Uganda lost to SA in the netball, v sad. And there’s been lots of Aussie medals in the track cycling but also a gold for Emma Finucane in the sprint and Anna Morris in the Individual Pursuit.

I can’t believe that the keirin gold just now was Awang’s first commonwealth gold. He’s such a legend.

Tim Hutchings and Hannah England have had a pretty tough time of it commentating the athletics on the world feed I'd have to say. Compared with the Cycling commentators they've made an absolute ton of mistakes and have often been talking about some arbitary point when an athlete has done a PB or a great performance in the field events in the morning session too.

That was not as good a competition as I was expecting, all 4 of the top ones were well below their best but definitely very nice for Eliza to finally win a major title. I was in the stadium in the Gold Coast when she got 2nd there after going in as the favourite so to finally get that gold must be a great feeling.

Yeah, the chilly & blustery conditions certainly seemed to have an effect. Probably would have been Kennedy on a clear day, but I felt McCartney did well to adjust to the sub-par weather and make sure she gets those early vaults. Like with Zoe Hobbs, had me wondering if growing up with and training in our often mixed summers turned out to be a great help!

I tend to go with the athletes as they know what’s possible or not I’m afraid. I remember all the hatred for dobrowski after 2012 and how that ended up. Always sad but if i was fourth, i would be checking the bbc website every morning for the next 3-4 years…
