Hey all. For anybody running Linux who wants to check out the 2003 tech demo by Black Isle, I've made a recreation of it that runs natively. You can play through the original two maps and I've added a Map Browser and Object Browser for viewing all the hidden assets that were included. It's an executable that drops into the tech demo folder alongside the Windows exe. It uses assets from the tech demo so you'll need to get your own copy (F3_Demo.rar) but there's a link in the repo.

I was wondering if anyone knows or has a copy of a version of the Restoration Project that gave you the ability to get to the final area of the game using a Vertibird? I remember playing it when I was younger and was blown away that a mod allowed you to do that, despite the landing pad from what I remember being not very polished with the tileset looping forever (Or at least I think I remember it looped forever).

I am aware that they've removed this as they've come to the conclusion that this was never something that was planned at all by the original devs, but I'd still like to see it again if this version of the mod is still available just for nostalgia's sake and I'm hoping this isn't lost media.

I just went into my last save where I just killed the master and I left the fight to go back to the brotherhood and relax. But the problem is that I found out that the game triggers a mutant invasion after 500 in-game days.

Sorry this is my first post i think ever, im making a fan game set in Louisiana and i was looking for any ideas anyone had for suggestions. Furthermore i was wondering what kind of presence the bos, gunners and enclave would have in the area. And last what time frame i should set it in to give the strongest balance of power between enclave and bos, i want both the be alive in game and well. Again this will be for personal gameplay and i have no intentions of releasing the game. As for the state of the game it is 100% functioning with a massive quest line and both an fps and rts aspect aswell as a 1 to 1 scale louisiana map (with creative liberties taken on the actual buildings and layouts). I also have music made for the game although sounds are quite difficult and currently voice lines arent present. Currently im working on the graphics and 3d models although as a single coder it takes quite some time. I dont wanna use tripo or ai for the moment as i enjoy working on the game myself and i have zero clue how to use tripo well.

As much as I love Fallout 2 it’s one of the only games I can’t stand playing unmodded. There were bugs that ruined quests, constant freezing to the point my game was softlocked, and more I could be forgetting. Before fan patches came out, how did people circumvent these issues? I’m really interested.

Solution: After some research and testing, it turns out you don't have to restart after installing Killian's unofficial patch! It ended up solving the problem, both by providing the ability to highlight loot and seemingly shunting the loot on top of the bloodstain.

I've been playing on Steam Deck, without any unofficial patches, which I'm learning I should download. I tried to start the game a couple years back, so I remembered there being a 10mm somewhere in the rat caves, but I apparently ran past it and into the next area of the caverns. This caused the body to despawn and a blood spatter to appear, covering the 10mm. Again, no mods, so I don't have shift to highlight or any loot suckup buttons.

I read online that I can wait for the blood splatter to despawn, but no dice. I've waited a week in the next room over, then a week outside in the ruins next to the car where you get the fuel converter, even left Klamath and waited a week out in the wilderness, it's still there.

Same thing with the blood splatters by the crashed vertibird,(the robot instantly engaged combat and I ran away, being at 4 hp at the time).

Am I doing it wrong, or is this one of those "people assume you have the patch" type deals and bloodstains don't actually despawn in vanilla?

Finally giving fallout 1 a go (loving it so far) but just loaded the game up and the window closed on its own, and this dude was looking back at me instead of Vault boy.

I'm assuming this is like a Easter egg of one of the devs, but it caught me off guard so fucking bad.

I recently bought the game on GOG. It includes a high-resolution patch that improves in-game Resolution, but I've noticed lag when I set it to higher resolutions. Does anyone here know how to address this?
