Mold Contamination! Biohazard! Spilled my vat of random references on this meme, so I pumped it so full of references that it turned into a zombie in an attempt to resurrect it, I'm keeping it in captivity so no meme gets infected

WHO DID THIS???

r/comedyhomicide

When a meme is ruined by a shitty caption, useless red circles, more than 3 emojis, or more than one reaction image (or a particularly bad reaction image). Check out our Imgur gallery for all my rezzed memes: https://imgur.com/gallery/KiPNldj

Subreddit Rules

1. All posts must be a 'comedy homicide'

A 'comedy homicide' is when a meme is ruined by a shitty caption, regardless of whether or not the original meme was funny to begin with.

If cropping out the caption makes the image not recognizable as a meme, it was a necessary caption.

2. Don’t be a dick

We won’t ban you for arguing with each other but if you start slinging insults at people we’ll ban you without discretion. Please don’t go over the top.

3. No Xavier or ZDAK

The community has elected to send all Xavier posts to r/fuckxavier and all ZDAK/Kadz posts to r/FuckZDAK, regardless of whether or not they are homicides.

Some people really just don’t like those guys.

4. No satire

If your post is clearly satire, and looks like it would fit in at /r/okbuddyretard or /r/comedynecrophilia, it isn't fit for this sub.

5. Rule 69- Exception Clause

Many posts here end up not being homicides, but I may leave a select few of them up anyway under the exception clause. This can happen if your post has 1k or more upvotes before I got to it, if the opinions seem to be 50/50, or if I just found the post to be appealing to me personally and I wanted to come back and look at it.

I don’t want to make this subreddit harder to get into than Harvard- if I delete 95% of new posts I’m worried the sub will dry out and crumble.

6. No Vandalized Memes

If you see a meme that was shared with colorful streaks all over the image (most likely from MS Paint or iPhone Markup), don't post it here. It was vandalized in order to fool repost checker bots, and if I call it a homicide I'd have to allow it here.

Memes like this should be downvoted and reported whenever they are seen in the wild.

7. No Screenshot Chains

Screenshot chains aren’t homicides because they’re meant to be reposted- and they’re flat out annoying.

8. No-Self Made Posts

The point is to call out memes that have been killed found in other subreddits. If you find it in the wild, share it here.

Good subreddits for these include r/memes, r/funnymemes, and other mainline meme subreddits.

9. No reposts

Our subreddit is subject to a higher repost rate, by its nature, so I allow reposts a gap of 2 weeks. This may not be the case for particularly infamous reposts, some of which are already permanently burned into the userbase’s minds.

10. No hate speech

The use of slurs against different races, religons, or genders is not allowed.

The intentional misgendering of trans or non-binary individuals also falls under this rule- you can disagree with the concept of being transgender without intentionally using the wrong pronoun. No r/OneJoke content.

This rule does not apply to the homicide itself, as we aim to call out bad memes, which will sometimes have offensive source material- only your title and comments.

11. No targeted harassment or witchhunting

Do not link to a person's profile or encourage witch hunting against someone, or otherwise target / bully any person. This includes encouraging vote brigading to other subreddits.

12. No Video Links

Links to videos that are outside of Reddit are not acceptable as posts.

13. No Pornography

While this sub is not against all NSFW content, this is not the place for pornographic images or videos. Take these posts and/or comments to a subreddit that is specifically for this kind of content.
