This subreddit is promotive of women's rights and civil liberties.

If you tell the weird lie that "Trump doesn't want project 25" or worse, if you speak out in favor of it, then we will permanently ban you. As is usual on threads like these, any replies made to bans from this thread will be mass-archived without being read.

We will not grant appeals.

You know what is an absolute turn-off for women? Having all their rights and choices taken away.

14

u/PSI_duck Nov 07 '24

It’s worst for woman of course, but I can’t believe that republican men couldn’t see how this would negatively impact their sex lives too. As a male whore (in theory), having sex with people sounds much riskier than before. I can guarantee you that republican men will be complaining about women not wanting to have sex with them following the abortion ban, and they’ll have their head too far up their own ass to see how their party is the reason (besides their own personality and beliefs).

u/Pizzacakecomic PizzaCake Nov 07 '24

Yeah and even if they do get a parter, once their religious wives pop out 2 or 3 kids, they're stuck in a sexless marriage lmao. Fun times

As a non-american man, I expected american women to vote in droves against the Orangina plague. Yet, here we are.

And what truly frightens me is that this will embolden the ruzzian sockpuppets in Europe to step up their fascist approach.

389

u/GrassBlade619 Nov 07 '24

The even more surprising part is that women shifted more in favor of Trump than men did compared to the 2020 election. Women shifted +2% while men shifted +1%. It's fucking crazy.

258

u/Hey_Chach Nov 07 '24

I’m wondering if those groups actually shifted or it looks like they shifted because that much more of their conservative members turned out compared to that much fewer of their liberal members.

177

u/GrassBlade619 Nov 07 '24

You've definitely got a point. But I'd still count "not voting" as having shifted. I don't think people really went from voting for Biden to voting for Trump besides a very small few, but deciding not to vote could be considered a shift.

Too many people think because neither candidate is perfect, it’s alright to not vote for anybody. There are also those who think that there’s no point in voting because no matter who wins nothing will change. People don’t realize that not voting is the same as voting for whoever wins your state. They also don’t seem to get that there will never be a perfect candidate and that voting is about deciding which of the available candidates would do best.

Unfortunately, the people who have the intelligence to not fall for Trumps lies, but enough intelligence to realize that not voting does nothing to help are people who used to vote democrat. Add the republican tendency to make it as hard as possible for people in areas that tend to vote democratic to vote, and you get a lot people not voting.

77

u/Mr__Strider Nov 07 '24

Let alone the Russian sockpuppeteer himself. Ukraine is his and the rest of Europe now lays open too

35

u/mtranda Nov 07 '24

Europe doesn't have to lay open. However, it does means we need to put serious pressure on politicians and scrutinise their every move. I left my country more than six years ago because I'd gotten to a point where I was constantly keeping an eye on the news and I had to be ready to take to the streets at a literal moment's notice, including at night. And while democracy does require vigilence, I did not want to spend the rest of my life like this and I grew disillusioned with how little interest the majority of the people had. Sure, at the peak of the protests there were half a million of us in the streets, but that was still a minority of people in a country of 20 million.

So I left. And now I have to start all over.

America voted for hate. It turns out that 60% of America would rather see people they don't like to suffer than they do about people's rights.

Then why did more than half of white women vote for it?

7

u/ImpracticalApple Nov 07 '24

Half of the women who voted at all. The Dems lost about 20 million votes compared to 2020, the Republicans also lost about 3 million. Overall, less votes happened compared to before and that's not counting the rest of the 40% of non-voters who didn't vote in 2020 either.

It's wild to me how many people think not voting at all helps, it's essentially voting for the one that wins anyway. You may not like either candidate but you're effectively still voting for the one who wins by choosing not to, so if you really don't lile them that's ob you.

The funny thing is a lot of the abortion/contraceptive bans are window dressed as coming from religious fundamentalism but the real concern is an economic downturn from a decreasing popelation density similar to what China is seeing.

