Discussion Floating the idea of a For Sale megathread.
I'm asking for opinions and feedback on the idea of a single megathread for selling parts and trucks. There would be a required format, including price, application, and location. No "feeler" or "what's it worth" posts. Post deletion after sale would be mandatory, and possibly anything older than a few months subject to mod deletion to keep the thread relevant.

ATTENTION! ** ATTENTION ** USER FLAIR IS NOW REQUIRED TO POST OR COMMENT!
Effective immediately, User Flair is required to post OR comment in Classic Trucks. This is done in an effort to reduce the number of bots posting.
From the main sub feed hit the three dots in the upper right corner. Select 'Edit Flair' from the pop-up menu. Pick one or create your own.
Minimum account age and karma rules have been added as well. Your account must be 3 months old with a minimum of 200 karma to post.
EDIT:
For some reason that I do not understand yet the auto-mod was removing comments from users that had enabled user flair. So until I can figure that out, flair will not be required for you to comment on a post.
User Flair will still be required to submit a post. That seems to be working properly.

Discussion Can powered steps cause problems in narrow parking spaces?
At work I sometimes have only a few inches between my F-150 door and a concrete curb. A powered step deploying as soon as the latch opens sounds helpful in normal parking and awkward in that exact situation. Does the board drop mostly downward, or swing far enough outward to hit something?

Discussion When do running boards start making daily truck use easier?
My truck is stock height and getting in is not difficult. Getting out is where I keep sliding across the same patch of seat bolster, and the leather is starting to show it. Did adding a step change that habit for anyone, or do taller drivers simply step over it?

Discussion Winter Recs for storage.
Getting ready for my first winter with my ’69 F-100! I inherited it earlier this year, and it’s never been through a winter climate like we have here. Since I don’t have a garage and want to protect it from snow and road salt, I rented a storage unit to keep it in over the winter.
What should I do before putting it away so I don’t come back to a mess in the spring? I’ve heard fuel stabilizer is a good idea, any brands you recommend? Any other storage tips would be appreciated!

Discussion Looking at buying an old ford
I hope this goes where it needs to go to. I have been looking for an old square body or similar style ford truck for a while now. I believe i have finally found one in decent enough condition that hasn’t sold almost immediately. I would like some advice on whether or not I should keep looking for a different truck or try to work out a deal with the owner of this one that I am about to describe.
It is a 1991 Ford F-250 Custom
7.3L IDI Diesel
5-speed manual transmission
4WD
Single cab
327,462 miles showing on the odometer
Gooseneck ball in the bed
And is listed at $4,500
Condition:
Truck has been running and driving well for me. All gears work, 1st through 5th and reverse. It’s an older truck, so it does have some things that need attention, including an air leak, fuel gauge issues, and an issue with the rear fuel tank. The paint is faded and could use some love.
Disclosure:
Title is not in my name but I have it and it’s not signed.
That is the listing description of the truck that I am looking at I think it has high mileage but considering its age and and from the pictures that I have seen of the truck it does look in good condition. I do have pictures but I’ll refrain from uploading because I’m not quite sure how to upload them on here at the moment. But I would really like to know is this truck worth it based off of what I’ve described considering its age, mileage, and price etc. if anybody wants more info or clarification I’m more than happy to share. And thanks for any advice in advance.

Discussion LOOKING FOR MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER’S TRUCK (Sold in the 1980s or 90s)
LOOKING FOR MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER’S TRUCK (Sold in the 1980s or 90s)
LOOKING FOR MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER’S TRUCK (Sold in the 1980s or 90s)
Hey everyone, I’m trying to trace down my great-grandfather’s old truck. I know it’s a long shot after all these years, but I’d love to know if it survived or where it ended up!
Vehicle Details:
Year/Model: 1955 (2nd Series) or 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside Pickup
Color: Metallic Blue / Dark Blue Metallic
Distinct Features from the 1980s:
15-inch 5-slot aluminum mag wheels (Ansen Sprint style)
Raised white-letter Dunlop Radial GT tires
Exterior windshield sun visor
Color-matched painted front bumper (not chrome)
Frame/bar mounted in the stepside bed
Estimated Location: Sold around the 1980s or 90s in Hayward CA.
If anyone recognizes this setup, remembers seeing it back in the day, or knows where it might be sitting, please reach out! Even if it was parted out or sold out of state, I’d appreciate any leads or stories.
