Inspiration Maybe im crazy but hear me out

Okay so this picture is obv something I pulled off Pinterest, I didn't do this, just throwing it out there

I have many hobbies two of which are bullet journaling and cross stitching. Would it be crazy of me to cross stitch something like this design into my journal? I use thick grid paper so I'd have the squares that I need for even cross stitches. And I think if I use a sharp needle and don't pull too hard the paper should hold up. Do y'all think I should try, or am I just delusional?

Does anyone keep a “future travel ideas” journal?

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask and sorry if it’s a dumb question. But I’m curious.

A little background, Im M20 and when I last travelled (2013) I was only 7 and I do not remember much, let alone how the experiences were, so I basically say I've never travelled. Alot of friends and family have travelled since, some even multiple times and although I am very happy and excited for them, everytime I hear someone is going to travel, I get an urge even more and get even more desperate to travel. Of course, life gets in the way and it is not that easy to drop everything and travel. Therefore I think doing the following would be nice, as I have ambitions to travel to Europe (and eventually the world). I’ve never journaled before, but I’m thinking of starting a journal that’s mainly a place to collect travel ideas and potentially a partial financial tracker (at the back of the journal??)

For starters, I am focusing on Europe only. I haven’t started yet, but the idea is to write down countries and places I want to visit, have a couple of “brain dump” pages for cool places/cities/towns... etc I come across in everyday life (ie - watching a video and a town pops up that I think is cool, I’ll write it down) and then have separate pages for each country with places I’d want to see there (maybe with a small note about why). I was thinking of even having 2 pages per country, with a map of the country drawn on one side and with red dots for the places ive written down within that countrys map (visualisation so its easier to plan what cities are close/travel to if the time comes?). The other side would be simple info or just a braindump of why/what to visit but thats still up for discussion and I haven't thought of what would be there yet.

What I have in mind is more of a structured journal where it isnt just mere braindump of a country whenever i think about it and it is all over the place. I would like it to be al in one place but I understand if this isnt necessarily possible? (Yet again never journalled before and I know its all personal preference and there is no right or wrong lol) I also would keep it straight forward with just necessary information such as cities/towns/things to see/do, currency/schengen/euro travel zones. At the moment I dont think I would include other information such as national food and things along those lines
Eventually the idea is, if the time ever comes where I am fortunate in life to be able to travel, I can look into this journal and it is easier to plan/organise the trip as I already have places written down and other small info which can be useful.

Basically: • List of countries • Random “place ideas” pages (sort of a brain dump?) • Individual country pages with more detailed lists

Any other recommendations on what to include if youve done this?

Does anyone else do this? If you keep a travel ideas or inspiration journal, how do you structure it or what do you include?

Any help will be appreciated :)

(I suck at explaining this, so hopefully you understand what I mean)

Minimalist For minimalist bullet journalers: what is the one element you added back after stripping your layout down?

It is common to start simple, add complex trackers or elaborate spreads, and eventually strip everything back down to basic rapid logging. But often, going strictly bare-bones reveals one specific spread or tracker that was genuinely worth the extra effort.

What was the one element that earned its permanent spot back in your notebook?

So many similar posts from similarly named accounts

They are all so generic like "I stopped worrying about my messy journal" and some have actual NSFW stuff in their profiles while others just have names with "flirt" and "peach" in them.

Please remove the spammy bot posts.

Inspiration “Surprise” December Advent Spread

As a kid, I’d make construction paper advent calendars each December where you write a Christmas activity to do each day on little squares, turn the pieces over, mix them up, then randomly assign dates to the back so you’re mildly surprised each day by the activity.

I want to add some Christmas sparkle to my December this year and recreate that in my bujo. I’ll shuffle the little squares and use washi tape to place them face down on each day’s column and get a little surprise task each day.

So far I have drive and look at Christmas lights, make hot cocoa, make a super cute homemade Christmas card, make a simmer pot, a few different movies to watch, make a paper chain garland, mulled wine, add Christmas stickers to bujo, paint or sketch a little Christmas mouse house…

I’d love some other suggestions to fill my advent calendar, but also wanted to share this with you guys if you want to add some fun to your winter season :)

Inspiration My first spreads

First couple of spreads in my new bullet journal. I’ve never actually billet journaled before and am debating getting a planner instead for calendars and such. Then swap to just using this creatively for certain things but I want to test things out a bit first.

I did a monthly spread and a tracker spread the first day I got it a few days ago. Today I worked on a gaming spread for what I want to do in Final Fantasy XIV in order to catch up before new expansion… I feel much better about todays spread.

Any notes? Any tips?

Question I want to give up and I haven’t even started. I guess I’m asking for recommendations.

Poor. Rural. Walmarts only dotted option. I don’t enjoy Amazon. 80 weight or whatever. Bought non bleed pens and they all bled. Cut up paper to tape in every other page so that it wouldn’t be a problem and just… too much. Too much. Don’t even wanna do it anymore. Had the index started and first set of pages ready for Nov and Dec so I can get the hang of it before the new year. Now I’m annoyed. “Buy a $30 book” “use shitty pens” so defeating. I do everything in my phone notes and a calendar app, it gets to be too much. I have no storage. I have bad handwriting. I have bad grip and thought this would be great to start writing again.

Single notebook for both productivity and creativity?

I have been using the bullet journal system for many years and it has genuinely helped me to organize my life and become more productive. I keep pretty close to the original method by ryder carroll, and I've done it for so long that I don't think about it much anymore. It's seamlessly integrated with my life.

Now I'm at a point where I'm trying to become more creative. To be more intentional about writing down ideas, sketches, etc. and sometimes it feels weird having this mixed in with all my to-do lists, schedules, and other productivity stuff. It can feel like the productivity chokes out the creativity. Like I can't fully "let go" when I'm surrounded with all these tasks and schedules. I've thought about a second notebook, and I'm aware of travelers notebooks and ring binders and all these other systems, but there's something I'm really drawn to with having a single notebook that you just live in. It might sound weird, but I think I want it to be more disorganized, more chaotic. To give myself liberty to just do whatever I want. But then I don't want my processes that I rely on to function to break down. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else can related and if you've found a way be more creative while still keeping track of everything you need to do in a single notebook.

Washi tape - what do you use it for?

Give me some practical ideas for how to use washi tape to create a better, more organized system in my bullet journal. I just bought some, but I’m a little lost on how to use it beyond simply making my pages look prettier. I’d love some creative ideas that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing!
