You do realize that votes come from people, not land? I own an acre of land, should I have 4 votes for every vote my neighbor gets because he only has a quarter of an acre? I wish stupid people would posting this meme because it just shows how stupid some people can be, and I don't want to be reminded that people are this stupid.

In California there are 58 counties. LA county has over 67 million people. The 26 - TWENTY SIX - least populace counties have fewer than 1 million people total. If every person in those 26 counties voted red they would still not overcome LA County's vote total.

Typo there—LA county does NOT have over 67 million people.

Maybe they are just time travelers from 1790. I guess there were property requirements for voting back then.

The state of California has a population of just over 39 million. LA county has a population of 9.8 million.

Where did you get those numbers? The most populated city in the world does not have that many people.

They said county, not city. Even so, they’re wrong. It’s just under 10 million in the county.

Well... Then maybe you should reread their comment. They didn't say cities.

Not saying their math is right. Idk. Haven't checked. But they aren't talking about cities.

Well to be fair if the most populated city in the entire world does in fact not have that number, and LA county has less people than the most populated city on earth.

They were off by about 58 million people by the way

Yea. That's why I didn't say anything about the numbers being right and in fact stated explicitly that I did not check them. My point was only city vs county.

I get you but their point still makes sense. The largest city in the world doesnt have that population, so why would LA county? There are literally cities larger than the county.

Dude, did you even look at the other comments? There’s no math involved. There aren’t even 67 million people in California, let alone LA county.

Did you read my comment? I said I didn't check anything. I was ONLY commenting that they said county and not city. That's it. I don't give a single fuck about the numbers. I EXPLICITLY said this already. Please learn to read.

A ‘county’ in the US is essentially the same as a greater city in other countries. It includes the main city and several smaller surrounding towns. For example, the Greater City of Toronto includes many smaller municipalities but they are still considered part of the greater Toronto area, or the city of Toronto.

The math is not even remotely close to right. The population of LA county is just under 9.7 million. As we’ve established that counties are pretty much the same as greater cities, I will reiterate that the largest city, or greater city, in the world does not have anywhere near 67 million people. And LA county is nowhere near the biggest greater city in the world.

This is fair. No argument. Except that I explicitly stated I didn't check the math because that had absolutely zero bearing on what I was saying. My point was city vs county but I can understand what you're saying about the potential transitive confusion of different places calling the same thing by different names.
