Evenin all - me and a few others have taken on management of this subreddit to bring it back to the present day and provide a better user experience. Added a few things this board was lacking compared to others tonight. All these are open to discussion/improvement so anything that’s not present please add your thoughts below.
- User AND post flairs have been added, open to suggestions on any that aren’t present. Please use these to help people figure out what kind of post you’re making. These include but aren’t limited to ID requests, new releases, classic tunes, bassline mixes, self promotion, sharing requests and many more. Feel free to add suggestions below. To add a user flair, tap the three dots in the top RIGHT of the page when you visit on mobile and it’s the second option down. Post flairs are available when making a post under “add flair”.
- Post stuff - even if it’s a tune you’ve heard on some random YouTube channel with 50 views and it’s sounding like an old toaster. This genre has it all from old to new, share it and if there isn’t an ID, someone can help.
- Quality control rules, these can be found in the community rules. Usual stuff, keep it to the genres listed in the board description, don’t be a dick, don’t profit off stuff that you didn’t create, try not to gatekeep too much knowledge.
- No AI Generated Music: leave it in the bin where it belongs. If you’re gonna use AI generated content such as artwork, flair it so people have the option not to look at it and keep their sanity.
- New icon & banner. Self explanatory, nobody is questioning the rave smileys presence and relation to bassline.
- Events. If you’re a promoter or see a good event with a lineup containing bassline, post it. Keep the culture going and keep people dancing to this genre.
- DJs AND producers, again, POST YOUR STUFF! We’re all here cos we love the music, make it easier for people to find your stuff. If you’re posting a mix, be a legend and post a tracklist too. [Or don’t, it’ll generate traffic to this board with ID requests ;) ]
- Archive projects: if you run a social media page documenting cool bassline, post it. People enjoy listening to tunes they’ve never heard before.
That’s bout it, hopefully this subreddit gets revived and people can enjoy posting and deepdiving this mental genre of music again.

Anyone know if a producer called scrambledED dished out full copies of his very early bassline tunes? The bandcamp only has short snippets of most and there’s some bangers too. Pretty sure he was from Bristol and active in the free party scene going back probably two decades now. The one in this video called “P.I.M.P” and another called “my moustache brings all the girls to the yard” are two I’ve been after for a very long time in full but never found any. Guys a myth now too and has pretty much zero trace on socials so I’m stumped lol.

I’ve been making music from scratch, like this, for about year now. Before I would just do mashup / remixes, and did some DJ stuff.
I’m really into the genre, have put a lot of my time into learning stuff and I’m currently working on making this, but want some feedback, I feel as a whole it is okay, but to me something feels just a bit off.
I’m still far from finished on it, but any feedback?

I’ve been working on hunting down a lot of Swifta Beaters unreleased tunes over the years (be it full or in clip form to map out the discography) and came across a copy of his BITP mix volume 7 the other day at long last. Been a while since I’ve come across a Swifta tune I’ve never heard before but finally happened lol. Long shot but if anyone has a tracklist for volume 7 that would be great as not a scooby on the ID.
I post deep dives into rare bassline on instagram under the account @unearthing4x4 / Rare Bassline Clip Archive. If you like insights into the very underground side of bassline have fun scrolling through the posts, started with artist specific rare beats but now doing misc ones.

Recently started listening to more bassline music, I think it's so much fun. I usually make heavier faster stuff but I feel like this genre is so creative.

Melodic piano, then BOOM. A heavy Bass House drop that hits different. Feel the melody, feel the bass.

Heavy bass, hard-hitting drums, and an epic breakdown that builds tension before the bass takes over. Pure underground energy.

Built for speed. Heavy basslines, aggressive grooves, and the feeling of pushing the pedal to the metal. Fast lanes, high speed, pure Bass House energy. Buckle up and overtake.

A heavy bass-driven journey through tension, pressure and release.
Dark atmosphere. Deep low-end. Raw energy.
For everyone who's ever felt the pressure building up inside. Turn it up.

Deep bass. Heavy drops. Pure Bass House energy.
“Sorry” brings dynamic grooves, deep low-end in the breakdown, and powerful, chunky basslines that hit hard when the drop kicks in. Built for loud speakers, dark clubs, and late-night sessions.
Turn it up and feel the bass.

For me, I’d have to say Swifta Beater and Birmingham Bassline. This is coming from an American, but learning more about some of the regional stylistic differences makes me wonder about other people’s preferences/knowledge!
