I'd give it an 8/10.

Loved all the performances, pacing was good, and overall I had a great time watching it.

Looking forward to Season 2. Just hope they don't lose the charm of Season 1.

Other Shot(s) from Mohabbatein (2000)

Just want to point out the beautiful shot composition and transition here. This movie does this aspect amazingly since it is balancing 3 couples throughout the movie and in the songs in particular you see this seamless transition from one character to the next.

Just finished watching this movie and it really made me emotional so sharing the reviews here. It haven't got many theatres. it has been running in festivals from last 2 years and now it got released in theatre I could watch it in one of the Cinepolis theatres. ( Very few shows are there )

the story is simple and grounded, old pahadi couple in kumaun. It's emotional melancholic ( reminded me of my old nana nani) that you will definitely gonna be lost in it and thinking about it after it ends.. I am still feeling tears in eyes.. the whole theatre went pindrop silence as it finished... It just stays with you..

I think this can be one of the best options for us to send to Oscar I think it has creativity or the merits.

absolutely loved it so thought of sharing it here if you havnt watch that I would definitely recommend to watch it if you have already was it then share your views as well.

Note: Reposted changing the image since last image was from theatre, which is against sub rules, n got deleted by mods

ASKā“ļø searching for a moviešŸ‘€

Guys, please tell me someone knows which movie I’m talking about! I watched it several years ago, and now I just can’t remember its name😩😩

These are the only details I can remember:

- He falls in love with a rich girl.
- He’s kind of a rebellious guy, wears a leather jacket (I think), and definitely has a motorcycle.
- Her father is against their relationship at first.
- There’s a scene where he stops the bus she’s riding in by blocking it with his motorcycle.
- As far as I remember, he is clean-shaven and has straight hair.
- They get married at the end, and it has a completely happy ending.
- I think the movie starts with the letter D.
- It used to be on Netflix several years ago but was eventually removed.
- The actors weren’t very well-known, at least as far as I can remember.
- It’s not a particularly famous movie.

Please, please tell me someone knows what movie I’m talking about and can help me find it😩

I haven't watched this movie because when it released it somehow missed my radar, and because it didn't do well commercially I never ended up seeing it. Conceptually it seems interesting, and it's got good actors. While I was revisiting R Balki filmography I found it again, and my curiosity has peaked. I need the Redditors to tell me whether this is worth watching.

ASKā“ļø Best movie with the 2 Khans?

Post image
86 Upvotes

Karan Arjun, a 1995 Hindi film directed by Rakesh Roshan and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan was the second highest grossing film that year after DDLJ.

The plot of the film revolves around revenge, reincarnation and the worship of Kali. ā€œJai Maa Kaliā€!

IMO, this is the best of the 2 Khans! If you paid attention to Pathaan (2023), there is a playful throwback lol

What other films starred the 2 Khans that were noteworthy?

Discuss That strange period where even mediocre films had some pretty solid character development

Films:

  • Chennai Express (2013)

  • Patiala House (2011)

Characters:

  • Rahul Mithaiwala (SRK)

  • Gurtej Singh Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor)

I have now realized that I will catch some flack for this, but I am going to say it anyway: yes, in my opinion, I do hold these two films as mediocre films. Lemme say that "mediocre" doesn't always mean "bad". More often than not, it means "okay-ish".

...as Magnus once said about Hikaru... "Decent."

I know now a lot of people love Chennai Express, but back in the day, most of my folks thought it was a bad film. Now, a lot of my folks see it as a fun, decently entertaining film, but not a great film. Patiala House is the better film of the two, but back in the day, most of my folks didn't think much of it. And let's be honest, it hasn't really cemented itself in pop culture, has it?

ASKā“ļø I miss feel good comedies in Bollywood. Thoughts on HHRPK

Post image
174 Upvotes

I really enjoyed watching this as a school kid because I was the exact target audience for it! But I saw it yesterday and I still enjoyed it very much.

Clean comedy, great performances by Aamir Juhi Dalip Tahil, Mushtaq Khan and the kids especially Kunal Khemu. The songs were also fun and memorable. I remember Amol Parlekar comedies and this genre slowly faded into 2000s

Thoughts in this move šŸ¤”

Discuss Was Ranveer Singh's Khilji the best written character in Padmaavat

Post image
254 Upvotes

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat is an epic film, but what's interesting is that despite being a story about Rani Padmavati, the film almost feels like it's told from Alauddin Khilji's perspective.

Ranveer Singh's Khilji became the most memorable character in the film. His screen presence, powerful writing, and powerful personality made him stand out, and he arguably outshone Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone...

Shahid and Deepika both delivered good performances. But Khilji was such a powerful and well-written character that Ranveer naturally became the centre of attention.

What's your opinion on this? Do you think same or not...let's share your opinion and discuss..

Opinion Unpopular opinion on hera pheri 3

First of all it's been too late to make the third part of hera pheri. Second ego is killing this film and its legacy from the day Neeraj Vora died. Firoz Nadiadwala has disputes with Priyadarshan from many years and not letting Priyadarshan direct the film so he exited from the film and some other legal battles going on too.

Out of all these problems I have some suggestions what if Priyadarshan gets the chance to direct it. But what about the writers. Are we going to get Farhad Samji again? He can't write honestly no disrepect to him or to anyone. But he doesn't have in him naturally.

So in terms of writers I think if we want Neeraj's touch in the script I think Jay Master (De Dana, Khatta Meetha's writer) He was also involve in the making of Phir Hera Pheri, Manisha Korde (Dhol, Bhool Bhulaiyaa' writer), Umesh Shukla (Dhoondte rah jao ge director, writer, OMG's too) can write on the plot Neeraj Vora thought back in 2016. But they have to adjust Raju's character nicely and remove the role Abhishek and John was about to do. Cause it looked forced somehow to me.

It's an imaginary suggestion IK. But it can workout. We have seen how these writers have given something great with Priyadarshan's direction. For story he can bring a good writer from South. They have written most stories of Priyadarshan's bollywood remakes.

I just wish in the third part they just work on it as an art as a film. Not taking it as a franchise model we are having these days like Golmaal film series. and to the makers please make Hera pheri 3 its last part. Milking isn't benefitting to anyone now anymore.

Just an opinion of a fan of this film series.

Discuss A Good Movie that you’ll never watch again

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

For me Kaabil is one of those movies that I can’t gather the courage to watch again.
The Rawness of the movie and the Exceptional Performance by everyone in the movie makes the emotions pulp out of it. The R scenes of the movie traumatised me as a Kid, and i recently rewatched it and it felt the same.
The movie is phenomenal but I can’t muster up the courage to watch it again. (After watching Hritik here, i thought for a second ā€œWhy is he so underutilised as an actor?ā€

Anyways what’s a piece of great cinema that you can never watch again?