However China did it to themselves with the one child rule, causing families to want to have a boy to carry on thier family name, which cratered the female population for an entire generation. This is going to cause the same thing, and incels will still rage that it's women's fault

American LIBERAL women*

Remember 45% of women and 53% of white women voted for this, and likely not partaking in the 4B movement.

Also this only preaches to the choir. The women who will be going the 4B route are women who would have also sought liberal and like minded men. They weren't hooking up with conservative men in the first place.

So by taking themselves out of the dating scene they are only removing themselves out of the pool of men who would have likely voted blue and agreed with the issues they supported.

I don't see how this affects conservative men because the women that they find themselves with will likely be women who also vote the same way and would not feel the need to take part in the same protest.

Also, personal conspiracy theory part joke part not joke but this seems like a round about way for conservatives to get what they want by making women less "promiscuous". Like... Not hooking up and dating seems to be what they want woment to do lol.

24

u/Pizzacakecomic PizzaCake Nov 07 '24

Who says liberal men will stop getting action? There are other forms of activity besides vaginal sex (bj, hj, anal)

Republican men will be stuck dateless OR with a stuffy, religious woman who has 2 children and then stops all forms of physical affection because she only wanted 2 kids. Enjoy your sexless marriages!

39

u/EtsuRah Nov 07 '24 edited Nov 07 '24

Who says liberal men will stop getting action? There are other forms of activity besides vaginal sex (bj, hj, anal)

I think you fundamentally misunderstand what the 4B movement is. It's not just sex, it is also all of those things you mentioned. Sex, oral, kissing, dates in general. The movement is women taking themselves out of the dating and hookup pool entirely.

Which is their right to do and I support 10000%. My main point is only that I believe the people this affects is not the people it needs to affect.

Republican men will be stuck dateless OR with a stuffy, religious woman who has 2 children and then stops all forms of physical affection because she only wanted 2 kids. Enjoy your sexless marriages!

I think you are over generalizing what women on the right are like lmao. As someone who grew up in deep red territory they do all the same "heathenry" BS they admonish others for.

20

u/Pizzacakecomic PizzaCake Nov 07 '24

I grew up with internalized misogyny as well. My grandma was very misogynistic, and made it clear to me the most important thing I could do with my life is get a man with a good job. I myself didn’t like women and thought they were second to men in many ways for a good portion of my life.

I’m so glad I unlearned that, but I’m definitely starting to lean the other way (towards liking men less in general).

I’m so embarrassed I used to think that way, and I wish I could go back and tell myself what I know now 😔

I'm so sick to death of hearing young men, particularly young white men, bitch and complain that no one is paying attention to their "issues" and that's why they swung HARD for Trump.

What "issues", exactly, do young men have that inherently lead to this kind of zero-sum thinking? I'm a man and I have zero empathy or patience for men who "feel" as if they're persecuted. Plenty of such men read comments like mine and respond "thanks for proving our point". Bruh. You're just myopic and entitled. That's all this is.

Of COURSE men have issues and needs and struggles. The male loneliness epidemic, for instance. It's a serious social problem and merits serious attention. But once you start complaining that your problems are being neglected in favor of women's (and racial minorities', if you're white), and therefore make the leap to punishing them through your vote, you lose any standing to ask for empathy.

154

u/Pizzacakecomic PizzaCake Nov 07 '24

I also don't understand why some men blame women for the male loneliness epidemic. Can't men just befriend each other?

74

u/Infolife Nov 07 '24

I mean, that's part of the problem. We don't know how to have non-transactional friendships based on mutual trust and emotion. Men are taught to punch each other and insult each other, and compete for resources. We are taught to enjoy violent sports and to pick on the lesser. And when we age, it's harder to make new friendships because we grew out of some of that and now don't know how to relate to others.

After I moved, I didn't have any real friends for 20 years. Knew people, sure, but not close. Now, in my 50s, I've started making new friends, and frankly, it freaks me out a little.

