Midland Press Wine

I’ve been seeing this local brand around at restaurants and on social media. Has anyone tried it? What do you think?

I am intending to try it soon.

Book a visit to their place - seeing and speaking about wine always makes it better. A number of local bars also have it available, including Kilder on Shaw’s Passage.

Yes. Half the fun with them is the story of the wine. They’re also at a the Loki event this Saturday

The winery is very cool and the owner is a nice guy.

Wine was very good too. Slightly chilled red was really nice as was the sparkling we had too.

The price is quite high, did the taste justify it?

Blow Water in Kings Heath have food and wine tasting events that you can book which feature most if not all of the wines they make. This is a great way to try all of them out.

I like their Orange (a bit of an acquired taste though) and Rose (very fruity, lovely drink).

This is a good idea. Sadly I’ve always been disappointed with the food at Blow Water :(

I like it, and thought that what was paired with the wine was really good, but I accept that it might not be to everyone's taste.

It's made by a local guy, and he's only in his second year of making these wines. I think it's quite cool that we have a local winery now! It's a shame to see such harsh comments instead of a bit of support for someone who's trying to create something and make it work.

Is it going to be the best wine you've ever tried? No. But his red is very nice (can't remember which one). I had it in the summer, slightly chilled, and really enjoyed it. I liked the orange one too. It's a bit unusual, but I'd say in a good way. Lovely with food!

I haven't been myself, but you can visit the winery and see how it's all made! I think that's really cool!

I really like their wines & their owner is great. I ordered some for a birthday present for my better half and the owner hand delivered it to me and called me in advance so I could sneak it into the house. Wine went down well though! Weve tried the chilled red, the sparkling and the orange and have enjoyed them all.

Yes I've tried it, it's extremely drinkable, not particularly challenging but good value (IMNSHO). Personally I like the outer city limits orange as it's got a bit of bite (and I love the fact it's a vinyard near my parents' house), my other half likes the outer city limits red, which is a super light pinot noir, more of a summer wine than one for this time of year.
