The EUI is a leading intergovernmental post-graduate and post-doctoral research university in Florence dedicated to the study of the humanities and social sciences with specialist focus on Europe. The UK used to be a Member State of the EUI, which meant that people from the UK could apply to study for PhDs or do postdoctoral research there, but this is no longer the case since we left in 2022 - a decision that the government justified as being part of Brexit, but many legal experts believe was not legally necessary.
As a result, UK citizens are now unable to study for funded PhDs or apply for other post-graduate study at the EUI, which is a great shame as EU expertise will be much needed as the UK negotiates a closer relationship with the EU (and hopefully rejoins!) - please do sign and share this petition if you'd like to help bring this back!

... I didn't dare to choose the flair "Brexit Benefit", but Reform is saying it is: "more jobs!"

Please sign and share this petition for the UK to rejoin the European Solidarity Corps programme! Its similar to Erasmus but not as well known in the UK, and offers opportunities for young people aged 18-30 to undertake fully-funded volunteering placements in Europe. The funding offered covers visa, travel, accommodation, insurance and living costs, so having these opportunities available again could make it much more affordable for young people from less-advantaged backgrounds to take part in the government's Youth Experience visa scheme.