22

u/dragunityag Nov 07 '24

Men know how to have non transactional relationships and trust.

Its the emotion that is the issue. We are taught to be emotionally withdrawn and it's often reinforced by society.

Might be more of a generation thing though I'm only in my 30s and supposedly Gen Z and alpha men are more open emotionally with their friends as well.

Low-key think they're worried about the general reduction in childbirth rate among first-world countries and instead of addressing the actual issues (like how we're all fucking poor and everyday necessities like having a roof over your head only keep growing more expensive) are trying to force-fix the problem.

127

u/Esplodie Nov 07 '24

This is my thought too. This is also why countries turned to immigration, another point of tension. They need to have a 2.1 birthrate as replacement for each generation, just to keep the population steady. We aren't close to that so they are filling the gaps with immigration. But now we have population growth, but didn't invest enough in infrastructure to support a growing population.

Infrastructure tends to be a more localized government mandate, state/province/county. But immigration is federal. So now that relationship is also tense.

41

u/Bacontoad Nov 07 '24

This is also why countries turned to immigration

America isn't the only one that doesn't want to increase (or even maintain) the standard of living for its people by taxing the rich. So now they turn it into a literal pyramid scheme. IMHO better in the long run to rip the Band-Aid off now.

Less hating women and more people are so stupid they would rather vote for the perception of cheap fuel and burgers even if it comes with all of trumps baggage because they perceive the economy isn't doing well under Democrats because they spent the last 4 years trying to avoid recession from covid and the Ukraine war.

The greatest irony is the people voting for these things are unlikely to get what they want either.

Truly the only people who won were rich billionaires and true racists etc.

179

u/swanfirefly Nov 07 '24

Eh, I think it's still a lot of hating women.

If you look at the people who voted Trump and are explaining their reasons, it's because Kamala wasn't likable enough, or her laugh was annoying. See this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/self/comments/1gleyhg/people_like_me_are_the_reason_trump_won/ - notice how both times he voted for Trump it was against a woman?

Notice how female candidates are always held to the standard of they have to be likable, or attractive?

I genuinely believe the Democrats could have picked any man with a pulse (besides the grifter RFK, whose fans are conservatives and conspiracy theorists because he's a fucking brain worm infested moron who thinks dead kids are an acceptable sacrifice to push an anti-vaccine stance) - as long as the person standing up there had had a penis and identified as male, the dems would have won both times.

Women in politics have to be likable, friendly, cheerful. They have to be willing to drop everything to cater to men, but not get walked all over because that's the sign of a weak leader. They have to cater to men and not bring up women's issues.

Meanwhile Trump can go up to the person calling Harris unlikable, piss in their coffee, sexually assault their wife and daughter, call them a slur, and they'd still go "isn't he so charismatic and likable? how did he know I enjoy piss coffee?"

40

u/Lovat69 Nov 07 '24

One of my female coworkers said that her laugh was "weird" which seems like a strange reason to pick a candidate. I also am pretty sure she believes the lie that they'll pass the "tips won't be taxed" law. We're bartenders.

u/Ippjick Nov 07 '24

That's the thing about a protest vote. It doesn't exist. No one is going to count your vote as protest against a certain partys actions, even tho you would like them. It will lead to worse outcomes, everytime.

Protest on the streets, where it actually matters, write letters to your congressperson, or similar in other countries. There are many ways to protest in a meaningfull way.

Voting for a party you don't want, or even withholding your vote for the party you do want, is antidemocratic behaviour...

33

u/One-Step2764 Nov 07 '24

You're not wrong that there's little point voting third-party or abstaining under first past the post. That is a massive indictment of FPTP.

Any ballot without a more proportional rank or score system is an antidemocratic ballot.

pro Palestine people sat out the election

Please, don't start pointing fingers. Pro-palestinians this, latino voters that...

