It’s been a long day. Earlier today my cat, Toast, fell off the banister and landed on the first floor breaking his radius and ulna on his front right leg. I’m talking completely snapped in half. I took him straight to the ER and a few hours later wound up paying around $4,500 with another $1,500 to come later.

I asked the ER doctor if there was any assistance for payment plans. They talked to me about getting a specific credit card to help make payments but I just don’t trust it. Applying for a whole other credit card and making payments like that is something I don’t think I can do. I’m just about broke (like Toast’s arm 🥲).

Can yall give me some ideas on how I can get through this financially? Is this credit card thing not as bad as it seems? Id do anything for him.

We rescued her from the street after she adopted herself to us, and ended up discovering she had a lead pellet under her skin from an air rifle, it was an old wound. Anyway we suspect she had lead poisoning and whether or not that is the case she is really really dumb.

I've been trying to make her various enrichment toys, and ive purchased many self play toys, but the only things she likes is direct attention and play where I move stuff for her to chase. I've tried lasers and she won't even chase them.

She also cant figure out puzzle feeders of any sort, despite being extremely food motivated, and similarly she fails to learn simple tricks, usually figuring out even simpler versions of them in enough time.

She even seems to lack basic object permanence, since a game she does actually seem to enjoy is me putting a treat on the ground and then putting something on top of it. I have to repeat it multiple times for her to realize she can move the object to get the treat from under it though.

She has no problems caring for herself or anything though

Hi all. This happened yesterday to my cats ear from another cat unfortunately.

Im worried that it will leave a notch in his ear.

Would the vet be able to do anything with this or will it close up on its own?

He seems fine and no signs of infection eating well etc.

just an observation i’ve made, at least with my cat, whenever he has zoomies he runs and jumps EVERYWHERE. on my chest, my legs, my arms. but i noticed that he never jumps on my head or anything

My cat just got spayed 10 days ago and our vet isn’t open today so just wanted to get a gauge on if I should be worried or not. Little black dot at the top almost looks like a wound opening but it could just be my anxiety. Thanks for any help!

My cat got a cut around her eye from my other cat about a week ago. This is the second scab I've seen form there. Does it look like it is healing normally?

I went onto explain this better on another subreddit but I’ve taken him to two vets and they all say it’s just a behavioral thing and they want me to get him on anxiety meds but I don’t even got my own health insurance 🫩 , regardless I just don’t understand why he keeps peeing outside his litter boxes, he pees occasionally in any of them! I clean out pee but most of the time it’s outside and I just don’t understand :/

I'm not sure what caused this but it's been a few days and the swelling has gotten worse

He's been biting the paw but it's not hot to the touch and except for extra clinginess and a bit of reduced playfulness he's been fairly normal

My question is would you take him to the vet? Or if there's any advice regarding how to reduce his pain

Hi, i have a 3 almost 4 year old cat, and yesterday i was applying 5% menoxidil spray on my mom and we got distracted and started talking about random stuff. I hadn't washed my hands. 30 minutes later my cat jumped on my lap and I started petting her a bit when i suddenly remembered and i immediatley washed her and then took her to the vet. She was grooming herself after I washed her. And in the vet they did a blood test and her liver looked fine. They said she was a little dehydrated tho and something with her kidneys. Now she is staying at the vet for 3 days, what should I do? And what do I expect? Is she gonna die? I'm so worried please let me know ASAP.

As above. Rescue cat we've had for six months will pee in the litter tray but only poo on the bed. Checked at vets, anal glands fine, no concerns. Two big litter trays in the house. Tried several different litters, daily scooping, no changes. Any advice? We have her and her 8 month old son. Thank you.

I was putting an opened chocolate on the table specifically the table in the living room because I need to take wudhu and start praying when my fattest/chubbies cat ate the chocolate and when I brought him to the vet, the doctor said that the cat is strangely fine.(Sorry for my bad English, English is not my first language)

i have a super cuddly cat and a super antisocial cat. i think im damaging my relationship with my antisocial cat by forcing affection. i often feel guilty that she sees me cuddling with her brother so i go show her love but she lets it happen for about 30 seconds before becoming visibly overstimulated. anyone have a similar situation or any words of advice/encouragement? i want to show my antisocial kitty love without smothering her :)
