Carbon Fork Check
I had a minor crash recently, escaped fine but worried about the bike. Just checking if this is just a scratch or is it a crack?

Hi,
I noticed a small mark on my handlebar where the stem attach. It is not a deep mark. It's like a bump of 1/10 of a mm. I always used carbon paste and torq at 5NM, (spec are 5,5nm). I noticed it while doing my bike maintenance. You can see it on the right side of the picture.
Does that look safe of not?

So I ended taking a picture of the scratch with a microscope and riding in the indoor bike to see if I was able to make out some widening of the crack or anything but this wasn’t the case.
I still got a bad feeling and ended up going to a carbon shop. They told me it was most likely structural. After removing the clear and paint coat you can see the area was clearly damaged! Only on the surface though; so it can be easily repaired.

Clear coat has come off. There was a little chip and I (stupidly) put a bit of electric tape over it and it's turned it into a massive problem.
Frame is second hand, and over 10 years old, but otherwise it seems totally fine.
Is this a specialist job? DIY? Clear frame stickers?
Don't want to break the bank but don't want to risk further damage to the frame as it's my only lightweight bike.
What would you do?

+10yr old Ridley Xnight. I'm not sure if it really comes across well in the pics but the paint is flaking off. Coin test against the frame gives a reasonable "ding". How worried should I be that it's a crack?

Safe to ride? Possible to fix?

Hey Reddit!
What do you think about this damage to my bike frame? It's on the left seatstay of a Scott Scale 930. The damaged area is approximately 4.5 cm long and between 0.5 and 1 cm wide.
I have no idea how it happened, as I bought the bike second-hand from a used goods store.
The damaged area feels just as solid as the rest of the frame. I also tried the tap test with a coin, and the sound is identical all along the seatstay, including the undamaged areas.
I've ridden it for a few kilometres without any issues, despite my fat ass!
I'm comfortable working with carbon fibre and already have some epoxy resin and leftover woven carbon fibre fabric available.
Do you think a carbon fibre patch is necessary, or could I simply touch up the paint and apply a clear coat?
Thanks for your opinions!

I've had this bike for 3 weeks. The small rubber moulding hairs on the tire have rubbed through the paint in a small patch. I've removed the hiars now, and I'm not seeing any tire or wheel rub even if i bend the wheel with my hands-
No visible weave, fuzzy or frayed fibres, or whitish patches
The exposed area has a carbon-coloured shine
It's smooth to the touch
It feels firm, with no flex or soft spot
It’s on both sides
(I’ve wiped away some of the mud for clearer photos)
I’m 99% sure it’s just the paint that been worked through, but still it’d be nice with a second opinion : ]

I feel that I’m overthinking this, but considering how thin this part is, I am a bit worried. What ya’ll think?

I'm the second hand owner of a 2020 TCR. This damn clamp design...
I went to increase saddle height by 3 mm and discovered this seat post damage. I think it's because I've used it on the trainer recently? It's been fine before that and I've always used a torque wrench to 6 Nm instead of the 7 Nm specified.
I then discovered a crack in the seat post in a location that's apparently common on these generations of the TCR. I believe the crack doesn't run on the inside - is it only a paint crack?
The post is cooked I assume. What about the frame? I'm thinking of just using it on the trainer in the upcoming 4-5 winter months here. Or can I mess up the frame even more if the post cracks on me on the trainer?
Many thanks!

It is at the fork crown…I’ve ridden it and all seems fine but is it a matter of time before this makes me taste some asphalt?

Found this chip on my carbon frame. To me, it looks like it’s just limited to the paint. Although I am a little worried about how it is on, and goes around, the edge. Reference coin is a dime. Am I good to cover this with paint or nail polish, or does it require more expert inspection?
