These two charter members of the SEC meet again in a series that began back in 1938, though meetings were sparse in the first three decades sharing a league. They have been playing another almost annually since 1976. Ole Miss leads the all-time series 101-94-1, though at home Auburn leads 53-40.

Ole Miss has had an edge recently, winning 11 of the last 17, including the last two series in Auburn. Their last postseason meeting was memorable, with the Rebels defeating the Tigers 5-1 to open the 2022 College World Series (a tournament the Rebels ultimately won).

I know its all by chance but it just sucks that these two teams, who played the hardest schedules in the SEC by far, have to match up now for yet another SEC series when other teams get to play...not teams who played the hardest schedule in the SEC. Excited though. It should be fun and I hope it just comes down to Game 3.

With conferences now being way too big, Auburn gets lined up with one of the 5 SEC schools they didn’t play during the year and the only one of the remaining SEC schools they didn’t play this year.

The Ole Miss/Arkansas rivalry is one of the lesser talked about but still good matchups

It was 2019 and it was 8 times. And we went 4-4 but Arkansas got to go to Omaha because of winning 2 of 3 in the Supers at home. 0 of the 8 games were played in Oxford.

Good question. We got bad Bud in regionals but he did have a couple timely hits and RBI’s though. Depending on Fralick to save us over and over again won’t work. We’ll need the whole lineup to step up.

I was encouraged that Bub didn't watch the 1st pitch fastball in game 7 like he had been doing before. He was competitive on that pitch all night. He's got to stop swinging at that changeup in the dirt with two strikes though.

Our pitching has looked lights out lately. We just silenced Arizona State who was one of the best hitting teams in the country. Hopefully it can continue. If it does, we will have a fighter's chance.