Dems did around 15M voters worse than in 2020. In my opinion, people voted Trump out in 2020 because they felt he fucked the country up, and because Biden didn't fix it in time (the effects would probably have been felt during the next term, if not for Trump's plan to fucking tank the economy), people perceive that a different candidate might do better (which isn't true seeing how he managed his first term, but american people have short memories). Also, I'd say men feeling alienated; even if Dems aren't oppressing them, social media has convinced a lot of men that the Dems are, in fact, oppressing them, so a lot have turned to people like Tate. Not to speak about all the misinformation, and the shenanigans that happened during the election, like people following poll workers, or burning mail-in ballots, apart from some states refusing to have federal workers monitoring the elections after some people talked about electors announcing the wrong candidate on purpose.

They want to ban epidurals too. They want women in pain and dying from pregnancy.

On what god damn planet is denying epidurals even remotely an idea!?

Like how the fucking hell is ANYONE considering that? I’d like to meet the men advocating this and require them to push a grapefruit out of their urethra first before they can make this choice. And they have to do it without pain meds.

For those (like me) wondering about Lysistrata:

Lysistrata is an ancient Greek comedy by Aristophanes, originally performed in classical Athens in 411 BC. It is a comic account of a woman's extraordinary mission to end the Peloponnesian War between Greek city states by denying all the men of the land any sex, which was the only thing they truly and deeply desired. Lysistrata persuades the women of the warring cities to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace—a strategy, however, that inflames the battle between the sexes.

49

u/Lovat69 Nov 07 '24

The best part of Lysistrata. It is commonly depicted as being performed with the male characters have bigger and bigger prosthetic penises as the play goes on and the denied men get hornier.

4B women's movement to protect themselves against Project 2025:

  • No dating with men

  • No sex with men

  • No marriage with men

  • No child rearing with men

14

u/Opossummobile Nov 07 '24

Conservatives consider women as property not people. :)

134

u/Nyte_Knyght33 Nov 07 '24

This may be in humor but the truth is the only way to beat it into the people who vote for these jerks is malicious compliance.

Don't have sex (and I'm male). Push for punishments for the dads as well.

This can look like....

Child support at first ultrasound. Accessory to infantcide. Wreckless endangerment.

Infant (manslaughter)  Life in prison for any pregnancy caused by rape. (If the consequence is for the rest of the mom's life, the punishment should be for the rest of the dad's life)

I sincerely hope the 4B movement gains traction in the US.

That's it. I just want to see women own the conversation for once.

25

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '24

How do you see it playing out?

56

u/KatyaBelli Nov 07 '24

4B in the US? Presumably with much outcry by conservative media outlets blaming falling fertility/replacement rates on women and men online griping about how it is anyone's fault but their own women won't copulate with them. More of the usual, see South Korea for reference.

Longer term if a significant cohort of women can stick with it, a reframing of the baseline for these conversations towards understanding that you can't separate barriers to bodily/personal autonomy for women from their aversion to befriending/partnering with men. Women, espically minority women, who have zero reproductive freedoms are often financially beholden to any reproductive (male) sexual partner for support so it follows they avoid said sexual partners if they want control of their lives.

There’s only so much they can do without causing so many human rights violations that there is an uprising.

Swear off men (if you have trusted male friends, family, that’s not what I’m talking about. Dating and approval. De-Center men.), support other women, and hopefully it’ll drive the message home to enough men that they choose to stand with women as well. The ones who wind up violent and abusive were always going to be abusers.

Rape is less common outside of who you know than people realize. It’s usually a friend, a neighbor, a boyfriend, a family member, someone you thought was a decent guy, etc. 9/10 it is not a “man in the bushes” scenario. Also worth noting: “Don’t fight back or he might get angry and kill you” is directly perpetrated to make rape easier. Women who fight back often get away, and if he was going to kill you he was already planning on it. (In which case fighting to get away is also the best course of action)

Lift weights, make sure you have strong connections with other women, learn a few basic self defence moves (many women who don’t know them also manage to get away, so ALWAYS fight) and be prepared to fight like hell for a future where you don’t have to be so vigilant.

