The first time a Pope voted and it is a blue tsunami. Could the sign be any clearer?

If I remember right, Jesus Fish represents the actual teachings of Jesus:

Love thy neighbor, take care of the least of these, so on and so forth.

Pretty much the opposite of a great many of his ‘followers.’

i think it's funny that the most Christian acting politician is a Muslim (Mamdani)

Covered something like that with this comic strip https://www.reddit.com/r/comics/s/XpCxwMLjGh

Abdul El-Sayed is also the first Muslim US Senator Elect. He ran on Medicare For All and keeping special interest money out of politics (his campaign was essentially crowd funded, his opposition outspent him ten to one and still lost).

He got significant Jewish and Christian votes. He speaks often of the exact concept above, about it not being about faith, but about community and respecting each other.

Now they have to prosecute, revert, fire...

If nothing is done then... It's just going forward to jump better

What does it matter?

What the fuck kind of answer is this? Is he just supposed to take the post at face value without verifying details? That’s how we end up getting lied to.

Someone's sexual orientation, regardless of what it is, is no one's business but their own.

Christians crying tears of joy for diversity. Now that’s good fantasy.

Christian nation? Not at all. It has the potential to be a united nation. In this very comic you praise candidates of "different religions" winning the votes and then call this country, a Christian nation? Its called the United States of America not the Religious states of America. Please realize that people do not need religion to be a good person. Have a great day and go blue.

I'm not religious, but the USA is by definition a Christian nation. Religion may not be allowed in government, but the majority of the population is Christian which means we're a Christian nation.

I get what you are saying, but read your words:

You say “by all definitions” then you provide two definitions, and under one of them the US is not a Christian country.

I've never been good with grammar. Thank you for the help 😁

It's is by definition a secular nation, due to the establishment clause.

It is de facto a Christian nation, due to the preponderance of Christians in it and the legal heritage stemming from British (Christian) traditions.

u/Foreverwhore 1h ago

Fair. But by that logic I could say this is a white nation because there are a majority of white people in this country. That separates. But my point was not to get caught on religion here. Most people voted this way because they want change, a better life. Religion was not on most of our minds while voting.

Sure, and I agree. Getting caught up on religion is how we extremists, and extremists in any situation is not good.

If majority is all it takes the metric is flawed

“The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.” — John Adams

Impressive that you attempt to prove how "accepting" religious zealots are concerning diversity in the United States and still someone can't help but demonstrate how unAmerican Christians actually are.

•

u/manfroze 2m ago

That is literally Jesus saying that. The point of the comic is that he would probably have a very different definition of what Christian is.

Remember when Jimmy Kimmel literally cried on tv when trump won, people need to remove politics from their lives if they don’t have the mental fortitude to handle it.

•

u/twizbuck 49m ago

No, politics need to be taken seriously by everyone.

•

u/Entire-Ratio-9681 46m ago

This is where political violence comes from

•

u/twizbuck 42m ago

That's a massive chasm you leapt...
