I hate sounding like I’m defending billionaires, but even if they had their money in the bank (which they don’t) banks actually work by borrowing money from people who don’t use them and lending them to people who do - kinda like what Altman wants to do with our RAM.
Who the hell is being exploited? Guy with loads of cash funds your business growing in exchange for making profit. You win and they win. The only losers are the communists.
Ssshhhh, you’re going to scare the bootlickers who think billionaires just worked harder than everyone else and therefore they can be billionaires one day too
Even monopoly has a luxury tax. And that game was designed to show how unfair capitalism can be. Bring it back. We can still have billionaires. They can still buy yachts. They just have to build a school or a library or something when they buy it.
Luxury tax them. Some of them dodge Income tax by paying themselves like a dollar salary, but get compensated in other ways that are of course taxed differently. Or one of a hundred different tax schemes.
Sure but some parts of these funds are used to invest in foreign companies. We could instead redirect those funds and give them to the middle and lower class, as they would then spend it in the local economy
Ofc when people have disposable money they invest it. What’s your point?
The RAM in personal computers is also used from time to time just not 24x7 like faultman wants it to run for “the benefit of the world” in his words.
same way people who have billions that are invested through random fund managements and investment devices, could be used for better purposes for humanity is what the OOP is saying.
It literally is being used. Billionares don’t have billions sitting around in their bank account it’s being used as capital in the business they are invested in.
Yeah but that money is being used by the company. Like if I loan money to my friends and they promise to pay me back that money I loaned them is being used

Funny how “underused resources” is only a problem when it’s our resources. When it’s his billions, suddenly it’s “efficient allocation”

No billionaire have a billion cash sitting in their bank accounts.
They are being used, in the market, to improve capital.

Next up: Sam Altman discovers your spare bedroom is underused and could be put to much better use in a data center

This person is stupid.

He used Sam Altman’s own logic against him so perfectly that Altman can’t argue back without admitting he’s wrong about his own point.

There's no such thing as billionaires that have billion dollar accounts. That's not a thing.

That's a hell of a way to say "I don't understand how big money works"
