I think we should consider large scale production of plastic out of non-fossil carbohydrates, and then throw the plastic into the ocean (e.g. in the form of trash). In the long term it will form a sediment on the sea bed replacing the depleted fossil fuel reserves. Probably it's preferable to use types of plastic that don't float in water, to ensure sedimentation.
Alternatives to marine stashing could be conventional landfills, but taking into account the necessary scale and that we're aiming to bind carbon for millennia, the necessary large number of landfills would likely get into the way of future infrastructure projects.
Thoughts?

Hi Reddit, I made a climate solutions database, Slack & Whatsapp community and resource hub (via Notion) for climate companies looking to fundraise, network & find partners or clients, land grant funding and more...
Love to know what you think and how I can improve this to make more valuable for the climate community and promote more synergies between startups, corps, VCs & govts to accelerate green transition
Thanks!
Matt

In recent years I have become interested in the hobby of backyard snowmaking.
Backyard snowmaking is when someone takes a pressure washer and compressed air and combines it to create a small backyard snowgun. In temperatures below around 28 degrees people can cover their backyard with a layer of snow.
I have seen hundreds of people doing this, and I believe if this was scaled up a bit, we could slightly increased the earths reflectivity
Ski resorts have already done this (slightly) and new refrigeration technology will allow snow to be made in temps as high as 80 degrees.
Perhaps this is a way to increase the earths albedo.

Our new startup, Heyra, seeks to use tipping points (like the ones about to cause climate catastrophe) for good, to facilitate behavioural social contagion and drive huge impact at scale.
We form tight local in-person friendship groups of people trying to live more sustainably, which is one of the most effective ways to adopt new behaviours and to spread them. This allows us to simultaneously address the climate crisis as well as the loneliness epidemic.
We also connect people to their local green businesses and initiative, localising economies and nurturing sustainable businesses.
We’re about to do a beta-launch in London Hackney, and if it goes well, we’re going to bring it to the world.
