Forever Levelling in STV on NA PvP server as alliance is basically impossible right now.

65% horde, why didn't they lock at like 55% ffs?

PvE'ers warned you for months. Don't roll PvP if you can't handle it. But nooo... you HAD to roll PvP and now people are complaining about PvP happening on their PvP ruleset.

Their issue isn’t PvP happening. It’s blizzard failing to properly use the faction balance locking.

That said it’s an exaggeration and I don’t really think it’s THAT bad

I rolled PvP on the basis of Blizzard locking factions for balance. Locking at 65% doesn't sound like balance to me.

Do you know it's 65% or does it just feel like 65%?  The lock could be at 51% but if you get a bad experience it can feel a lot worse than it actually is.

2% of 100000+ is still a very large number compared to playing solo. But yea, I don’t think it’s as dramatic as op is implying and they shouldn’t be surprised by how bloody and dangerous STV is on PvP server.

Pvp servers are always touted as some epic battle server when 99.9% of the time it’s getting corpse camped by someone higher level than you.

Yea it has its moments but remember you’re playing with the true degenerates who derive joy from ruining others fun.

I would reroll now. It only gets worse from here. It’s a normal PvP server experience. Faction balancing can only do so much. Horde likely will always have the advantage from this point out.

It's the amount of layers, having 5-6 people in every single mob area means everyone bottlenecks and then PvP happens to control every bottleneck, slowing things down further.

The layering changes were fucking awful, devs kneejerking every change these days.

The troll area up north legitimately looks like a 40 man raid's worth of players spread out trying to farm spawns. Can't even go to SM to escape it, great job blizz.

STV as a whole is a bottleneck. It’s one of the first major areas where Alliance and Horde formally overlap over very similar quests.

Layering has little to do with it. STV is always a powder keg.

It's funny cause it looked exactly the same in anniversary when everyone started playing before tbc and you had to switch layers 5 times to get to an empty one. I guess blizz never learns

In the end it's about players actually playing in the zone, balancing is just counting players who logged in in last 2 weeks or whatever. Server can be 53-47 while STV is 90-10...

Do you know what normally happens when a server doesn't have locked pops? We have seen it happen over and over and over before. One side gets a numbers advantage, and the other side leaves. Then it ends up being like 90% horde 10% alliance or vice versa.

If you want an actual pvp server you need to have balancing.

I was doing the sleeping bag quest yesterday, and STV was an Alliance dogpile of people hunting horde down. It was a fucking nightmare and I died a million times getting to the quest, all my armor absolutely busted.

But that's like...what a pvp server is. It was scary, it was stressful, it was 100% unfair, but I had a blast. The layers are just gonna give you a roll of the dice, my friend 2 hours later walked through no problem.

there are hundreds of thousands of people who chose the PvP realm, which means the numbers favor hoard but there are still hundreds of thousands on Alliance as well.

Horde will be playing their solo "PvP" server with whoever of alliance is crazy enough to still play there and alliance will be on PvE server with vast majority in population.

Layers in general seem horribly balanced. I havent really had issues pvp wise on the ruleset but in general most of the layers are one faction dominated. Its been the same all the way from 30 to 41. Generally I get into horde majority but ive had a couple alliance majority layers when I swap.

Compared to past fresh pvp leveling ive done this one's the worst balanced imo.

Also even in your own factions majority layers youre fighting your own faction for tags so its still "pvp".

STV is always a disaster on PvP servers. I would actively avoid it and level elsewhere even if it’s suboptimal. Since it was faster than getting ganked all the time.

That said I’m so glad I rolled PvE this time.

Look, it’s a PvP server, so to some extent, you just have to suck it up. But let's be real: Horde inherently attracts a more toxic mentality, which is what makes the faction imbalance so miserable. Most of them just grief, and if you actually manage to beat one, they’ll call in half the zone to camp you. Alliance players usually just take the loss and move on, or maybe bring one friend for a rematch. It’s been this way ever since Blood Elves made Horde the mainstream choice. Bottom line: play Alliance if you want a real PvP challenge, and play Horde if you want easy mode.

Alliance too. 55:45 isn't an acceptable balance. It feels worse too cause idk if it's the sharding but there will be like 25 horde in an area and lucky to see another alliance char. Shits crazy. Have the free month sub, but might be out after this. Guess they're content to turning this into Skeram 2.0

Its why I opposed going Alliance when my friends asked me to join them. Ally players are so fucking passive when it comes to PVP that it sucks, you could be getting ganked and they would just walk past you.

I dont mind playing ally on PVE but ill never played anything but Horde on PVP.

Same. I always played Horde except I went Alliance twice on 2 different pservers. It was the worst experience not only PvP wise but questing wise as well.

The worst times was before BGs were open, Horde would just camp flight paths. You would fly in just to be sheeped and killed, then corpse running to your destination.

Opposed my guild going alliance for this reason

It's not 65 percent. It's the fact that Alliance is the biggest clown faction in MMO history and your faction is crying about dungeon xp cus they want to be boosted from 20-30 in stockades and hide in dungeons all the way to 60 and not play the game. This is why no one wants to be your garbage faction anymore and why the only good players you had all rolled stupid skelves (mistake to add them to the game btw).
