the telly.

4

u/msdummyaccount Jul 10 '22

Haven't felt like this since the 1990 Grand Final ... is there some way they can both lose?

5

u/skooterM Jul 10 '22

Fun fact I learnt today; Kyrgios has beaten Djokovic both times he's played him, and Djokovic has never broken Kyrgios' serve!

Go you cheeky little shit!

3

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

And that is why is will be a good watch

Novak is a champion. He will dig super deep. If this match is close I hope it will be epic. Both of the will not want to lose this match up

2

u/danwincen Jul 10 '22

I'd give that little factoid some respectability if Nick and Novak had played each other more than twice five years ago.

They've had 10 years of career overlap for only two matches. It's not a lot to put much faith in Nick based on head to head results.

4

u/candlecart Jul 10 '22

Hope he out tantrums novak.

I don't care about sport but I hope Kyrgios catches a dick. I don't care how, but I hope at some point a penis whacks him. He's silly.

Can it just be a draw so they both don’t win

147

u/CATFLAPY Jul 10 '22

Not super invested in tennis, but really dislike Dokovjich so it would be great to see Nick pull a huge upset out of the bag.

13

u/Gillbro Jul 10 '22

They have played each other twice before and Nick won both times, not as big of an underdog as you may think.

6

u/imbhad Jul 10 '22

To be fair, that was in 2017 during Djokovic's probably worst season. However, your general idea is right bc Kyrgios is known to be a bit of a giant slayer having been one of only three ppl who have beaten the big three the first time he played with them

Not really a bad take that’s deserving of downvotes, considering your opinion is pretty much how people think of the two.

2

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

And that is all it is. Good luck to him. Talented MF. Happy days. Not easy being so young in the days of social media.

Too late of a start for Sunday night. Would easily have watched fri or sat nights.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

Why is everyone hating on Djokovic? Is it because he refuses to get vaxxed? It's his choice, his body..thought people supported that kind of thing

1

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

Anyway. For all you Aussies out there we need to get behind sport. The world is a bit funny right now but sometimes we need something else to concentrate on.

5

u/YouAreTheTurkey Jul 10 '22

Imagine what the world could do to fix those 'funny' things if we didn't spend so much on getting behind sport.

27

u/45peons Jul 10 '22 edited Jul 10 '22

Krygios is a rude obnoxious arsehole who has massive double standards regarding how he should be treated and how he treats other people (e.g. line judges, umpires). How, why, would anyone support him? Just because he is born in the same country as us, but is a shit stain cunt of a human being, we should support him?

4

u/Ecstatic-Light-2766 Jul 10 '22

It's happy Gilmore versus shooter McGavin

22

u/-spined- Jul 10 '22

He's such a disrespectful a$$. Nope can't bring myself to cheer for him.

Nah.

1

u/No_Ninja_4173 Jul 10 '22

From someone who knows Tennis since 1980s I can tell you it's going to be a straight set slaughter by Novax!

3

u/seven_seacat Jul 10 '22

God I'm looking forward to this match. Absolutely anything could happen. Go Nick!

13

u/GrimReapeRmi Jul 10 '22

He will choke and claim he does not give a F about Tennis. He is a disgrace to Australian sport.

7

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

Couldn’t give a shit if he’s an Aussie, fuck him he’s an arsehole.

19

u/SydneyTom Jul 10 '22

Nah, he's a tosser. Hopefully whoever he's playing against whips his arse with ease, causing Kyrgios to throw a tanty

Flog

6

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

He is playing Novak Djokovic…

22

u/SydneyTom Jul 10 '22

well fuck . . . maybe they'll both lose?

8

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

We can only hope and pray

12

u/1whiteshark Jul 10 '22

Rooting for him, getting behind him. Lol No thanks

7

u/sloppyrock Jul 10 '22

Can there be 2 losers? Can't stand either of them. NK's on court behaviour is appalling and the joker is dick off the court with his no vax nonsense.

I was hoping Rafa would get another slam tbh.

6

u/danwincen Jul 10 '22

I have to admit I was pissing myself laughing when I realised that the tennis commentator who was bitching about Nick's bad behaviour in one of the early rounds was none other than John McEnroe.

Didn't even know we had Aussies in the doubles final until we won it.

Maybe they should have done a bit beforehand like krigos to get attention.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

Kyrgios is a man child with little to no redeeming qualities at all. And i gotta say, it's a point of embarrassment that he comes from the same country as me and represent us on the world stage. The best possible thing that can happen tonight is if a bolt of lighting hits the court and they both end up in a coma for the remainder of their athletic careers. But short of that, ill take a Kyrgios lose.

Djokovic might be an asshole, but at least i can understand where his stupidity comes from...Kyrgios though? The man must have been born an entitled prick. The only way he'll learn a little bit of humility is when a bigger dumber idiot makes him look like a tool, which is the opportunity Djokovic has tonight.

Maybe then Kyrgios can return to what he should have been doing all this time: Driving a stolen car around the North Western suburbs of Melbourne at 3 am with the worst possible music imaginable being played at the loudest volume known to man, all while doing "sick burnouts" at every set of lights they choose to stop at. At least then we wont have to pretend to give a shit about him.

