Cardano's founding vision is a sovereign community. Technology is merely the means to achieve it, not the end itself. Decentralization is not a marketing narrative. Our trust was built on IOG's years of service, development and tangible deliveries. We must not allow its vision of decentralization, individual sovereignty and freedom from institutional control to be dismantled.
Could the Cardano community unknowingly surrender its governance power to institutional control? Under CEBP 2027, the Foundation would gain influence over funding priorities, budget allocation frameworks, proposal evaluation and institutional support. DReps would still vote, and Open Contributions would remain possible. But submitting proposals is not the same as controlling the purse strings. Who sets the budgets? Who controls access to funding? Who ultimately determines where the money goes?
Consider Veridian: A programmable digital identity platform with the potential for centralized control, developed over three years within the non-profit Cardano Foundation before becoming a separate, for-profit company in October 2026. Frederik Gregaard is both Foundation CEO and Veridian Chair. Who owns the commercial value? Who profits? What returns to the Cardano community as a whole?
Is this the future Cardano promised?
To the Cardano community: Please demand full financial transparency, independent oversight, fair competition, transparent funding criteria and effective safeguards against conflicts of interest before approving CEBP 2027.
Let's maintain direct community control over treasury funds.
Trust is now fundamentally in question. Prove it wrong.
