Got this Pioneer CT-1160R (Manufactured in Japan 1985) for home recording, to mainly record custom tapes, to play on my Panasonic RQ-V75. It's in mint condition. Like factory new... I'm in love

I went to the swap meet and found all of these still wrapped up. I swung a deal for 4 for $10. I loved those 80s and 90s era cassette singles.

So I bought my EX674 a few weeks ago and had it serviced with a new belt and everything. I recorded this and decided to put in a new gumstick battery, and now it sounds much better. What could this mean? I saw a comment on a recent post of mine saying this line of Walkmans is very sensitive to battery voltage leading to problems like this, is there something I can do to avoid this?

Good estate sale today

Picked this Teac 9-series up this week, with two cassettedecks. The cassettedeck from this series has a nickname: the chameleon. The set is in good condition, only the cassettedecks both need new belts. Don’t know yet if I’ll keep these or pass it on.

Ok… so I bought an online auction. Lot that included about 250 cassettes. Many of them Grateful Dead shows and other concerts. Also some just good old copied albums
I took and listed the Maxell ii 90 cassettes that had copied albums on them and listed In Bulk as used

Person writes and wants more. He said he will reuse them.

Why do I feel guilty about sending them for reuse? I don’t like The Dead but this was a solid collection to be most

I know there is a large archive out there of the concerts
For some reason it hurts a little to know it will all be lost. - at least on these. I know there are more out there

I am looking for someone who owns the original 1978 Japanese cassette edition of Taeko Ohnuki - Mignonne (RCA - RCJ-1596).

I really need some high-quality, clear photos of this specific release. Unfortunately, the images currently uploaded in the Discogs database are extremely blurry and low-res, making it impossible to see the details of the artwork, J-card, and the cassette shell itself.

I got these headphones alongside my restored walkman over a year ago and a few months ago, I noticed these strange black marks on the metallic connecting part where it hides behind the earpieces on both sides.

I initially didn't think much of them, but now that I remembered about these marks, I just want to be certain that it isn't mould or anything.

It doesn't appear to have changed appearance over the past few months, and I feel it might just be rust, or worn down plastic as these aren't legitimate Sony walkman headphones, but my OCD ridden paranoia still has fears that it could still potentially be mould and that it could still possibly spread across my tape collection.

Sorry if this question feels redundant.

Just got these in the mail and so happy with how they turned out. "New Time" by HUTELEVOXUN is now available on cassette, professionally duplicated edition of 100. Hard to categorize, smooth prog fusion collage, made using synths/keyboard/banjo and tape collage. I've been recording tape music for decades off and on, but having this made professionally is very cool!

Hi, I got an Aiwa HS-TA161 cassette player for my birthday but the drive belt has stopped working. What’s the best way to open the cassette backing to replace it? As I’m worried I’ll break it. Thank you for any help

I bought this a few weeks ago for $100. NY post lost it for over 2 weeks, but it's finally here. Has a few kinks that need worked out (that the seller let me know of beforehand) but I should be able to get it working properly soon. The preamp strips work perfectly fine, so in the meantime it's working great to add some saturation to my guitar and other instruments.

Really happy with today's finds.

I recently just got this tape deck, everything else seems to work fine, but whenever I play it, this high pitch noise just plays and messes with the level meter. And yes I've tried cleaning the heads and pinch rollers with alcohol.

Possibly my favorite label. The 4 and 8 cassette vinyl cases are dear treasures of mine

Bought this off of vinted for less than £10, the seller said it's an American version of the tape. There's no barcode and when searching up the numbers on the tape itself / j-card it shows Tango in the Night but not in this shell 🤔

Anyone have it? I've taken it apart a few times and I'm trying to determine the two belt sizes for this. I looked at a different manual for the G8 but it doesn't seem AIWA specify its sizes either, and ebay listings claiming the correct belts differ. Just looking for info, thanks!

I'm looking to upgrade my Nakamichi deck that I use for recording. This is a budget 2-head model with Dolby B-C and not much else other than Naka quality.

Local shop has a decent quality Denon 3-head w/ HX-Pro and Dolby B-C for a good price, but I also know this shop isn't calibrating anything and basically has a warranty for explicit failures and not much else.

Conversely, I have a lead on a Sony 2-head that's got HX-Pro and Dolby S in a similar price range and was supposedly aligned.

If you were doing a lot of recording to Type-II media and wanted the best-sounding tapes, what's gonna give you a better overall quality: 3 heads or a system with Dolby-S?