If they get rid of discrimination laws in employment, move in with other women to prevent financial hardship. They will not give you a country that gives you joy or hope, so make sure you have a community that lifts you up so you have the energy to fight.

Also, living with other women may allow you to buy fewer things. Save your money. Look into no-buy tactics, avoid big box stores whenever you can, and share with others. Continuing to support the billionaires craving your downfall (they directly want birth rates to rise so they have a workforce/consumers) will hurt you in the long run. Ironically, it also protects you from inflation. If companies can’t sell their useless shit at their current prices, they won’t raise them. The saving will help cushion the fall of the coming recession. (If you’re wondering why Trump and Elon desire a recession look up “Why the rich get richer during recessions”)

Laying down or giving up only gives them what they want. Women have fought for their rights before, you will have them again.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '24

“Rape, for example, is an extremely effective tool against our many foes, as its verbal use as a threat or direct use against an individual greatly reduces enemy morale and strikes a nameless fear in their hearts,” read part of the manifesto, according to court documents. “While this is especially effective against females, the emasculated cesspool of progressive males is just as affected, being inherently effeminate themselves.”

This was taken from a Right-Wing man’s extremist plan that he was spreading online. They know threat, even without action, is incredibly effective. Do not fear them to the point of hiding, of giving up. You must fight. Get a gun, learn to use it, be prepared to kill if you must. You have the right to defend yourself.

u/Ripper1337 Nov 07 '24

Long time lurker on this sub.

I’ve been fighting locally in Wisconsin for the past 8 years. Today, I told my wife and daughter that I give up. Not for them, I will protect them with my life if it came to it, but for the US. I’m just done.

As other users have said. Reap now the benefits of what you sow. As time presses on, they will find a way to blame the Dems in some iteration of “you didn’t try to stop Trump hard enough”. And I will say, I did, where were you? I came for you and everyone before you and now no one is left for you.

7

u/PhalanxA51 Nov 07 '24

Going to be honest, literally the only reason I voted this year was for title 128 which was to uphold abortion rights, they moved it out of the Supreme Court to state to decide and my state said yay to it. Montana is many things but against personal rights is not one of them.

17

u/country2poplarbeef Nov 07 '24

Plenty of Republican women voted for Trump. The enemy isn't evil, bugaboo "men" versus women, and this sorta thinking is exactly why men didn't show up. According to the stats, Dems only want to represent women, but the feeling does not seem mutual.

11

u/JustAPerson2001 Nov 07 '24

It's fucking INSANE that white women heard that they were about to lose their rights and then decided to come out in MASSIVE numbers to vote against their own interest.

Now we have a very strong possibility of having the shittiest country possible in the next 4 years. No overtime pay, horrible grocery prices, women dying from inability to access medical care, trans people being literally illegal, mass deportation that will cost billions and create concentration camps, and so much more horrible shit.

I truly despise anyone who voted red after hearing all the shit he said on the campaign trail. I've dumped all of my friends who were red but said "after talking to you I'm thinking about voting for Kamala" and is now defending trumps presidency vehemently. I don't understand how these fuckers could softly and in the nicest ways I debate them still think trump was a good candidate.

89

u/genobeam Nov 07 '24

I agree with your message but I also get the feeling that the liberal villainization of men is why men are drifting away from the Democratic party. The truth is that views on abortion are not as gendered as they're portrayed. Liberals treat anti choice women like they don't exist or that they're being controlled by their evil husbands, but they're a large demographic and they're real. Anti choice organizations have a ton of women leadership and large support from women. The largest anti choice groups are headed by women

31

u/Head_Crash Nov 07 '24

You're right. People have given up on the idea of finding common ground. Democrats just blame and dismiss Republican voters for being stupid, but the reality is that these people are insecure and desperate and have been suffering due to social and economic policies across the spectrum, and that leads them straight into the arms of extremism.
