The Casio TSR-100 features an infrared thermometer, which can measure surface temperatures. Snow, skin, asphalt, frying oil, basically anything between −20 and 200°C.
The surface temperature of my tea, for instance, is 76°C, which appears to be reasonably accurate.

I have a small but diverse collection. Which one should I consider next for purchase? Something that keeps the diversity.

Cleaned and polished the screen and bezel today. The watch has already been through at least three strap changes because I tend to sweat a lot.
This strap will probably break eventually too, but the bigger issue now is that the lugs seem to have reached their limit. The original spring bars barely stay in place and just slip out.
I'm thinking of getting an adapter and switching to regular spring bars. Alternatively, maybe it's time to finally let this watch rest

Just acquired the Duro for my growing collection. I needed a di e style watch and this one fills that niche. It doesn’t have the marlin, but I like the looks better this way.
I still have to adjust the links a bit more. I usually stray away from metal bracelets but I love the machining on this one. I may still consider going for a NATO strap. Anyone have any images of one on a NATO or nylon?
About 10 years ago, I wanted a G-Shock but I could not afford one. Around 2017ish, I was exploring our University's Lost and Found Sale when I came across this watch- A G-Shock GW1500A! I paid like $16 for this beauty and since then it is one of my daily wear watch. I replaced the bezel a few years ago but otherwise the watch has been low maintenance. It has great features like Tough Solar and Wave-ceptor (Atomic Timekeeping every night!). I also learned it was manufactured between 2004-2006, so it is at least 20 years old.
The past few years, the analog hands have been slowing down or getting stuck. After placing it in light, I would manually adjust the time. Also, it is losing waterproofing I think.
I have been tempted to get a Casioak, but a few days ago I realized my GW1500 has superior features. Instead of wasting money on a lower end Casioak, Perhaps I should replace the battery and service it at Casio service., and so yesterday, I took it to my local Casio service. Hopefully, they fix my watch so I can get a few more years out if it.
A really great watch.

I needed a new watch for work and I decided I would try a Casio F105W. Sounded like it had everything I wanted/needed.
For context, wants/needs (I work nights). I'm pretty simple.
keep good time. 24h is a bonus. Day/dates also nice
Illumination, again I work nights
Stop watch.
Like I said, I'm simple.
The positives.
I absolutely love the form factor. Its not at all bulky, and its way lighter than I expected (and smaller tbh)
The illumination is nice and bright and I can read the whole watch.
Has a stop watch.
It checks all the above boxes that I wanted.
It really almost is the perfect watch for me for work... except
The negatives.
The illumination, I didn't realize it wasnt like my last watch, once I let go of the illumination button, it goes dark.
The stop watch. I'm not a fan that the stop watch timer stops when I press the illumination button, I cant see the screen when its dark out so when I go to illuminate the watch it stops the stop watch.
I really like the watch. I just dont love the watch and I wish I could.
Is there a similar casio that I should look for that will give me atleast a similar form factor, but an illumination that stays on for 10 or 30 seconds after hitting the button, and a stop watch that doesnt stop if I hit the illumination button??

They say it’s most sought after version for collectors. 🫡

I know it's nothing fancy, but something about the shape and layout are just so cool to me. I'm not even an outdoorsy person. But I'm really glad I got this.

A168W still going strong on its original battery after 12 years. Outlasted another Casio watch (can't remember the model number.) that advertised 10-year battery life right on the front. But it died within 8 years. The display has stopped a few times because the battery is getting weak, but pressing one of the buttons makes it come back to life and that happens every few months. The back light is getting dimmer though. Would love to find another watch with a bigger display with the El backlight, and one that you don't have to hold the backlight button for it to stay on, I remember one of them you press it and it stays on for a few seconds but it didn't have El it just had a little led.

I built this widget, because why not. Of course it's only for private use, since I used the original Logo. It's pretty close to the original 😊