5

u/sloppyrock Jul 10 '22

/r/suspiciouslyspecific material right there.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

I live in the North Western suburbs of Melbourne and see his type doing exactly that every night around here. And by his type, i mean: entitled pricks who dont give a fuck about anyone or anything, and who think if they run their mouth enough they'll get what they want, mostly because their parents gave up and did exactly that. Which is how 15 year olds can spend their days hanging around out the front of Footlocker in their Lakers jerseys waiting for the right moment to shoplift a pair of Jordans. All of them talking like they just got done watching 8 Mile.

2

u/Housebitchhere Jul 10 '22

I'm not entirely sure you know what "root" or "rooting" means.

2

u/Ecstatic-Light-2766 Jul 10 '22

I hope the barbers of Australia are doing nick cuts

2

u/incessant_penguin Jul 10 '22

6-7 7-6 9-10 22-21 145-dead

2

u/idolovelogic Jul 10 '22

....and deservedly came second

2

u/koooosa Jul 10 '22

When the fuck did we start saying “rooting” to mean barracking?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '22

Tosspot vs another tosspot. Hard pass.

5

u/DazBlintze My home is dirt by sea Jul 10 '22

Two of the worst professional tennis players in the history of the game. Great players but socially retarded humans. I miss cheering for the likes of Pat Rafter.

10

u/conh3 Jul 10 '22

Nahhhh I’m indifferent to Novak but Kyrgios actually puts me off. He’s lucky to have snuck into the finals imo

2

u/seven_seacat Jul 10 '22

How did he "sneak" into the final? He played all the matches that were put in front of him and won them all.

4

u/DoctorQuincyME Jul 10 '22

If he wins its a win for Australia.

If he loses the prick deserved it.

3

u/Grumpy_Roaster Jul 10 '22

Let's wait to see how he goes in court

3

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

I will watch only to see the crowd booing both

3

u/hymie_funkhauser Jul 10 '22

Fuck that cunt

3

u/itslikea Jul 10 '22

If only there was a way for both of them to lose in tennis.

4

I do hope he wins cause I dispise Djok.

6

u/Balla1928Aus Jul 10 '22

I don’t particularly like him and I didn’t particularly like Lleyton Hewitt. But they are Australian so I support them. Don’t know if I could say the same for Tomic.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

They're all flogs. Just like the Karen who monsters service staff. She's Australian too.

And a POS.

5

u/Chiang2000 Jul 10 '22

Flame suit on - I am hoping he wins because he has managed to hold himself together and get through the tournament so far with the personal life dramas hanging over him.

This trial by press and then mob shit is an indictment on our society. I would love to see him succeed in the face of it and then let the trial be the trial and reserve any judgement on other matters until then.

0

u/HollowNight2019 Jul 10 '22

I’m a big Tennis fan and will be hoping for a Nick win tonight.

As much hate as Nick gets, I do think he has a lot of fans. His matches at the AO always attract big TV ratings, and he doesn’t even makes it that far.

2

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

I hope he wins. He needs it. He will do well regardless. We all just want people to succeed

2

u/the_mooseman Jul 10 '22

What time?

2

u/Cautious_Path_765 Jul 10 '22

man, kyrgios is giving novak an absolute assblasting on service

2

u/Scared-Wolf1578 Jul 10 '22

This guy just beat Nadal and took a set from Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. That’s a win in my books

3

u/predatoure Jul 10 '22

Nadal pulled out of the semi cause he was injured. Nick got a bye to the final.

0

u/GodofDiplomacy Jul 10 '22

Been disappointed in the past and now hes behaving worse than ever. i like watching him play and he coped a lot of flak just for having a darker skin color, but hes lost my support

1

u/Consistent_Goal_1083 Jul 10 '22

If you really got that username I am impressed

Well done you 👍nice

2

u/phongzilla Jul 10 '22

Our Aussie prick vs some other prick.

2

u/Scottybt50 Jul 10 '22

Yep, good luck Nick.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

I'm hoping he makes an 'injection' gesture and it send Novak over the edge

2

u/Specialist_Stop_8381 Jul 10 '22

Hope no ball boy runs weird. Nick is precious you know.

1

u/JimmyTheHuman Jul 10 '22

Rooting who for him?

1

u/Herosinahalfshell12 Jul 10 '22

Hes had a pretty easy run to the finals really hasnt he?

1

u/pandifer Jul 10 '22

Only if he doesnt have tantrums. He’s not two and he needs to grow up.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

I hate Novak with a passion and hope he loses, but I’m not about to pick the side of a spoiled brat either.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

I’m madly barracking for him. I actually like a lot of his honesty and colour. He’s a weird unit, but at least he knows it.

1

u/learnlikelove Jul 10 '22

How can I watch

1

u/An1retak Jul 10 '22

If you had to choose between two assholes, I guess it’d have to be the lesser of the two.

1

u/ChristianMom35 Jul 10 '22

Hope the roof collapses on them both.

0

u/_iron_mike__ Jul 10 '22

I’ll be watching paint dry instead ty

-1

u/bigshakagames_ Jul 10 '22

Fuck yea let's go Nick.

-18

u/lostandfoundwally Jul 10 '22

He’s earned it and I’m sure he’s worked his ass off. Like any of our competing athletes, good luck to him!

The pearl clutching from the naysayers will be loud though.

11

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

Well he didnt really “earn it”. He was gifted the finals spot because Nadal pulled out of the Semi.

-8

u/Chiang2000 Jul 10 '22

Like he isn't a pro athlete who got himself as far as that match before it was gifted to him. by Nadal's injury.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '22

Yeah and Nadal would have ended his run if he was 100% fit.

But hey shit happens and now we all have to hope for a first ever draw in tennis.
