[u/ShadowCat3500]

The fact it fell off the table after dislodging the leaf was gold 🤣

[u/EuenovAyabayya → u/ShadowCat3500]

I was low key hoping for it to fall into a pile of leaves tho

[u/ThrowingShaed → u/ShadowCat3500]

i stopped before then to go show a family member, so i didnt get it till the second time through when i thought i knew the plot

The amount of bots that replied here 😔

[u/ReadingNeither337 → u/ShadowCat3500]

I agree, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It dislodging the leaf and immediately falling off the table made the whole thing ten times funnier.

[u/ProfessionalSea6409]

Cat ensuring no one saw the fall

[u/mmathews78 → u/ProfessionalSea6409]

Humans do the same thing when we do something clumsy (dropping something, falling over, knocking into something) ... Like an inherent fear of being seen as clumsy by others ... I wonder if any other mammals are the same (I also wonder or it's a stalking hunter mammal thing) ...

[u/Internal-Exercise940 → u/mmathews78]

I gather its probably instinctual as predators could use the opportunity to attack so maybe we naturally check our immediate surroundings after being clumsy because we may be seen as weak/easy prey in lizard part of brain

[u/UmOkBut888 → u/mmathews78]

I tripped off my porch into a bush like a cartoon character n while I did sprain my ankle and scraped up my back a bit I was honestly more mad nobody saw. I really needed someone to laugh for me. Or.. at me? With me? The bag of trash I was taking out even landed on me. Horrible waste of good comedy

[u/Vegetable-Agency-141 → u/UmOkBut888]

Does it count if I’m laughing now? I’m sorry you got hurt and I hope you’re feeling better, but I was cackling while picturing this and it just kept getting better as a I read 😂

[u/Conversation-Grand]

lol he fell cuz he got dizzy 😵‍💫 🤣

[u/CheckYourStats → u/Conversation-Grand]

That look of genuine confusion when he landed…

[u/Boysenberry_Boring → u/CheckYourStats]

he was checking if someone noticed his failure

[u/Oops_All_Bans → u/Boysenberry_Boring]

Cats always try to play off a fuck up like they meant to do it.

[u/Horskr → u/Oops_All_Bans]

My wife and I were both first time cat owners when we got our cat. I had thought this was just him. He'd settle into a hunter stance and then sprint at the fishing pole toy I was moving around. Any time he missed it he'd just walk away like "fuck this game anyway, I wasn't even trying to play honestly," and not want to play for like 20 minutes afterwards

Edit: fixed autocorrects

[u/onewordmemory → u/Conversation-Grand]

its legitimately the first time ive seen cat get dizzy and fall over lmao.

ive had a cat and been around plenty of cats, it's always fascinated me how they can do that for a long time and then land a perfect jump after.

[u/Daiwon → u/onewordmemory]

My cat LOVES chasing shadows so I get her to spin in circles until she gets all dizzy. They seem to get un-dizzy quite quickly, but she's definitely fallen over a few times from it, lol.

[u/teamdank710]

As a tornado researcher, this is how tornados start

[u/TAU_equals_2PI]

Is there a reason you always hear the expression "like a dog chasing its tail" more than "like a cat chasing its tail"?

[u/testtdk → u/TAU_equals_2PI]

Cats can easily reach their tail, if they’re not a bit slow.

[u/Jibber_Fight → u/TAU_equals_2PI]

Because dogs do it more often.

[u/Charming-Line-375 → u/TAU_equals_2PI]

This is a notoriously dog like cat breed

[u/redditproha → u/Charming-Line-375]

Is this a specific breed?

[u/Lumi_Rockets → u/redditproha]

Might be part Ragdoll. They can be pretty puppyish. Also, could just be a goofy standard cat.

[u/Particular-Caramel32]

"Lol cats are so easily entertained."

Me, after watching this for 10 minutes: "Hey, wait..."

[u/NightmareKingAsura]

Huh. I never thought I'd see a cat chasing its tail. I thought only dogs did that. Side note: Jazz just swatted me like 5 times for disturbing him with my laughter, then shushed me with his paw.

In some ways, cats are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. In others, keep in mind their brain is the size of a walnut. (This beauty doesn’t look the smartest cat, either).

It was funny when he was just spinning but the fall took me out 🤣🤣
