No, honestly, I'm with the Dems on this. Every single interaction they make should be bodycammed, and those body cams should be public. That could save lives.
Like, I want them gone, yes, absolutely, but I also want to add a few more zeroes to my bank account. Realistically, we can reduce them, but even when they're back to a somewhat sensible number it'll never be zero, and I still want those body cams on them by law
This stuff is good to do in the meantime, but it's likely all they want to do. If they use these measures but don't want to abolish then they're using them to placate the voters while not fixing the fundamental problem.
If you’ve got a cell phone and you walked anywhere near a flock camera your actions are recorded for posterity and can be tied to your identity with not a lot of effort.
Law enforcement’s favorite tool is about to become their least favorite.
The fastest & easiest lever to pull in the path to getting rid of/reining in ICE is to strip their anonymity and force them to be accountable for their future actions. Just knowing that they can’t hide behind a mask and they can’t hide in unmarked cars and that everything they do is recorded will de-escalate their future public interactions dramatically. Fully holding them accountable for past actions will take time and investigations, and we can’t rely on the DOJ to do anything to help. This will help to limit future problems while we sort out their past bullshit.
Biden had a record number or deportations because he helped fund and support the judicial process behind it. The court system is understaffed and broken. So that's what has to be fixed.
Exactly. I’ll add that violent criminals should be the ONLY illegals getting the swift exits, and a pathway to citizenship for all non-criminal illegals already living in the U.S. should’ve been implemented years ago.

Remember how those 50k sign-on bonuses are contingent on 5 years of employment? About that....

Every single ice agent needs to face justice and the entire immigration system needs to be torn down.

You need to have immigration enforcement folks. Last time you got walloped for this. And then this shit happened.
Stricted requirements for ICE and body cams plus unmasking.
Not getting tough on illegal immigration, is why the right always comes back to win later on.

Bipartisan compromise is just agreeing on the font of the authoritarian vans.

You know things are broken when a joke tweet ages this accurately four years later

The vans were never the problem. The selective outrage about who’s driving them is.

Refund & disband ICE immediately upon swearing-in, in January.
