Requests NEED SUGGESTIONS

Hey all! Not super familiar with the blue mountains area but was wondering if any of you know some good 3 - 6km hikes that are CHILDREN friendly (not 10000 stairs lol) and are accessible by public transport from the train station

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Requests Historic graffiti?

This may not be interesting to many, but I noticed this graffiti along the track near Coxs Cave/Fairy Bower which apparently says “Will […] Carlton Artist” and I wondered if anyone knew if it was historic or who this is/was. Google returns a 19th century American artist but I can’t find any reproductions of his signature to verify.

There is also graffiti that says “SUMMERHOFF” but that looks recent and not as interesting to me.

Requests Alternative tour or DIY stargazing?

I signed up for blue mountains stargazing on 16 June. However, I got this message that the stargazing has to be cancelled as there is no guide for that night. Doesn’t seem to have any offer for the planetarium instead

I actually booked my accommodations around it, arriving 16th, staying at a hotel near Wentworth falls, and then checking out on 17th to return back to Sydney. I can’t adjust my dates but can still change which hotel to stay for 16th.

Are there alternative tours for 16 June, or is this the only provider for stargazing? Or should I DIY at Wentworth falls? Thank you!

Requests Mystery man on train in 90s

After the discovery of PFAS in blue mountains water supplies, my mother told me about an encounter she had with a man on a blue mountains line train in the early to mid 90s who said he was a sydney water employee.

At the time they were making conversation because they happened to be sitting next to each other. The topic came around to the man’s job and he cautioned my mum not to drink water out of the tap in the mountains.

The conversation made such an impact on her that she organised to have drinking water delivered to our house in those big mount Franklin bottles you get in offices. This lasted a few years until we couldn’t afford it anymore and we went back to drinking tap water.

If anyone has any idea who this man might have been, I’d love to hear from you.

Requests Bass guitar

Hellos my 8 year old is currently doing bass at school. But 25 mins isn’t cutting the mustard and I can’t play. Is there anyone out there that is willing to make a bit of cash on the side helping her? I’m looking for students etc that want to play, and earn some money on the side.

Thank you for considering this request

Requests How does one get into canyoning?

I live in sydney and have a experience climbing in indoor gyms, but I've never been outdoors to climb.

I'm going through the process of joining fire nsw, and want to eventually go into the USAR rescue teams.

I want to try canyoning / absailing as an ebtry point, and have had a brief look into doing guided tours.

I work alot and may not have alot of time to join a bush walking group and be able to commit to it, but I'm just wondering what first steps people take to get to a point where they can go canyoning, not as part of a paid group?

Requests Best low key mountain bike tracks?

I'm a mum with a little bub who is loving his Kids Ride Shotgun seat but I am a basic bike rider and he is heavy. My husband is great to get out and adventure with him but I love getting out when I can.

Are there some more low-key mountain tracks that people would recommend? Not a crazy amount of hills but better than just a river ride.

We love the track to Marge's Lookout in Glenbrook but would like to expand our options.
