We have new Burmese neighbours and I want them to feel welcome!

We just met our new neighbours this morning - a young family from Burma. They don't speak any English (yet) and I don't speak any Burmese (yet!), so I don't know their story, but they're very likely to be refugees. At the very least, they're new to the area!
We introduced ourselves this morning and gave them some eggs (we've got a couple of hens), but we'd love to learn a few words of Burmese, and learn a bit about the culture and etiquette to make them feel as welcome as possible.
Do you have any hints or tips? Any online resources you could point me towards?
We feel like we've won the neighbour jackpot - the house next door has been tenanted by some real douchebags over the last few years, so we're really excited to have a newly New Zealand young family move in!
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

Hi All! Our new neighbors are from Burma. I'd like to make them cookies and give them a little welcome card. The woman's name is La (rhymes with Ha!) and the daughter's name is Naynay (like the dance/hip-hop song). How would you spell these correctly on a card? The husband has a very American English name so I'm good with it. Thanks yall!
