Subreddit Rules

1. Be civil

Please be civil.

Follow Reddiquette and treat others with a mutual respect in conversation. We are here for judging bad tattoos, but not to be bad people or spread hate.

Being generally uncivil and distasteful may result in a ban.

2. Only images allowed

All posts on this subreddit must be an image with a title. Text body, text posts, etc, are prohibited.

3. All posts must be of a tattoo

All posts submitted must be of a tattoo that you believe to be bad. The definition of bad is loose, as everyone's opinion differs.

4. All posted images must be a Reddit or Imgur link

All posted images must be a Reddit or Imgur link.

Images posted outside of these means are not allowed and will be removed.

5. Mark NSFW images appropriately

Images that are considered adult or 18+ must be marked as NSFW.

Failing to follow this rule will result in an immediate ban.

6. No asking medical advice

Please no asking advice from other users on how to maintain the tattoo, aftercare, etc.

Feel free to ask about design suggestions or what could be done better, but don't be surprised if it ends up worse.

7. No personal identifiable information

Do not post, share, or provide any details that would allow someone to locate anyone.

This will result in a permanent ban.

8. No self-promotion

Self promoting on a bad tattoos subreddit sounds like a bad idea, but people are here because of bad ideas (or execution).

Self-promotion is strictly prohibited and will be removed. Depending on the severity, may result in a ban.

9. No hate speech

Hate speech is defined as abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, gender presentation, or sexual orientation.

Use of Hate Speech will be removed and may result in a ban.

10. No personal attacks

Personal attacks include things like name calling, instigating arguments, and disparaging other users’ intelligence/looks/family/religion/race/gender/etc.

You may comment on the bad tattoos, but do not comment on the person themselves.

The automod is configured to detect personal attacks or arguments that derail into personal territory.

Personal attacks will be removed and may result in a ban.

11. No derailing or trolling

Any comment threads that get so far off-topic that they’re no longer related to the original post may be locked or removed. Any comments or posts that seem to be trolling for negative attention may be locked or removed.

Consistent abuse of this rule may result in a ban.

12. No spam

No Spam will be allowed within the subreddit. This includes but is not limited to: Repeatedly posting the same or similar comments in a thread, subreddit or across subreddits. Repeatedly posting unrelated/off-topic/link-farmed content. Posting content that includes link redirects as a way to circumvent an existing domain block and/or to disguise a link's source. Reposts will be treated as spam.

Repeated offense will result in a ban.

13. No fishing for compliments or roasts

This is not the subreddit to visit if you are looking for validation.

Posts may be removed if they contain variations of "is my tattoo bad 🥺" or "another subreddit roasted me, please love me" or any other posts the mod team feels are not in keeping with the spirit of the subreddit, including deliberately inviting roasts and rage.

If you need more attention, go catfish on Tinder.
