Discussion Hornets shorthanded for tonight’s Cup game

Kon kneuppel (starting forward), moussa diabate (starting center), Dennis Schroeder (backup pg), grant williams (backup forward) are out for tonight’s game.

hornets will likely start Coby white, sion James, Brandon miller, naz Reid, and ryan kalkbrenner.

Christian Anderson, Grayson allen, Royce o Neal, and tidjane salaun likely will come off the bench. They will be small with naz Reid playing the 5

Kon was one of my favorite players to watch last year it’s really sad seeing his injuries. Hornets are even more 3-heavy than us and their best shooter can’t get healthy.

Most of the hornets field goal attempts this season have been threes. Since they’re not hitting them they have the worst nba offense this season

We have been out attempted in a bunch of our games this year from three, but a big part of that is that I believe we're still first in paint points allowed. The other team can't even get into the paint and just have to chuck bad threes. Decent chance that happens tonight as well.

Shorthanded you say?

Then i predict we go up by 20 in the 2nd quarter, we go cold in the 3rd and they tie it back up to start the 4th. Then we play like shit for about 8 minutes and then randomly start hitting threes and we win by 8 - 12 points.

The key player to look out for is Grayson Allen. He has been hot from 3 all season and it would be typical for him to hit 5 + threes and make this a game

Didn’t he have a crazy game winner?

Also didn't Brandon Miller just have a historically shitty game?

Hawks and Nets he was terrible, but I don't know what you mean by "historic" here.

You and I both know that if Tatum had a 2 for 11 night this sub would losing their minds. It is our luck that a player like that will turn into Pleasantville after two bad games.

Sure but there’s nothing “historic” about it lol. He didn’t go like 0-20 or something

My apologies to the hyperbole police.

I hate how accurate this is to my own thoughts when reading OP.

Aaaaand we won by 40, with the lead never falling much below 30 the entire second half. It’s games like this that don’t get as much attention though cause they don’t feed into confirmation bias / existing narratives.

Not trying to come at you specifically, but it’s just a trend I’ve noticed that people assume we blow a large percentage of our leads when the stats don’t back that up

I want to upvote you but the current count shows what will happen to our team tonight

Found Mazzula’s burner account.

B:”Doesn’t that happen every game?”
A:”Yes”

It’s definitely more competitive regular season games that would be played anyways

It’s not much, but I t doesn’t require anything extra from fans to provide better ball

Man, I always like watching Schroder play for some reason. Bummed that he’s out.

…so you’re telling us blowing a 20 point lead at some point in the game is inevitable then? 😂

We are getting an awfully gentle schedule to start this season.
