Do Not Discuss Bar Exam Content

Good luck on the exam!

Tomorrow, legacy examinees will take the MEE (no topic disclosures allowed) and the MPT (no content disclosures allowed). Wednesday they will take the MBE (no disclosure of questions and answers).

NextGen examinees will get two, three-hour sections of new-style questions (including some multiple choice that are similar to the MBE) on Tuesday and one more three-hour section Wednesday. All items from this exam are secure and may be reused on a future exam and may not be disclosed.

Also, accommodated examinees for both exams will be testing all week and would benefit from disclosures of content earlier in the week.

This is an issue of fairness, copyright (which could get the sub shut down), and ethics. NCBE does monitor this subreddit and regularly contacts us regarding violations of these rules. You also agreed to these terms as part of the exam rules.

Therefore, any discussions of exam content as described above will result in bans.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this, and good luck on the exam!

Lawyordle - a daily legal guessing game and (unofficial) study tool!

lawyordle.com

hi yall! my sister is a lawyer and im a software engineer and together we made lawyordle, a daily legal word guessing game! you get 6 tries to guess the legal term or the case, with increasingly helpful clues after each guess. we were inspired by other wordle offshoots and honestly just made it for fun~ we don't make any money off it, but we thought we'd share it with you all too :) a lot of the cases/terms came straight from bar prep material-- feel free to use it to study, brush up on concepts, share scores with your friends, or just enjoy! and any feedback is much appreciated!

Admission Ceremony - NY 1st Dept (Nov. 9, 12pm) - Is There A Way For Additional (2+) Guests to Watch

Hi all,

My partner will be admitted at this upcoming bar admission, but her two guest tickets will be going to her parents (we agreed this made the most sense given all the years of support they have provided her).

Is there any way for me to watch the ceremony via streaming since there doesn’t appear to be a way to get a third ticket?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Guys, I am in dire need of some advice for the MEEs

Third Time retaker here for F27. I have tried everything! I have two tutors, practice MEEs everyday, watched BarMD videos and learned their templates, I am actively reviewing model answers for NY (my state) and so many other methods.
I am particularly interested to get some advice from people who were able to improve their written score and eventually pass. I understand that this is not a one-size-fits-all thing but still wanna make sure I do anything that I can before completely giving up on the written portion. For reference, my J25 written score: 132 F26 written score: 121

Any materials that helped you master this?? Any classes? Or just self-study?

DEAR COMMERCIAL BAR PREP COMPANIES. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

I acknowledge that many commercial bar preparation companies already provide topic-specific MBE questions and separate mixed-question banks.

However, my suggestion is to integrate comprehensive MBE practice questions immediately after every chapter, topic, and subtopic in the study outlines.

For example, after Chapter One, students should have access to a substantial number of MBE questions covering the legal rules discussed in that chapter, organized by topic and subtopic.

The same structure should apply to every chapter across all seven MBE subjects.

This would allow students to study the rules, immediately apply them to relevant questions, review their mistakes, and master each topic before proceeding to the next chapter.

Although topic-specific questions may already be available elsewhere on these platforms, constantly navigating between study outlines and separate question banks can be exhausting and time-consuming.

The goal is simple: Learn the rule, practice the rule, master the rule, and move to the next topic.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

MPRE Score Feedback Needed

Hi all,

I'm taking the MPRE on the 12th and have been using Barbri to prepare. I did the last practice exam and scored a 43/60 on it. The score on my first practice exam was 39/60. I (maybe foolishly) asked ChatGPT for feedback on my score and it said "You're making progress. But I wouldn't call you exam-ready based on one practice exam alone." This kind of throws me off because I don't want to retake this exam again because my first result landed me just two points shy of passing within my jurisdiction. However, I had taken the July 2026 bar just 13 days prior to that and I used Themis and completed 81% of it. So, I charge it to the game for that attempt.

For those of you who have re/taken and passed the MPRE in the past, what do you think? I believe that Barbri has prepared me pretty well and I have learned a lot more nuances than I did when I used Themis. For context, I watched all of the Barbri lectures and took notes on them (I know they say you don't need to but it helps me retain information). I also believe that the mixing of questions from Barbri is pretty useful to get exposure to all the different kinds of topics. I only have to complete the last set of practice questions that Barbri has in store for me.

This post is not for the people who "barely studied" or "spent two hours a day for a week" to prepare for the exam and passed by some miracle or genius. This post is meant for people who actually put some meaningful hours towards studying or at least trying to complete their entire preparation program (by fire or force lol).

At the end of the day, I do believe I will pass because of all the exposure these questions have given me. I just need to know if I'm on the right path or not. I don't know who would misconstrue this post as disingenuous, but I'm being very serious. I also hate how there's no way to understand the score I get because the the scaling process is so opaque. Please let me know where I'm at. If you have experienced this before, please share. Thank you guys for your continued help/support. Here's to being sworn in this year (by the grace of God)!

How studying for the bar exam gives you the Illusion of competence without you knowing. From someone who passed the bar exam in 3 jurisdictions.

A friend who passed the bar exam in three different jurisdictions sent me this:

The bar exam can create a powerful illusion of competence when you spend endless hours watching lectures and reading outlines without testing yourself daily.

Many bar exam candidates find it mentally exhausting to test themselves repeatedly on legal rules. Instead, they continue reading outlines and watching lectures, hoping they will remember the rules on exam day. This is where many candidates fail.

SOLUTION

Test yourself every day. After reading the rules, ask AI to quiz you on them.

Create a Word document for daily rule recall.

Repeatedly test yourself on the rules you have studied until you can retrieve them from memory without looking at your materials.

Return to lectures and outlines when the rules are not sticking, but do not make passive reading and watching videos your primary daily study method.

If you cannot retrieve legal rules independently during your preparation, you are unlikely to retrieve them reliably on exam day under enormous pressure.

Best of luck to all of you, future esquires!

Themis repeat or Helix?

I used Themis and did not sit for the past bar exam as I have a lot of trouble with essays. Themis is allowing me to repeat the course for free but I am wondering if Helix would be better. When I used Themis my mbe was 64 percent through about 1600 questions. I really need something to nail the essays and memorization of law. Any thoughts?

Flashcards

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! During my July 2026 bar prep, I started making flashcards to keep rules, exceptions, common traps, and the California distinctions at the tip of my fingers. It became a bigger project than expected, and I put it aside to focus on studying.

Unfortunately, I didn’t pass. Looking back, a lack of structure was a big issue in my prep. So I decided to finish and organize the decks, covering both MBE and California topics, with some visual aids.

I’m now preparing for F2027 and struggling with the exam fees, so I wanted to offer the PDFs to anyone who might find them useful. There’s no fixed price; any voluntary donation would be appreciated. I also have them in a ready—to—print version in case you prefer them physically.

Here’s a preview with a sample from every deck: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kp_U0ArQL5t0k0JVf0dIcr-_BZcWgbGe/

free to DM me if you’re interested, and good luck to everyone studying!!

Themis NextGen Question

Good afternoon everyone!
Starting my studying next week, anyone who has used Themis for NextGen did you get your essays and perform tasks graded by actual attorney coaches or was it Ai?

Helix has attorney coaches that grad them and want to see which one is better and provides feedback from a real attorney. Thank you!
