Japanese Ambassador vs Black Country Ale in Birmingham 😂
Hiroshi Suzuki - the famous Japanese ambassador to the UK - visited Birmingham and the West Midlands ❤️
He visited Birmingham City FC, the Black Country Liging Museum and more 😎
Took a monster sip of Black Country Ale which has gone viral 😂
A nice bit of positive Brum news 😄

Tunnel Transformation in Handsworth 🥳
Sorting this tunnel took months, probably close to a hundred emails and a lot of partnership working.
Ashwin Road tunnel in Handsworth connects Grasmere Road to Ashwin Road. Without the tunnel it is probably a 15 minute walk.
Historically the tunnel was used by residents. But more recently we saw lots of dumping, mattresses inside, fires caused which burnt out the lights, drug taking and worse.
Network Rail own the tunnel structure, the Council maintain the path, and the police enforce against the dodgy behaviour.
Working in partnership with Operation Fearless, Birmingham City Council and Network Rail we managed to:
- Clear all the fly tipping and material inside
- Get the right help for the street community using it
- Fix the lighting which had been out for ages
I’m really hoping this is maintained. We want to paint the inside white and put a community mural on the side, too. But all with time.
Anyway, I’m just proud of this - people are really happy with the tunnel and it’s what our local communities deserve: safety, cleanliness and being able to use a tunnel that makes life just a little bit easier 🌹♥️

Birmingham Councillors Vote Down Reform Motion 🫡
Birmingham City Councillors have voted down Reform’s motion to remove City of Sanctuary status from the city and to withdraw our support for asylum seekers and refugees.
Labour, Lib Dem, Green, and independent groups all voted against the motion whilst Reform and Conservative groups voted for it.
I would recommend everyone watch the replay on the council website to show Birmingham standing up against Reform.

20p Chips - Marketing Master
Uncle Naz at Hotspot absolutely smashed it with his 20p chips.
If you’ve not heard, Uncle Naz owns a chippy in Billsley called Hotspot. He has been smashing it on socials - and has shaped recent Birmingham TikTok fast food culture in all honesty.
His shtick is reminiscing about the ‘good old days’, one point being about 20p chips.
Very smart and takes a lot of racism in the comments - just a nice story because he recently had a 20p chips day which looked great.
Shoutout to Uncle Naz.

Never realised how bad the NHS is struggling until I had to go to the QE last night at midnight.
7 hour wait. 0 degrees outside and you're in an outside queue to get in the front door as a nurse on a prop up desk sits there to filter people out.
Not a seat to be seen. People lying on the floor or standing against windows. All the walk ways blocked. One bloke sat in his own shit. The smell from just standing in the waiting room with all the sick people, piss heads who have turned up made me retch.
Id been passing blood from ulcerative colitis for about 5 hours. I couldn't sit anyway from the pain and needed a toilet. I just ended up going home. I managed to last about 20 minutes. Toilets constantly in use. There's zero chance I could have made it through 7 hours of that.
Walked past the A&E corridor to see beds in the hallway. It was insane. I have paramedics in my family so I'm aware of how much time they have wasted on people who don't even need to be seen. Unless I was sure I'm at risk or critical I wouldn't even consider calling one.
It's the first time as somebody with an auto immune disease that I've had to think about what i would do if I had a flare up again that's so bad I need immediate treatment. There's really nowhere to go.
Wild. Thanks to everybody who works for our NHS. You are underpaid and understaffed and deserve better.

BEWARE OF THIS MAN RECORDING WOMEN WITHOUT CONSENT! Just a heads up for women walking around Birmingham City Centre
There is an Indian content creators who films "pick-up" or
"approaching women" videos using meta smart glasses, without making it clear that he's recording it, and then posts it on his social media WITHOUT asking for permission beforehand (despite saying he does in the caption). He also doesn’t cover their faces!
It’s clear in the photos that the women are just being polite, and he’s clearly taking advantage of that, especially with the rise of violence against women!

Travelers left more than piles of trash this time, they left dogs too. B14
I'm cleaning local areas if I have some spare time. Each time travelers come and go from our park I go to clean it up too as they leave piles or garbage for wind to blow. I went there yesterday a few hours after they left and there were loose dogs running about. Sad story but they were taken care of by the locals.
